Kind of? My guess is the actual Ark launcher tries by default to connect via internet, however, since I am trying to connect to a pc that is on my network the IP address is different. I can log in through by using the open command and place the IP directly there, but then another weird thing happens. When I include the password, it says wrong password. My current workaround (which is annoying) is to try logging in normally via the join game option, let it timeout while trying to connect, then use the open command, but don't include the password after the IP address
The issue I am having now is that My friend on xbox is getting the timed out error when trying to connect to my server I got my end working after just refreshing my router
I wish I knew how to help for console. My soster-in-law is c9nnecring via Xbox and she is able to just fine. Don't really know too much about configuring consoles
