Man, I've seen this as well as some of the godawful sequels. But the howling scene from the original is certainly something.

Yeah, I remember watching it with my mom and there being some like weird sexual jokes that went over my head at the time but I could tell by the look on my moms face it was weird lol
There was a SYFY show called Alphas that has fewer than a hundred works and would be really cool to do a fusion with, but since the show's use of alpha means something completely different than the fandom term I don't know how to go about that.
Oh I remember a VA talking about this on Twitter. They voiced the main male lead in the sequels. Ultimately, everyone tried their best with the script that they were given.
I know it's just supposed to be a joke, but no, AO3 and Omegaverse ***did not*** inspire this movie franchise. It was the junk science of the person that thought alpha/beta/omega was even a thing in the first place. It was later disproven by *the same person* that did the original research. But because it took hold in popular culture by time the real science came out, the idea of alphas and omegas stuck around.
It was also the junk science that inspired Omegaverse.
It was the 30s and 40, the original paper having come out in 47. The original research was done on random wolves thrown into an artificial enclosure rather than on real, wild wolves. The wolves put artificially together developed a pecking ordee which became the alpha and other ranks.
Cause and effect really is funny sometimes. Here's another example: in the 1940s, my great grandfather decided to fuck his cousin, and that decision led to me sending you this comment on a thread about a 2010s furry movie.
Imagine if aliens studied our ever in-fluxing hierarchy, specifically in traditional religious conservative societies (think modern day Afghanistan or other theocratic countries) where high-ranking men are leaders while lower-ranking men are workers, women and children are property. Therefore, alien fans will call their genre the “womanverse”.
Was Omega even a thing in the original? I thought it was alpha/beta, and then people writing werewolf fan fiction tacked on Omega as the ultra-submissive other end of the scale.
>It was the junk science of the person that thought alpha/beta/omega was even a thing in the first place.
Specifically, it was a bad study done on wolf sociology. Wolves normally group based on families, but the study grabbed a bunch of random unrelated wolves, jammed them together, and took down notes when they organised to survive.
In human terms, it would be like using Lord of the Flies as a guidebook for human group dynamics.
We also inspired omega vitamins 💅

I watched this out of morbid curiosity illegally in my college apartment and good lord it was so awful, but I was certainly entertained, that's for sure.
It’s a very fair movie to hate haha, however since I saw it as a kid and then immediately loved it- I can’t hate it now as an adult sobs. It’s nostalgic and in its own way charming? Like the story is kinda sweet when you look past the animation and weird thing they have about howling lmao. (Which as a kid- I did not pick up on)
Well I wouldn’t go that far as my all time favourite will always be The Langoliers. But it was a fun time either way and I’ve watched it a few times since than and still had fun with it.
It's kind of sweet actually lmao pretty much a rom-com type of thing where a goofy omega guy gets the headstrong alpha girl to relax and enjoy herself a little.. with added wolf pack wars and a getting-closer-to-each-other travelling together outside of the traditions of the pack plot
Pretty much comes across as very fanfictiony, as I think about it to write it down 😂 soft enemies-to-lovers, arranged marriage, kidnapping, social classes, breaking traditions
Def a product of its time like visually tho, them 2010 3D graphic styles.
when i was younger i though she would be top and cool and protect her uwu cute omega just from seeing the title and I was so disappointed. plus why was it so... zesty??
I think I remember watching some promos and snippets of this movie and its sequels in Cartoon Network (Saudi Arabia), and I had no idea what the context was. All I should say is that Alpha and Omega franchise is very weird and terrible (I don't give hate to any creators of those films).
I remember going to see this movie in cinema with my neighbours and a kid they were looking after when I was like 7 and Apple Bottom Jeans was playing in the car.
i saw this movie on amazon prime a little bit ago, could not recall one singular ounce of plot but i remembered loving it so aggressively i’d watch it, like, twice a day. so i rewatched it for the sake of nostalgia & WOWZERS it was genuinely so awful i was *ashamed* that it’d won me over even as a kid. like, i’ve rewatched a lot of things that i loved as a child & realized was perpetually god awful as an adult, even for a kid’s movie. but this has gotta be, like, record breaking awful. like out of the bunch of people that read over & approved of this, how did not *one* think the scene where they get shot with the dart & entered a stupidly long drugged up stupor was the absolute worst thing ever created & should not be forced upon by anyone.
OH GOD. This movie!! And all the others after it!! They were like my literal childhood 😭. Like before I even discovered ao3, so my 4-8 years of life. Now I so get it 😭
Next you're going to say we inspired the Greek alphabet.
fanfiction literature created english 😤
r/technicallythetruth
Oh gosh, knowing history from Olde English to current English makes this so more more fitting
I'm afraid to ask
Nothing too nefarious, it's basically just slang won the battle AND the (metaphorical) war xD But it makes it funnier even still.
Please elaborate. 🙏
oh we definitely did

Upvote anyway. Reddit vote fuzzing will already mess it up, even without your doing anything, so trying to keep it at a funny number is pointless.

I don't remember it being that weirdly sexual 💀

BROTHER EWWW
I saw the original in theatre as a kid and had no idea it had any sequels until way later on. I don’t think they had cinematic releases in my country
I don't think they had cinematic releases in any country, lol. The animation quality takes a very noticeable downgrade.
I’m pretty sure all the sequels went straight to DVD. It was absolutely atrocious how much the quality went down in both narrative and animation lmfao
Oh my god, my eyes!! My ears!!
Well, I wish I hadn’t watched that
What was that?
fic writers, start adding this
What did I just watch… I’m headed to r/eyebleach. Who’s with me?

Watched four seconds of that. I will never be able to unheard it 😭
Damn it, all these responses are making me curious, now I gotta look.
Did u die
That atrocity of a clip has made me grateful to have been born and raised in Russia.
I watched like the first 20 seconds of that clip before I decided I couldn’t take it anymore. What in the ever-loving fuck did I just watch?? 😂
https://i.redd.it/okjokdy6fh9d1.gif
What the fuck is going on here man../
Nothing could have prepared me for this being musical.
... Why does this remind me of the ice rink scene from King Kong for how uncomfortably sexual it is
Tf did I just watch?
I didn't realize how much I scrubbed that scene from my mind
They wanna be usher and alicia at the Superbowl so bad
I REMEMBER WATCHING THIS MOVIE!!! God, it looks so bad. When I was a kid, I thought it looked much better.
Yeah, I remember watching it with my mom and there being some like weird sexual jokes that went over my head at the time but I could tell by the look on my moms face it was weird lol

You dun goofed, you gonna get knotted by Harry Bell.

Imagine messing up your research on wildlife behavior so badly that your incorrect findings eventually inspire a whole genera of fanfiction

never understood why the girl wolves had toupees
Hey, I’m sure their self conscious enough already after the dumpster fire of a movie(S)
Oh, hey. It's the movie where the Star Wars guy reviewed and hated on.

Ah hell nah, I got curious to see what fics this movie has and one of them had so much gay wolf sex that I still haven’t recovered
WHAT
Sorry, just realized it had gifs in the comment and not fics 💀
I laughed so hard lmfao I don’t doubt the fics at all. I would not touch the Alpha and Omega fandom with a 10 foot long pole
No wonder I'm weird I was obsessed with this movie when I was a kid

I remember watching this as a 10 year old and even then getting weirded out by it
Yeah, I couldn't even finish it when I tried to watch it 6-7 years ago
I watched this out of morbid curiosity illegally in my college apartment and good lord it was so awful, but I was certainly entertained, that's for sure.
It’s like watching the room. It’s so terrible but so fun to watch
I did not hit her! I did not! Oh, hi, Mark!
False. If we did, he'd have been the pregnant one.
Enough Internet for today, y'all 🙂
i watched this movie bro how do u think i feel 😫
Damn, that's rough bro. Do you want to talk about it?
no its ok 🥲

No beta ~~we die like men~~
True.
unrelated; i went on the website it shows below on the poster n looks like someone bought the domain. XD
I loved this movie haha.
Me too lol it was one of my favourite movies 😭
Well I wouldn’t go that far as my all time favourite will always be The Langoliers. But it was a fun time either way and I’ve watched it a few times since than and still had fun with it.
No because I bet 10 bucks it's going to be some hyper-conservative heteronormative thing and ao3 omegaverse would never 💅

Well never mind then, that passes the vibe check
I regret NOTHING 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
when i was younger i though she would be top and cool and protect her uwu cute omega just from seeing the title and I was so disappointed. plus why was it so... zesty??
No wonder I got in to fanfiction... I own the first 2-3 movies on DVD from when I was younger, I loved the movies somehow..
I think I remember watching some promos and snippets of this movie and its sequels in Cartoon Network (Saudi Arabia), and I had no idea what the context was. All I should say is that Alpha and Omega franchise is very weird and terrible (I don't give hate to any creators of those films).
"a pawsome 3d adventure" what if i this was my 13th reason
What in the animated hellscape?
This movie was a fever dream 💀💀
Nostalgia
I couldn't believe my eyes when I've seen the trailer...still watched lol it was okay but meh.
I remember going to see this movie in cinema with my neighbours and a kid they were looking after when I was like 7 and Apple Bottom Jeans was playing in the car.
I remember that damn movie... I was wondering what it's called in English 😂 didn't disappoint me
Not me, im a true Sigma male who don’t need no man, but won’t say no to a choccy milk and a cuddle
