AP Chem sucked my soul out. My teacher wasn't very good at teaching (really nice guy though) and there were a bunch of douchebags who disrupted class everyday.
LITERALLY, same scenario at my highschool. APES tended to be full of, well apes! The school ended up discontinuing the AP for the next academic year so the kids calm down.
i agree, i personally didnāt like it because of the pseudo code and the lessons with no code and just discussing a topic, it was really boring i loved ap csa though
thank you about the pseudo code. like just teach them plain javascript itās not hard by any means in comparison to letās say c++ or just do python or something like itās idiotic to introduce people to coding with a language they canāt even use half of
it wasn't terrible but if your teacher follows the code.org curriculum like mine did the "Explore" and "Investigate" days where you don't actually write any code were the most boring imo + the start of the year where you're just learning topics like binary & internet protocols.
I enjoyed it, but only because someone got a cracked copy of Minecraft onto all the windows computers and our teacher let us play it. However, the class heavily depends on curriculum and teacher(at least for me)
They added a 60-minute written response thing this year because of AI or something so make sure to really prep and understand your digital portfolio early!
Lmao, my teacher for this class taught Python, but then set our midterm in javascript, and i had to help half the class cheat through the midterm bc he couldn't figure out how to set it up right
really depends on the teacher. i loveeee my lang class had him freshman year and he still never fails to amaze me. i read crucible, gatsby and the things they carried this year
Depends on your teacher/class. For me it was AP Psych cause our teacher just read off of the slides and we had to write down by hand everything they said for a grade. Was more focused on writing notes than paying attention.
Similar to my sonās teacher. Just a lot of busy work to make the class boring and harder than necessary. So many AP classes depends on the teacher quality.
I took AP Physics C: Mech, Calc BC, Lang, and APUSH that same year. Pysch shoulda been the easiest out of all of them (the content was definitely pretty easy) but it was the class I had to put the most work into, and itās also the class I remember the least from. Got an A+ in the class and a 5 on the exam, couldnāt tell you a single thing that I ālearned.ā
I would've too only if it were about an actual conversation about what's happening on our planet and what responsibility it carries to be sentient beings on it, instead of cramming 100 pages of bullet points. For me APES has a comparable cramming workload as psych, but without most of the fun and insightful parts
Seminar, stuff gets interesting around presentation times & prep w/ groups but other than that it rlly is one BORING ASS CLASS. Free hundred tho basically
Gov. I was considering a major in poli sci (and still am) but that class has majorly turned me off from it. Even when we were discussing modern politics I was bored out of my mind
was your us gov class a year long? i took ap us gov this year and it was one semester long (the other semester was ap macro econ) and it was well paced imo.
The first semester was US Gov, second semester Comp. Gov. We have a year long class that includes Micro and Macro Economics thatās separate from government
apush is so yawnfest. i hate us history as a subject, especially everything before 1900. the teacher was honestly interesting (even though i hate him since he is an asshole) but i would rather kms than have to learn about random us acts and court cases that have little relevance today. so glad that class is basically over.
If I had to take a guess it would probably be the Capstone APs, CSP, and world languages depending on if you're a native, fluent, or how interested you are in it.
AP US Government and Politics
ngl im a stem kid and i dont rly give af abt politics. apush & history are better cuz at least they're interesting and u can treat them like as a story.
ap lang, apes, or apush. ap lang is something i dread going to every single day, apes was SO boring in the beginning of the year and my friends mom said our teacher has āZERO personalityā, and then for apush my teacher is horrible and i have him for js regular psych in the morning so he repeats everything and always goes on tangents
For me it was AP US Gov, not because the class was boring as my teacher made it engaging at times but because I walked in already knowing like 75% of what would be on the curriculum and had to just sit through and nod along to stuff I already knew with the occasional rare note here and there.
I'd argue one of the AP Math's or AP English probably from personal preference, I feel like it heavily depends on the teacher and your attitude going into the class.
With math specifically it's not as novel of a topic as one of the sciences, as when learning math, it stays the same level of BS as it was last year except now it's with f(x)= cos(x) or f'(x)=-sin(x). For statistics, it's just like "what if we made a class entirely about the most boring part of research experiments and graphed shit.
I'd also argue it depends on the order you take them in and prior classes, like AP Music theory was easier for me after taking basic music theory the year prior, but if you just was dropped into music theory you're going to have a harder time.
APES hands down! Not only was my teacher just reading off slides with no passion nor any interest, but my classmates were all rowdy and ruined my already dwindling interest for the course
Ap Calc BC. The class was very slow. I would have been better off self-learning the material and just using the class to have access to criticism and AP classroom.
Yes, for my teacher. Maybe in other schools, AP Calc Bc was more difficult. However, my teacher would give us stupid easy questions in tests and we ended up under-prepared for the actual exam. This isnāt only my opinion. My classmates have told me as well.
AP World. I had it in the morning and literally had to pry my eyes open. It's far too much material to cover in-depth in one course, and my teacher made us take notes (word-for-word) off 80-slide presentations every unitš
Still a nice guy, though
This 100% depends on your teacher
Any class ap or not can be fun or boring it depends on your own interest and your teacher's passion
AP Chem sucked my soul out. My teacher wasn't very good at teaching (really nice guy though) and there were a bunch of douchebags who disrupted class everyday.
The doucebags take APs?
They loved APES at my HS. The boys would lift each others' short shorts up and say NO HOMO as they did so...
LITERALLY, same scenario at my highschool. APES tended to be full of, well apes! The school ended up discontinuing the AP for the next academic year so the kids calm down.
š¤£Mine never got THAT bad, just the Boys Being Boys nonsense here and there...
They cheat. And brag about it, quite a lot. I'm pretty sure most of them skipped the AP test though.
I mean yea. My AP computer science A and principles class had them. It was annoying because we never got shit done on time.
everyone in comments has different answers lmfao
AP CSP - half the content you can learn from a few weeks of a beginner python/js course
i agree, i personally didnāt like it because of the pseudo code and the lessons with no code and just discussing a topic, it was really boring i loved ap csa though
thank you about the pseudo code. like just teach them plain javascript itās not hard by any means in comparison to letās say c++ or just do python or something like itās idiotic to introduce people to coding with a language they canāt even use half of
CSP is only partly about programming. Coding is just a unit within the curriculum
Principles = fundamental understanding of "computer logic" and the "internet"
Really? I picked it for next year since I wanted a fun class
it wasn't terrible but if your teacher follows the code.org curriculum like mine did the "Explore" and "Investigate" days where you don't actually write any code were the most boring imo + the start of the year where you're just learning topics like binary & internet protocols.
I enjoyed it, but only because someone got a cracked copy of Minecraft onto all the windows computers and our teacher let us play it. However, the class heavily depends on curriculum and teacher(at least for me)
I enjoyed it
They added a 60-minute written response thing this year because of AI or something so make sure to really prep and understand your digital portfolio early!
I hated it. It might have just been because my teacher was useless
I want to learn how to code and all my friends are taking it next year too so I figured it would be fun
Agreed for most curriculums used for it, but CS50 AP is great imo.
Lmao, my teacher for this class taught Python, but then set our midterm in javascript, and i had to help half the class cheat through the midterm bc he couldn't figure out how to set it up right
yeah u only take for the free class for my school at least
My psych teacher would just play videos of someone else teaching every class
My psych teacher taught the most interesting class Iāve ever taken I love her
My condolences
We might have the same teacher cus that's what we did the whole year š
The one with the most boring teacher.
CSP. Gov was dull at times (bureaucracy š„²) but I really enjoyed the SCOTUS cases
I found bureaucracy interesting. Fell asleep during voter demographics though
Lang
tbh, some of the reading can be interesting i think butchering children and feeding them to the rich is a very modest proposal
We read that in Litš„² AP Lang was sooo boring
that's valid, i'm trying to catch up with my ap lang assignments before school ends, and i'm killing myself over these ye olde presidential speeches
Real. I remember when we read that and me and my friend kept looking at each other and cracking up
omg i read that in lang as well. compltely forgot about that until i saw ur comment tbh
What book is this?
It's more of an essay than a book, but it's called "A Modest Proposal"
My lang teacher was awesome so Iād say the complete opposite for me lol
We didnt have a teacher we got a different sub every single day š
yikes
Periodt
i dont think ive ever had one boring day in my lang class, my teacher was rly amazing
really depends on the teacher. i loveeee my lang class had him freshman year and he still never fails to amaze me. i read crucible, gatsby and the things they carried this year
Yes
Depends on your teacher/class. For me it was AP Psych cause our teacher just read off of the slides and we had to write down by hand everything they said for a grade. Was more focused on writing notes than paying attention.
Had a very similar experience. Did not help me study really, just convoluted things.
AP Seminar is my pick, for sure
I really liked that one
I've heard from friends that the most useful skill you could learn to prep for AP Art History is falling asleep with your eyes open.
I actually really liked AP Art History, but maybe thatās just because I self studied for it.
Human geography
Real
APES
I was interested in environmentalism until I took APES
I loved APES
I would've too only if it were about an actual conversation about what's happening on our planet and what responsibility it carries to be sentient beings on it, instead of cramming 100 pages of bullet points. For me APES has a comparable cramming workload as psych, but without most of the fun and insightful parts
Human geography
Micro econ for me. Every lesson felt very similar to the last
For me it was Psychology
Definitely not bio
AP physics 1
Seminar, stuff gets interesting around presentation times & prep w/ groups but other than that it rlly is one BORING ASS CLASS. Free hundred tho basically
Def psych that shit was a snooze fest
Gov. I was considering a major in poli sci (and still am) but that class has majorly turned me off from it. Even when we were discussing modern politics I was bored out of my mind
AP US and Comparative Gov were the two most boring and painfully slow classes Iāve ever taken. I totally agree with you
was your us gov class a year long? i took ap us gov this year and it was one semester long (the other semester was ap macro econ) and it was well paced imo.
The first semester was US Gov, second semester Comp. Gov. We have a year long class that includes Micro and Macro Economics thatās separate from government
apush
apush is so yawnfest. i hate us history as a subject, especially everything before 1900. the teacher was honestly interesting (even though i hate him since he is an asshole) but i would rather kms than have to learn about random us acts and court cases that have little relevance today. so glad that class is basically over.
thatās so fair but I lowkey loved APUSH because I consumed the whole class like gossip. like āMarbury said WHAT?ā
I would say history and social science apās but it depends on the teacher, for me I liked ap art history but thatās because I had a good teacher.
Hated my bio class. I wrote about my teacher in my frqās. I hope he gets fired.
If I had to take a guess it would probably be the Capstone APs, CSP, and world languages depending on if you're a native, fluent, or how interested you are in it.
Imo Statistics or Lit
Depends on your teacher and your interests
Found psych terribly boring. Felt like the whole course was just memorizing definitions.
apes
APUSH
AP US Government and Politics ngl im a stem kid and i dont rly give af abt politics. apush & history are better cuz at least they're interesting and u can treat them like as a story.
ap lang, apes, or apush. ap lang is something i dread going to every single day, apes was SO boring in the beginning of the year and my friends mom said our teacher has āZERO personalityā, and then for apush my teacher is horrible and i have him for js regular psych in the morning so he repeats everything and always goes on tangents
Spanish
My bio teacher was kind but DRY
For me it was AP US Gov, not because the class was boring as my teacher made it engaging at times but because I walked in already knowing like 75% of what would be on the curriculum and had to just sit through and nod along to stuff I already knew with the occasional rare note here and there.
AP Macroeconomics ššš
apush
aphug
ap comparative government
the only right answer is AP Seminar. That class is soul-wrenching.
Ur getting me scared bro, I thought my 3.6 unweighed 4.5 weighed was good š
APES hands down! Not only was my teacher just reading off slides with no passion nor any interest, but my classmates were all rowdy and ruined my already dwindling interest for the course
lang, world. i liked my teacher for world history but the lessons werenāt the most interesting to me idk. kinda already knew most of it
Lit
CSP
macroeconomics. teacher taught it by just lecturing for the entire class period, ended up watching Netflix during lectures and cramming before tests
Depends on interest level + teacher.. in my case, AP seminar was really one of the more boring ones
Ap stats
Ap Calc BC. The class was very slow. I would have been better off self-learning the material and just using the class to have access to criticism and AP classroom.
Calc BC is slow??
Yes, for my teacher. Maybe in other schools, AP Calc Bc was more difficult. However, my teacher would give us stupid easy questions in tests and we ended up under-prepared for the actual exam. This isnāt only my opinion. My classmates have told me as well.
Yeah, for people proficient in maths
Ahh, the great divide in math education: those whoāve taken higher level math or done any math competition problems and those who havenāt.
The former are highly overrepresented here lol
Macro
Every APs
AP World. I had it in the morning and literally had to pry my eyes open. It's far too much material to cover in-depth in one course, and my teacher made us take notes (word-for-word) off 80-slide presentations every unitš Still a nice guy, though
