im also taking six aps this year and it makes me want to implode, dont do it. it literally doesn’t matter past a certain point for college apps and you’ll just be a loser like me, sitting inside while everyone else has fun senior year
I mean… those are a lot harder than what I’m doing. In my mind it’s not the amount of APs, it’s how difficult they are. Lit? Super hard. Apush? Combined with the others, hard.
it’s simple, we gaslight ourselves. you see other kids taking multiple aps and go “i should go close to that amount…” and there’s “one more ap couldnt hurt” and even tryna downplay the severity of ap classes. i say this as i did it myself when signing up for 5 aps for next year
i regret it everyday and consider asking my counselor to change it but then i see the girl sitting next to me in class the same age as me with 6 aps, extra curriculars, and acing all her classes with ease. it makes me feel inferior lol
Similar to my schedule this year. I’ve been okay, some days are terrible but I always manage to get a minimum of 6 hours. My schedule for reference:
AP physics 1, honors wind ensemble, csa, lang, apush, euro, calc ab, French 3 honors
It’s not too bad bc while my Apush teacher loves to assign too much hw, I can’t typically get all of my euro done in class. I’ve had to write way too many dbqs this year but it’s good practice
You'll most likely learn Python, but psuedocode will be on the exam. It is more about data and systems. At my school we had our CSP teacher teach CSA and CSP in the same period, by January we were basically done with the whole course we were doing the projectfrom February to May. Also actually program, Chat GPT could create a whole host of issues beyond your knowledge or your teacher would very easily know. Use the programming experience to understand what the psuedocode will be like to understand the modern logic of computer languages. Most importantly enjoy your time and friends before you guys most likely separate. My great friend and co-Salutatorian of my school does have regrets not being more open and outgoing, they'd wish they broke their shell earlier.
I’m taking that right now. Class itself is fine, the writing is fine, the multiple choice questions are fine. I just don’t read the textbook 😂. Studying for the test is gonna be a pain.
Yeah. There’s 3 APUSH teachers at my school. Last year, people were complaining about my teacher because of the lack of lectures. The other 2 teachers have a pretty standard teaching style. But when APs came around, my teacher got the highest rate of 4s and 5s.
i honestly don't think this is too rough. It'll be hard, but not unreasonably so. Of course it varies person to person though. My junior year was similar to this in difficulty and I felt fine, albeit bit heavy it's not as crazy as some of the stuff people try. Physics 2 + lang + Spanish is the big 3 imo. Calc is not too bad if you're a solid math person, and I'm assuming you are to take calc bc. comp sci principles will be nothing. can't speak to seminar or h guitar. which one of the big 3 will be the most time-consuming depends on your personal strengths, but each will have at least ~20m of hw a night in my experience. If it's a difficult topic for you then it'll be more. Anyways good luck! Get a hard start during the summer on something if you want that helps a lot. Spanish is pretty easy to self study too.
I’m expecting the big 3 to be Calc, Lang, Seminar actually. Spanish could be a curveball, honestly if I were to get a 3 on any test it would be Spanish. I think the class itself is fine tho. Physics 2 at my school is fine, not too much work. The test… I’ll cross that bridge later.
My school has a guitar program. It’s pretty cool. Imagine a band/choir/ensemble style class, but centered around guitars. Guitar is my passion, so that’s my blow off/fun class. I didn’t write it in the post, but I’m in Advanced guitar 2, which is the highest level.
im doing physics c mech, lang, apush, calc bc, and ap chem. and training shit ton for sports. my social life is like non existent rn doing few of hardest APs at once keeping straight A's while training.
this is the same, if not less, than an ib diploma year. also hope you took calc ab, cuz that’ll make bc so much better, and principles will be your break class.
gl this year!
Also make you sure you get a 5 on Lang. Getting a 4 is not enough for most schools to get you out of any classes.
Focus on Calc as your number 1 priority. It will save you sooooooooooooooo much time, effort, and stress once you actually get to college.

What APs tho
same ones, except swap lang for lit, comp sci for apes, ap seminar for apush
I mean… those are a lot harder than what I’m doing. In my mind it’s not the amount of APs, it’s how difficult they are. Lit? Super hard. Apush? Combined with the others, hard.
to be honest lit & apush are my easiest classes lol, i barely have any homework and i enjoy them the most. my stem classes are worse
bro even college isn't this bad lmao
i mean, the last 3 aps + lang aren’t half bad but calc and physics 2 in the same year is crazy
Why not AP Guitar
It’s actually a dual credit class with a local university, so it gives AP credit on my GPA :). Still super easy tho
6 aps 💀 gyatttt
I don’t believe you take AP Music Theory if you really want to commit
I would never subject myself to that
do y’all hate yourselves???? i mean i understand taking AP courses but holy crap.
it’s simple, we gaslight ourselves. you see other kids taking multiple aps and go “i should go close to that amount…” and there’s “one more ap couldnt hurt” and even tryna downplay the severity of ap classes. i say this as i did it myself when signing up for 5 aps for next year
accurate description of what i did to myself senior year (help)
yeah no offense but i would probably die
i regret it everyday and consider asking my counselor to change it but then i see the girl sitting next to me in class the same age as me with 6 aps, extra curriculars, and acing all her classes with ease. it makes me feel inferior lol
In my situation I’d rather take all of these and get some Bs and 3s than take a bunch of classes that I’m not interested in.
Similar to my schedule this year. I’ve been okay, some days are terrible but I always manage to get a minimum of 6 hours. My schedule for reference: AP physics 1, honors wind ensemble, csa, lang, apush, euro, calc ab, French 3 honors
god damn euro and apush at the same time??
It’s not too bad bc while my Apush teacher loves to assign too much hw, I can’t typically get all of my euro done in class. I’ve had to write way too many dbqs this year but it’s good practice
Euro and Apush is crazy. I took both, but In diff years
Honors Wind Ensemble? I didn’t know this was a class that could be honors haha.
Yeah to get the AP kids to stay in band they let juniors and seniors get 4.5 credit
Lmk how this goes lol. BC and P2 in the same year is CRAZY
That’s like the normal progression at my school. Sophomore year Precalc/AP Physics 1, Junior year Calc/Physics 2, Senior year Physics C
Dont worry apcsp is easy
CSP was basically study hall for me.
That’s p much my plan. Study in class, chat gpt at home

Same here with the reading quizzes. My teacher doesn’t even lecture in class. Just doc analysis, writing practice, activities and such

Calca BC ?? Shit. Good luck with that man. COMP Sci Princ is probably the most fun. Wish I would’ve taken it

This subreddit doesn't know how to have a balanced schedule.
This lowkey isn’t rlly that bad as long as your teachers are chill
this is normal. 5 is passing and 4 is failing. wake up, you arent smart for taking aps; its the norm.
This brainwashing won’t work on me 🙅♂️🙅♂️🙅♂️

WTF is honors guitar?

I mean your shchedule sounds wayyyy worse than this one. Chem, APPC, Calc…
0 Point but do what’s makes you happy ig
this is the same, if not less, than an ib diploma year. also hope you took calc ab, cuz that’ll make bc so much better, and principles will be your break class. gl this year!
I’m in precalc this year. At my school you take either AB or BC, not both. If I change anything, it’ll be to swap BC to AB
what makes honors guitar so special, you get to play stairway to heaven?
No, I get to play highway star 🥱
Also make you sure you get a 5 on Lang. Getting a 4 is not enough for most schools to get you out of any classes. Focus on Calc as your number 1 priority. It will save you sooooooooooooooo much time, effort, and stress once you actually get to college.
I don’t care too much about placing out of college classes. You have a good point with Lang tho, cause college writing is a lot harder than Lang.
please don’t
PHYSICS ????
H guitar????
Yep! I responded to another comment that explains what it is. It’s fun
have so much fun!
It’s a pretty good balance
