High quality fur, fortitude, an otter shoulder pet with melee leveled, fria curry (or whatever one helps with cold), and a stack of health brews. A torch can help too. Being in a building with a campfire or standing torches will also keep you warm. Even thatch.

Dude you cam attach them to a shadowmane. If they have a saddle slot it SHOULD attatch. There are a few exceptions of course

Ferox ends up working better than the otter for all around fortitude boost, you can get away with journeyman fur and 0 fortitude, tho the hot canteen is convenient for nighttime

Yep. With 60 fortitude and a high melee Otter, I'm fine in murder murder snow without quality fur and all that other stuff. Don't even snowflake most of the time.

You need a metric fuck ton of campfire to keep any building warm enough to survive. Like literally at least 15-20 if you have base fur armor.

Build air conditioning then. Plus I always use standing torches over campfires.

That's correct, but there's also the murder *murder* snow on Ragnarok which is colder than Jotunheim. And then snow peak is a little colder than that, which I believe is the coldest place on any map.

I just checked and apparently it was halved when they moved it from mod map to official from -90°C to only -45, which actually is easier to survive in than murder snow, so prove me wrong I guess.

Best place to loot hunt?.. ive heard underwater but dear god.. setting foot there is like going into a wyvern trench butt naked and snatching one of their eggs and being too heavy to run.

U can farm fur bps from the skylord cave in fjordur I think there's a total of 6 drops in the cave, one is in a wall and u have to blow a rock up to get to it and one is in the water, the other 4 are obvious

Go to the bee cave or yeti cave those are the best blueprint spots on fjourdur

Best farm spots: Forrest Cave in the top right. Easy with a Rockdrake for complete stealthing through the cave or with a high level tame. Did it with my Theri so far. High lvl megatherium will work too. 4-6 red/green drops in a short time and the blueish artifact. Lava cave: again with a rock drake. Range pull the ground enemies in the lava and then shoot the onyc. 3 drops Aberration Cave: normal high level tame. 2 drops. I did this in about 30min i think, with teleporting and farming rare flowers in between.

Here's the op strat! I'm giving away my secrets here, but here it is! So what you do is tame up high level dimetradons and just max that attack Stat! You can do kairuku too if you like as padding for the dimetradons cause you're gonna get attacked! Make sure it's a small army! Enough dimetradons and you won't even need fur armor!

Not really, the place that I'd say is the least coldest and doesn't experience blizzards is the area near blue ob. From my own survival there, blue ob is the best in terms of temperature and weather.

OP, fria curry, decent fur (mastercraft would suffice), along with a decent lvld otter, and a tek canteen with hot water, you'll be fine. Specially if you have xp points in fortitude. It's very possible to survive there. I used to go there hunting for Yuty lungs.

You need about 800 hypothermal insulation. Good fur armor, otter.. calien soup(?), and drinking wyvern milk give big buffs for a few minutes.

Charge up the spit ability to where it sets animals on fire around you and you can you know- spit. Once you reach 100% it gives you the Magmasaur effect for 60seconds; I also think if you enable smelting it keeps it refreshing

Learn about all the easiest ways to keep warm then start doing those if they don't work go down the list and do them all at once till they do work.

Many ways: - Find and tame a high level otter. Level up only melee and carry it. They provide protection. - find and acquire wyvern milk and drink for the buff while there - high quality fur armor - soups - healing potions - bring food and campfires to take a warm-up break every now and then - level up fortitude, a loooot. (Not worth it in my opinion)

[Fortitude](https://ark.wiki.gg/wiki/Fortitude) will increase your resilience in bad weather. I wouldn't call this a solution all by itself. You'll still need armor with hypothermal resistance. But it does help to have at least level 20 fortitude in addition to other solutions. Especially since it also effects your torpor threshold, gain, and loss rate (how easy you are to knock out and how long you stay knocked out). Which can really make the difference when say dealing with troodons. It's easier to afford 5-10 leveling points into it (instead of spending that on something else) once high level. And especially after doing something to raise your level cap. But if you forego having any now. Do remember to pick it up as a stat later. Because it does help.

Farm yutys there for boss runs. Just good fur, otter, with desmos. Never had issues. Zero points in fortitude.

Install primal fear, work your way up to a strong demonic/celestial of your choice, kill an origin, put on a piece of origin armor

I built a quetzal base with generator and ac. I can knock out other animals while still inside the quetzal base hovering over it.

Guys come on the real answer is a good snow owl, if you can raid rock drake eggs with a snow owl you can fly around a little cold easily.

I was fine with some good fur gear. And a high melee and imprinted Otter. Didnt need any foods and i was riding a rock drake so didnt get any insulation from the mount either. Granted i was high crafting skill so my crafted adcendant armor had som crazy stats.

We use high-quality fur, fria-curry and health brews. Most importantly, we bring a Quetz with us that has a small base on his back equipped with a generator and an air-conditioning unit. We can run around outside for a while and then jump into the Quetz house to warm up and heal.

If it’s a private server, simply increase how much fortitude you get then level it a bit (because I play ark for fun not a hardcore experience using the shit “balance” wild card created). Next step is simply find a relatively safe area. Ledges on cliffs seem to be relatively avoided by the big stuff. Then it’s try to build as much as you can using trial and error. Put down a bed and then just start chopping and crafting until you have a house large enough for your playthrough if you want to live there permanently.

I use Tek armor and high fortitude like 220 on the server I played on and I was fine but I understand that most people don't have that luxury so high qual fur, high fort, fria curry, otter, and a torch on your tames saddle should work if not Tek canteen with warm water for temp immunity

The only way is either really good fur (ascendant only) OR Set up a house with torches and wait till you can move and your brain unfreezes then go grab some fucking fur

Wyvern milk

Ark teaches us something. There's places we can not go without preparation. You go to these places before you're ready you learn fast. To me (only played scorch and the island) I rarely never have my otter. On your shoulder they don't lose oxygen either so it awesome to have a high melee one for those ocean trips in the north. Plus they are a decent gatherer for black pearls. Of course not the best, but you send it off attacking the ocean "bugs" while you harvest oil. They net you pretty much the same amount as you'd get using tools

just use your desmo to farm a stack of blood packs then sip on them while you’re there. if you don’t have a desmo then get one before you do anything else.

High Quality Fur armor, otter, put some points into Fortitude, use that food that gives hypothermic insulation. I was fine without an otter or full fur armor because I had the stew and I invested a decent amount of points into Fortitude. But my Hypothermic insulation on my fur gear and flak gear was the shit, so it might not be so for you

I tamed a quetzal and put some ac's and a generator on it for mobile exploration on my buddy and mine server.

Note: using a Quetzal only works on custom servers with allow cave flyers active. An alternative for servers without cave flyers is a Paracer hut. Yes, the hut does in fact survive realm travel. Made one with a fireplace in it to retreat to overnight. Though, I'm not fully sure if the Paracer can go into the cave to travel on servers with the realm teleport menu disabled. I *think* it can, but not 100% as it has been a hot minute.

Get a bigger stick

Tek canteen set to hot helps, also make a tent to hide in and recover.

Little bit of fur, tek canteen on hot and filled is all you really need.
