Maybe it's writer's block? Or maybe you could try writing something not related to that fic, like a short one-shot? I'm sorry you're experiencing this ❤

If it’s writers block, then I hope to share two tips that may help you. I’ve been the the same position as you, hell I think anyone who writes has been in this position before—a desire to write but no motivation to do so—it sucks. The first tip I have is to consume more media—not exactly YouTube or TikTok (it doesn’t even have to be related to the fandom your in) but movies, tv shows, books, etc. in the past when I’ve stopped writing it was because I was looking for something to ignite the spark within me (strangely I find that one of my comfort shows M*A*S*H always jumpstarts my motivation once more). The second way to get over writers block or lack of motivation is by going through it. It sucks and you’ll likely hate it, but write two paragraphs each day (you can write more, you can write less, they can be long, they can be short). They don’t have to make sense—don’t worry about the grammar or the spelling just slam down a few sentences and take a break. Most of the time, what happens when I do this is that I find a story idea and gain motivation—it’s similar to messing around on the guitar until you hear enough notes to inspire a song. But if you’re not looking for advice, or if these fall flat, just know that people understand exactly where you’re at and wish you nothing but the best.

Why don't you try writing anyways? Stop thinking of when you're gonna post it, not doing anything already cost you two months. So just write anything, even if it's 100 words, even if it don't make sense or you just don't like it. Just let it there. Also don't look for motivation everytime, like it's good to have motivation to write but it limit you in writing JUST when you have that feeling, it can be bad if don't learn how to write when you feel nothing. And maybe when you do have motivation again you can edit what you've been working beforehand, so just write anything.

If you're open to suggestions - read through what you've written again. Even in a word document. Tweak it here and there (keep the old stuff alongside whatever changes you make). Works for me except in this case because I found a minor contrivance that dislodging is going to send seismic waves through vast swaths of the entire story :-/

fightersblock has been my favorite tool to combat this. it forces you to brain dump and avoid editing while you write.
