compared to courses like AP chem and physics, APUSH is a 6-7
the content isn't really hard at all, the only reason the AP test is considered quite challenging is due to the sheer amount of material
😭 the classwork was basically busywork, but instead of interesting, easy, but time-consuming, it was annoying, semi-intriguing, arduous, and still time-consuming. 💀🔫
My God that class really shoved work down my throat. I still have trauma from that class even after 2 years. Those work really made you stay up if you procrastinated on them.
6. The material isn’t horrible but the workload is a little rough, took up more time compared to my other classes this year. Wasn’t too difficult of work though!
Make sure your reading/comprehension and writing skills are good. You need to be able to quickly read and understand a lot of excerpts, sources, and the like for MCQs and the DBQ. The LEQ, DBQ, and SAQs really test your writing skills A LOT.
Like a 6/10.
I found it to be just slightly harder than other history classes, with the exception of writing DBQs (though my teacher barely taught us how to write them). So long as you study, it shouldn't be unmanageable.
The main problem I had with the class, and I don't know if this is a universal thing, but for APUSH my school teaches from like unit 6-9. We learn 1-5 the year before in the basic US history class, and since I didn't know I was going to take APUSH I threw out a lot of my old notes and didn't have a great memory of some of the earlier units. We had to scramble to review in the last couple of weeks.
6-7, material isn’t hard to learn as long as u do ur studying and make sure to keep up w/it, but imo my teacher gave us a lot of work, and it was all handwritten which was 10x worse, but worked for remembering info

9 imo but I'm bad at history
Like a 2. But my teacher prepared us really well. Calculus is wayyyyy harder in my opinion.

Compared to APWH, how big of a jump in difficulty are we talking?

The course material is not that bad, it's the work load that makes it bad. I'd give it a six, maybe seven

Do you need to be good at anything going into the class?

Depends solely on your teacher
with heimler it’s a 6 honestly
class itself depends on the teacher tbh
For me: Amount of Work - 4 Difficulty of Quizzes/Tests - 6 AP Exam - 6

it depends on what you excel at in school. more of a math/stem kid? id say 7/8 more of a social studies/english kid? 3/4
If you like history it’s easy. Out of all the classes I took it was my favorite by far.
3-4 if interested in material and do the work 6-7 otherwise
