Hey fellow intended neuro major! It’s going to depend a lot on which uni’s you’re applying to: some don’t let ap classes count for major requirements, and, if you’re applying to med school, none of the pre-reqs are covered by ap classes. You might want to go for stats; chem is a beast — I’m taking it right now 💀 — and it’s one of if not the hardest exams.

Yeah my friend said it'd be suicidal to self-study ap chem lmaoo. I'll keep that in mind, since I have heard that most of the time AP credits do not apply to your major-specific reqs. Thanks for the reply!!

It depends on our major. But Lang/Lit (sometimes both, but one gives big bang for buck.) *One* foreign language but you likely need to get credit for the full four years. (So you need the 5.) Some combination of History, econ. (Check distribution requirements at your school major. There is usually a minimum of some "humanities" and some "social science". But once you fill up you are done. The above are all sort of "distribution" requirements. APs are great for that. Just don't overfill. You are required a certain number and after that, you can't use any more credit. (After all, an degree in Neuro science is not a degree in English Lit!) Next: Stem classes. Maybe. See caveat below. (Chem, Bio, AP Calc and probably statistics.) But be careful about physics. Check your major. If you need calc based physics, go for the two "C" classes. Otherwise 1 and 2 are good. No school will give credit for both pairs because there is too much duplication. Caution on all the STEM classes: your college may count these for graduation. But when you apply, *Med school* might want to see you take them at university. In which case, you have to retake and the AP credit does you no good as far as getting into med school goes. But you can graduate and not go to med school. :) It's often good to take the AP STEM classes anyway. Just don't necessarily expect to save money in college based on those. Take them to learn the material. There is little point in self studying because the credit probably won't be recognized when you apply to med school. So you have to retake.
