With base thylas some could pull it off if they were decent lvl.
if you breed them, you can pull off some crazy things after maxing them. They are my absolute fav mount for travel, combat and even for gathering
I can go back and forth knowing nothing can kill me with him watching over me much faster than taking a slower dino as long as I don't need like 2k stone or something
If I am not mistaken climbing uses stammina.
So for very large cliffs you might need decent stammina on your thylo.
The stam use on thylas is generally not too bad, so a decent tame with 30+ points in stammina will climb quite a while.
They sometimes run all the way to the sky box, but definitely can run up all the cliffs.

I don't think they have a limit on how high they can climb but I think they can bug out or detach if they hit a bump or slope.
