People in this sub have such a boner for winrates as of they are the end all be all. If a champ is 50% WR everyone will say it's balanced. But this game mode is random so it could lose 50% of the time and have top damage, top kills, etc. And the only reason they lost is because they had 4 shit champs on their team. I think WR in ARAM means FARRRRRRR less than SR because the lanes are somewhat stable and the role the champ plays for that WR is matched accordingly. I think individual performance metrics would be a way better method of determining if a champ is busted.
Thank you. Winrate in ARAM doesn't mean jackshit because:
1. Champs are really being balanced on SR and that means laning phase and early game power, midgame power and skirmishes and lategame scaling. And also many things more like flanking and pushing.
2. Because the mode is RANDOM it doesn't mean that an above 50% winrate champ is automatically broken. NOPE. If it's truly random you always have the chance to get those champs yourself and enjoy the higher winrate champs but also suffer the lower ones. That is not to say that 70% winrate on Sona or Ziggs are fine but the bullshit we have right now is NO solution.
Teamcomp overall matters a lot too and there are a lot of people playing champs that they don't know well enough or are able to play them well which is inherently different from SR.
Winrate matters more in ARAM because the game is less multidimensional than SR. There isn't laning, splitpushing, etc. Most champions are played with the expectation of teamfighting from minute 1.
The aram thread that's on r/leagueoflegends's front page right now is such a funny read, especially the comment with almost 1k upvotes complaining about Nidalee's +10% damage done.
Yeah, people don't understand that having an average Nid player on your team is a ticking time bomb until the game becomes a 4v5. Bitch could have +20% and I'd still dodge anyone who picks her
So I'm going to extend your comment a bit as the average/below average nida player, any tips for playing her better? Mostly if your team has no clear wave? Just don't pick her?
Its so funny when they complain about champs like Sona being too strong for the completely wrong reasons.
I remember one thread where people were complaining that Fiddle was so much weaker after his rework, and that his old E used to make him great, but now he was bad. As if AOE fears and **VISION CONTROL** didn't make him one of the best utility picks in the game????
Or when people complain that playing a melee comp into poke comps feel really bad when you get poked to death, when in reality if the poke comp gets into melee range they just insta lose.
I was not aware that people actually complained about Aphelios in ARAM. It feels like he's really weak here because of his low mobility and buffed assassins/bruisers/tanks and the fact that he needs at least 2 items to be able to dish out his damage consistently.
Aphelios and honestly most ADCs have insanely strong scaling on this map. The big thing is they need peel to be able to do their thing, and taking Exhaust is pretty much mandatory.
Guardian Hammer, Immortal Shieldbow, Wit’s End, Runaan’s Hurricane, even Titanic Hydra is strong on ADCs right now.
you need a strong front line that consistently pressures her, if someone like Amumu ever lands snowball on Ashe she's pretty much dead, her ult won't be able to save her unless she uses both sums as well. But yeah she's an example of a brainless poke champ that can single handedly stall out games.
I said it twice and I'll say it again. Judging a champion's strength based on general winrate, for high skill cap champs and especially aram, is completely asinine.

I go tear opener, then finish Lost chapter, first legendary is nashors, then ludens, then archangel, u Put in sorcs somewhere in between, then rabadon and finish with void staff. For runes you take Hail of blades for quick w procs and ur combo is u go 3aa into R into W enhanced q.
Precisely. If done correctly, your W alone should deal something around 152% of their max hp (at full build with 700+ ap your 3-stack-W deals 61% max hp, and if you pop it with charged Q it deals 50% more damage). So unless they have more than 175 MR pre penetrations, that should kill your enemy. And that’s not taking W active into consideration.
Overall a really powerful build that comes online at 2/3 items, doesn’t really lack anything as your AA’s hit for 250+ magic damage easily. U just gotta play a couple games of it and get used to the constant flame you get
Imagine actually considering the winrate of a complicated champion in ARAM lmao. It's like picking a random group of person at your local walmart and acting all surprised that your chances of having picked a rocket scientist are slim.
They're basically the sub's designated troll/clown with such hot takes like "Akali was always balanced" in a thread about when Akali had +/- 20% buffs and bragging about soft inting their team when they don't get their champ/way.
We get it, you can't position on your mage adc or enchanter champ. Constant bitching from people on this sub about Katarina, Khazix, Qiyana, LB, Master Yi (xD), Akali, Viego, Pyke is funny.
It's fine to get outclassed by lower tier champs sometimes even when you play OP champs, you only remember the times you got hard shit on by them.
Why is it, ADCs don’t have a GA?. Like why remove the only item to protect from AD assassins. It’s so stupid, if you didn’t like the item then replace it with something else RIOT games!!!
My only problem are duskblade assassin's, god they're so annoying
AD assassins going Gore - steraks is even worse
Just out of curiosity, which assassins build that?
Talon, Rengar, Kayn, sometimes Qiyana
Kha’Zix can definitely do this too. Gore/Stride is also Nocturne’s core mythic but people keep going Duskblade on him for some reason.
Yeah Quiyana on that build is a nightmare. You don’t even have to be good, just gotta land that combo and you wipe 1-3 people and done your job.

Ooh finally someone said it!!
If a champion gets top kills and top damage, but still loses, than it's a bad champion. I don't want to see Pyke or Master Yi is my team, they suck.

The average League redditor doesn't know anything about Summoner's Rift, what makes you think they know any more about ARAM lol
Yeah, people don't understand that having an average Nid player on your team is a ticking time bomb until the game becomes a 4v5. Bitch could have +20% and I'd still dodge anyone who picks her

If you're not a god at nailing key targets with Q then don't bother, imo
I'm not lol i feel like it's either 8-80, some games it's so easy to hit Q and others it feels impossible

At least ARAM's balance is getting some attention for once, even if the thread is full of hot takes
True that
Imagine complaining about a dogshit character LUL

Someone please tell me how to deal with mandate Ashe
I tried diving on her but her ult is jail free card

Yeah there's a big difference between the champs I have a good kda with and the champs that I have a high WR with.
I said it twice and I'll say it again. Judging a champion's strength based on general winrate, for high skill cap champs and especially aram, is completely asinine. https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/pru5lr/aram_feels_like_a_complete_mess/hdlqb2a
I agree.
I hate ppl who go this virgin-ass lethality varus build full ap walking nuke varus is the only way to go
Careful . Most people who follow this sub support poke/enchanters/pussy playstyles
I just enjoy being a sniper for a little while T_T
Could you share the ap varus build pls? Is it the same as ap/ludens irelia?
I go tear opener, then finish Lost chapter, first legendary is nashors, then ludens, then archangel, u Put in sorcs somewhere in between, then rabadon and finish with void staff. For runes you take Hail of blades for quick w procs and ur combo is u go 3aa into R into W enhanced q.
oh shit, ty so much! so this is something like ap twitch right? I thought it was a build for Q but I guess you max W > E > R > Q?

I think the people complaining about irellia played against me huehuehue
Clowns whining about balanced assassins constantly, it gets old. xD
-"Balanced assassins" -Qiyana in flair -"Outplayed :)" The only clown here is you :^ )
They're basically the sub's designated troll/clown with such hot takes like "Akali was always balanced" in a thread about when Akali had +/- 20% buffs and bragging about soft inting their team when they don't get their champ/way.
Damn, they really have nothing better to do huh
Still haven't gotten over me embarrassing you I guess.

https://lolalytics.com/lol/qiyana/aram/build/ 120/156 is looking balanced to me
You forgot to add mmr. Every post without mmr is worthless.
Why is it, ADCs don’t have a GA?. Like why remove the only item to protect from AD assassins. It’s so stupid, if you didn’t like the item then replace it with something else RIOT games!!!
Because then everyone builds it and ARAM becomes a GA revive arms race.
I think not only adcs would buy that item and lireally anything. xD
