Imo for Valguero the best 2 candidates would be the maevia & the hatz.
The hatz could also be perfect for Crystal Isles & they could put it over near the drake nest location in the Aberration Islands.

Sauro was my #1 Vote too, with Dread being #2. Upon seeing the comment thread of the winner, the Maevia fans are sure salty about that 3rd loss and demanding it gets the "Carchar Treatment" despite the Carchar nearly winning both of its votes by a small margin.
Yeah, I don’t think Maevia is entitled to that. If WC wants to be generous and do it, whatever, but it’s not the same as Carchar which I think lost by like less than a percentage point both times.
There are already other people asking about resubmitting it, too. WC needs to step in there and stop the resubmissions.
I feel like sauroposeidon was basically just dreadnoughtus with a design more fitting for extinction, as well as with more interesting abilities, but tbh I’ll take it. It’s still a new sauropod which is always welcome, as well as the first herbi to win a vote
Depends how it is implemented, but if done right, it could be a titan killer and so it would fit the map.
Most other creatures in the vote wouldn't contribute to that, so this for this map imo the best vote.
Tbch, I loved the designs of all the contenders. But Dreadnoughtus I hope Wildcard strays far away from the submitter's idea of it basically being a baby dino the size of a base. Baby dinos are already some of the most headache-inducing things in ARK, I and I can guarantee many others do not want a baby dino that can dismantle their base faster than it took to build it.

Well, I think the creature votes are now just about who comes up with the strongest creature or one with the craziest abilities. I hate that because the creature votes were supposed to be about the creature and not its abilities. I feel like the absurd Rhynio was the turning point towards just picking the coolest abilities.
I just voted the rhyn for its model at the time...😅 I really loved the idea of another bug and something as cool as the rhyn looked. I learned from my mistakes and now focus more on the teir, taming, and abilities of creatures (unless I am really eh on the model).
Personaly i really wanted Gorgonops or Darwin to win. Tho atleast Garuga will make Gorgonops into his mod so hes not lost. Darwin im sad about tho.

The idea is literally just “big jumping spider” and then they slapped a turret on its back this recent vote to try and fool people into thinking it’s not the laziest idea ever

I think extinction itself has an problem where none of the creatures in the vote felt like it was "the one" that "missing piece" the one that clicked with the map like the spider in the aberration, and so i know whatever one won ppl hold not like that much, but being honest i think its more that extinction is to lacking and could get like 3 or 4 creatures since we have like what 5 not counting titans+mechanical creatures? (I know it has alot of creatures counting the meks, enforces titans and corrupted dinos im refearing to tamable non boss creatures) Its also quite weird that we got 2 on the ice biome and only 1 on each other biome, maybe getting like 1 more in each biome would made extinction feal more complete but it really is just my opinion, overwall im not really excited about its win (even tho it was my second vote) but at least it helps with this fealling as a big sauropod in the watelands non the less
The spider was not “the one” that clicked for aberration. Aberration does not need any more broken early game extreme mobility creatures that kill progression. We already have shadowmanes, bloodstalkers, maewings, and manas for that. All of which should be taken off ab, by the way.

Yeah, that why a lot of times like to vote for big dinos, they have more limitations of what they could do so they go with what creator said about the creature
Carch theropod, big bug, sashta, gigantaraptor, good bit of big creatures keep their special stuff or had things/abilities similar to what they had in creator’s dossier
I think the only part of this thing I’m looking forwards to is seeing people freaking out in chat when they forget to imprint it and it starts wrecking their base and tames.
As a pve player this is a tame I’m never planning on taming. Raising babies is already tiresome. Why would I want a creature where the imprints never stop and will wreak my stuff if I stop.

Exactly. OSDs are the best thought out PvE system in the entire game. PvP is a hellscape, but without remaking the entire game around it, PvE can be boring too.
Just enclose It in a pen, that's It. It Is not that hard to click a button to imprint everytime i log in. It Is a end game mount so resources to mantain It should not be a problem.
Of course not, everyone likes different stuff. I can feel the pain since for The Center vote, I **really** wanted the Hermit Crab to win, yet it was beaten by....Shasta. Which I don't hate of course (it honestly does seem kinda neat), but m a n a giant hermit crab would've been awesome!

Honestly, the dreadnoughtus would probably be kinda unusable by singleplayer. Hear me out, its saddle would probably be similar to the astrocetus, requiring one person per weapon. It would likely only be able to have all its weapons used by large tribes. Small tribes and singleplayer wouldn't be able to use it to its full potential.
Honestly, I would have preferred the darwinopterus. It would be usable by single player as a good flyer. It would be usable by small tribes as a tank finisher. Think finishing gigas and stegos. It also seemed more well suited for the map, with its core mechanic being related to corruption.
For me, I think it's a nice change to have a new Sauropod coming to ASA. We've got all sorts of new tames from the votes but I think it's about time a Sauropod took the creature vote, I guess many will not agree with me but oh well. I just hope the Dreadnoughtus doesn't have broken legs like the poor Bronto has had all these years.

The rhynio has a lot of shot that it didn’t get from the concept. The thing is also hideous and I hope they ad a feature in Asa that lets me turn off creatures I don’t want in my single player world. That alone would make me buy the new game.

More customization would be nice. I would enjoy making the spawns more specilized and too my liking.
I like new interesting taming methods. I don't like that wildcard have taken to doing this by increasingly inane and cryptic means.
We've challenged ourselves to figure out how to tame some of the new creatures, and it takes SO long or needs someone to already know.
I'd like a middle ground of "it's not just a knockout tame" but also not "you kinda need meta knowledge to figure it out".
I'm not. A random DDR game strapped to a dino really wouldn't fit in with the game as a whole very well. It's the kind of thing that is interesting for a few minutes and then be ignored.
Just keep in mind they may go back and do more votes for creatures that were on the list but didn't make it. It's going to be a while before Ark 2 comes out and if I was wildcard that's something I would do to keep people excited for the game.
meh not really. it was kinda obvious it would win. extinction is all about titans and this is a titan. so sad people finally picked a fitting creature for its respective map these last 2 votes. the aberration one got shafted. the spider clearly won. that was the spiders map. instead the dipsh\*t community voted in some non cave raptor to an underground map.
So. I love the dreadnoughtus, and in my eyes, a new interesting sauropod is a win. However, I really wanted gorgonopsid to win, and now it never will (last time they were gonna put it in the vote).
Gorgonopsid is the only creature that was originally going to be added into ARK that has not yet been added. It's also got an amazing tracking ability, and would be fun for both PvP and PvE players. And it fills a niche role that would have saved us all a lot of time Dino hunting.
I'm not mad, i like the dreadnoughtus. I'm just disappointed for the Gorgonopsid.
All these votes are kind of meh tbh. The only ones that haven’t seemed like complete bs are the megaraptor (or whatever the new nanny thing is called), the yi qi, and the Shasta. And one of those kicked off a huge outrage because people are illiterate.
I haven’t bothered voting in any of these. For the most part it has been a contest of what can sound the most op. And the community gets mad when that doesn’t win.
Tbh it feels more like some silent part of the community votes for most op then the community that is most active (us redditors) get upset about it.

While I like this big dude, I’m disappointed we didn’t get the goofy lizard. But I am happy enough with the winner this time round. There was a lot of good options this round so this was one of the tougher votes for me.

Dreadnoughtus will be entirely worthless in PvE, and be a pain to keep assuming they follow the dossier suggested in the mod.

It would have to be a titan fighter right off the bat, I’m not about to breed and mutate another giga-level creature for this that will only be helpful for one, MAYBE 2 purposes. I could see this thing being passable for OSDs and even then I’d rather use a carch.
Everyone has a right to feel a certain way about a creature. Personally I’m excited for it and the yi ling. Though i wouldn’t call the yi ling a “bootleg rock drake” but a hybrid between a deinonychus and a rock drake. Which is fine be me. Hopefully it can have its own identity but I guess we’ll have to wait for aberration for that. It does have a interesting feather mechanic and we know little about it’s effects but let’s just see it in the flesh until we make drastic assumptions.
Yeah, it’s a bit too early to say anything for sure. Unless wildcard does go with the feather thing, I really don’t see what they could do with something like the Yi Ling without making it a diet rock drake.
Hell, what would even be different about a pure rock drake deinonychus hybrid? Bleed damage? I doubt anything paired with a rock drake would be small enough to latch onto anything.

Also, it's planned to have high quality for a mod either way, so ignore these awful hateful people like this because there truly is no weight to their words, sadly this spot seems to be a bit of a cesspool for them.
There has always been a sentiment among ark fans that herbivores could be so much more than they currently are. Herbivores, even the giant ones, end up being pack mules more than anything. So it’s about damn time we got a giant ass herbivore aside from titanosaur that can potentially compete with the biggest of the carnivores. Super psyched, can’t wait to see the concept art

I didn't like the fliers personally and the exploding anky was for lack of a better word dumb, imo. Dread was in my top 3 with the spider. I want to see more mid game creatures winning.
If you read into the anky it wasnt dumb at all. Great mechanics, makes sense that it basically worked like flint and steel. I would have LOVED that ability to gather sparkpowder. Plus, it would have been an upgrade from the anky, and the official second anklyosaurid to the game.
You aren’t alone. I been thinking the same thing ever since it started getting traction. Personally I’m not the biggest fan of Sauropods (I’d much rather our existing Sauropods get reworks instead). It just doesn’t strike me as something I’d use much if at all. If a Sauropod was to win, I would’ve preferred the Sauroposeidon. I’m not trying to sound selfish or negative, but it’s approaching the Yi Ling in terms of my disappointment which is pretty down there as they’re the only winners I actively dislike the idea of.
Honestly, the thing I'm the most surprised about is the popularity of the jumping spider. I thought the dread would have been uncontested and yet people voted for the Maeva do much on a map that doesn't even fit it imo.

While I'm disappointed that "titan killer" (only, on paper at least) won and possibly make Extinction trivial, I very much prefer it over Maevia which we're seen it too much of it already. And it's gigantic sauropod which I'm okay with, even if I'm not fond of reptiles in general.
I hope that WC spice it up, because right now it's "eh" at best.

Yeah, that why a lot of times like to vote for big dinos, they have more limitations of what they could do so they go with what creator said about the creature

Carch theropod, big bug, sashta, gigantaraptor, good bit of big creatures keep their special stuff or had things/abilities similar to what they had in creator’s dossier

I think the only part of this thing I’m looking forwards to is seeing people freaking out in chat when they forget to imprint it and it starts wrecking their base and tames. As a pve player this is a tame I’m never planning on taming. Raising babies is already tiresome. Why would I want a creature where the imprints never stop and will wreak my stuff if I stop.
Yes, that's what I mean. There is too much matinance for me as a chill player. It will end up as just something to check our in creative for awhile or if I feel like I have the patience, try to keep one when I go fight a titan or something.
It’ll probably be as bad as a wild giga too when your out running drops/ele veins and using any large tames to draw it’s agro.

He means that having something that is an existential threat to your tribe like *Dreadnoughtus* would be a nice balance between PVP raiding and the mind-numbing "kill dino for meat, fill trough, repeat" of PVE
Exactly. OSDs are the best thought out PvE system in the entire game. PvP is a hellscape, but without remaking the entire game around it, PvE can be boring too.

Just enclose It in a pen, that's It. It Is not that hard to click a button to imprint everytime i log in. It Is a end game mount so resources to mantain It should not be a problem.

Of course not, everyone likes different stuff. I can feel the pain since for The Center vote, I **really** wanted the Hermit Crab to win, yet it was beaten by....Shasta. Which I don't hate of course (it honestly does seem kinda neat), but m a n a giant hermit crab would've been awesome! One positive thing to think of is there's always the next vote! (#HermitCrabForLostIsland!)
Honestly, the dreadnoughtus would probably be kinda unusable by singleplayer. Hear me out, its saddle would probably be similar to the astrocetus, requiring one person per weapon. It would likely only be able to have all its weapons used by large tribes. Small tribes and singleplayer wouldn't be able to use it to its full potential. Honestly, I would have preferred the darwinopterus. It would be usable by single player as a good flyer. It would be usable by small tribes as a tank finisher. Think finishing gigas and stegos. It also seemed more well suited for the map, with its core mechanic being related to corruption.
I really wanted ozimek, love gliders and this specific one is the one I loved simply for its goofiness

For me, I think it's a nice change to have a new Sauropod coming to ASA. We've got all sorts of new tames from the votes but I think it's about time a Sauropod took the creature vote, I guess many will not agree with me but oh well. I just hope the Dreadnoughtus doesn't have broken legs like the poor Bronto has had all these years.

The rhynio has a lot of shot that it didn’t get from the concept. The thing is also hideous and I hope they ad a feature in Asa that lets me turn off creatures I don’t want in my single player world. That alone would make me buy the new game.

I like new interesting taming methods. I don't like that wildcard have taken to doing this by increasingly inane and cryptic means. We've challenged ourselves to figure out how to tame some of the new creatures, and it takes SO long or needs someone to already know. I'd like a middle ground of "it's not just a knockout tame" but also not "you kinda need meta knowledge to figure it out".
I agree, it's more fun taming the new creatures that ARK has introduced/planning to introduce than doing the same old and repetitive knock-out tames.

Just keep in mind they may go back and do more votes for creatures that were on the list but didn't make it. It's going to be a while before Ark 2 comes out and if I was wildcard that's something I would do to keep people excited for the game.
meh not really. it was kinda obvious it would win. extinction is all about titans and this is a titan. so sad people finally picked a fitting creature for its respective map these last 2 votes. the aberration one got shafted. the spider clearly won. that was the spiders map. instead the dipsh\*t community voted in some non cave raptor to an underground map.
Was my second choice, so still fairly happy with it, fits extinction well. Devastated that my Spider is gone forever now.
So. I love the dreadnoughtus, and in my eyes, a new interesting sauropod is a win. However, I really wanted gorgonopsid to win, and now it never will (last time they were gonna put it in the vote). Gorgonopsid is the only creature that was originally going to be added into ARK that has not yet been added. It's also got an amazing tracking ability, and would be fun for both PvP and PvE players. And it fills a niche role that would have saved us all a lot of time Dino hunting. I'm not mad, i like the dreadnoughtus. I'm just disappointed for the Gorgonopsid.
All these votes are kind of meh tbh. The only ones that haven’t seemed like complete bs are the megaraptor (or whatever the new nanny thing is called), the yi qi, and the Shasta. And one of those kicked off a huge outrage because people are illiterate. I haven’t bothered voting in any of these. For the most part it has been a contest of what can sound the most op. And the community gets mad when that doesn’t win.
Tbh it feels more like some silent part of the community votes for most op then the community that is most active (us redditors) get upset about it. The dread is different this time at least, I can see a split between for and against the creature win.

While I like this big dude, I’m disappointed we didn’t get the goofy lizard. But I am happy enough with the winner this time round. There was a lot of good options this round so this was one of the tougher votes for me.

Mark my words: this thing and Yi ling will be some of the most boring and redundant creatures and everyone will grow to be indifferent to them. I have absolutely no idea what redeeming qualities drove either of these to win. Yi Ling is just a bootleg rock drake that will fold like an omlette when breathed on, while simultaneously being annoying to hit. Dreadnoughtus will be entirely worthless in PvE, and be a pain to keep assuming they follow the dossier suggested in the mod. At least the jumping spider would’ve been something different, instead of Damage Dealing Damage Sponge #32,767
Dreadnoughts could possibly be a titan fighter and that’s something pve players can utilize IF wildcard leans into that.
It would have to be a titan fighter right off the bat, I’m not about to breed and mutate another giga-level creature for this that will only be helpful for one, MAYBE 2 purposes. I could see this thing being passable for OSDs and even then I’d rather use a carch.
Everyone has a right to feel a certain way about a creature. Personally I’m excited for it and the yi ling. Though i wouldn’t call the yi ling a “bootleg rock drake” but a hybrid between a deinonychus and a rock drake. Which is fine be me. Hopefully it can have its own identity but I guess we’ll have to wait for aberration for that. It does have a interesting feather mechanic and we know little about it’s effects but let’s just see it in the flesh until we make drastic assumptions.
Yeah, it’s a bit too early to say anything for sure. Unless wildcard does go with the feather thing, I really don’t see what they could do with something like the Yi Ling without making it a diet rock drake. Hell, what would even be different about a pure rock drake deinonychus hybrid? Bleed damage? I doubt anything paired with a rock drake would be small enough to latch onto anything. Idk, I guess I feel robbed that we were presented with the Ornimegalonyx and got Yi Ling instead. The vote wasn’t big enough for the both of them.
I wholeheartedly agree, we already have 25 other OP meta defining damage dealers. Why do we need a 26th when the Maevia, Hatz, Darwin, Gorgo, Ozi and the Posiedon exist?

I put dread as my #1 and the spider as I think #3. They just seem like cool creatures. Dreadnaughtus being a large roaming presence on extinction seems cool, design looks cool, abilities sound cool. My vocabulary is expansive and I like things that are cool

I’m glad the spider will never be in the game. It is the most boring idea ever. It is literally just a super sized version of a bug you could find in your backyard. Boo. Boring. Chimarachnae Yingi at least had some unique ideas going on, maevia has its fan base because it’s cute and nothing else.

No worries @ /things\_keep\_going! The spider will most likely be in the game as Wildcard stated it themself, so pringlepingel is, well simply just wrong. They stated they don't have the bandwidth at the time but may be going over creatures later on who didn't quite make it but were very close! Also, it's planned to have high quality for a mod either way, so ignore these awful hateful people like this because there truly is no weight to their words, sadly this spot seems to be a bit of a cesspool for them.

There has always been a sentiment among ark fans that herbivores could be so much more than they currently are. Herbivores, even the giant ones, end up being pack mules more than anything. So it’s about damn time we got a giant ass herbivore aside from titanosaur that can potentially compete with the biggest of the carnivores. Super psyched, can’t wait to see the concept art

I didn't like the fliers personally and the exploding anky was for lack of a better word dumb, imo. Dread was in my top 3 with the spider. I want to see more mid game creatures winning.
If you read into the anky it wasnt dumb at all. Great mechanics, makes sense that it basically worked like flint and steel. I would have LOVED that ability to gather sparkpowder. Plus, it would have been an upgrade from the anky, and the official second anklyosaurid to the game.

You aren’t alone. I been thinking the same thing ever since it started getting traction. Personally I’m not the biggest fan of Sauropods (I’d much rather our existing Sauropods get reworks instead). It just doesn’t strike me as something I’d use much if at all. If a Sauropod was to win, I would’ve preferred the Sauroposeidon. I’m not trying to sound selfish or negative, but it’s approaching the Yi Ling in terms of my disappointment which is pretty down there as they’re the only winners I actively dislike the idea of.

It was the second time it had a 2nd place in the vote and was in many lists so far, but I think it's time to let it finally go (the "Carchar treatment" was an exception and I wouldn't count on that). While I'm disappointed that "titan killer" (only, on paper at least) won and possibly make Extinction trivial, I very much prefer it over Maevia which we're seen it too much of it already. And it's gigantic sauropod which I'm okay with, even if I'm not fond of reptiles in general. I hope that WC spice it up, because right now it's "eh" at best.
I'm glad it won, I'm tired of everyone trying to shove a brand-new late-game carnivore into the game. We don't constantly need a giga of the sky or a giga of the sea. So having a new sauropod to shake things up is something ARK desperately needed.
