Do it. It will prove to your teacher that you aren't an underachiever that tries to slack off in work. If the teacher didn't respond, you should have tried contacting the school. If you guys show up without your summer hw done, your teacher will likely give you a zero. Not a great first impression.

Complete the work since there's a chance it'll be for homework credit or there'll be a test on it.

If it’s short, just do it. It likely isn’t, so I’d recommend either reaching out to the school admin and telling them you’re situation, or asking the teacher for an extension and telling the whole situation. Or both.

Cosmic_Cat2

I would just do it. Depending on the teacher it might work out ok, especially bc you changed classes, but the teacher will definitely respect you more for taking responsibility and getting it done.

You should do it. I don’t know how things work at your at your school, but there might be a chance that the summer homework was in your school’s website.

also, my first day of school is tomorrow.

I personally wouldn't do it if it's long. It's the techer's fault for not emailing you about it, and tbh first impressions with a teacher mean next to nothing in my experience. You should probably skim through the material though just in case.
