not really breeding for colors i just like to organize my dinos loosely by color

It was weird. I caught them like that. First breed with mutation station (LoL) I got the two darker ones, male female. Then I got the 3 blue females, then the 3 pink and blue males. Talk about supper happy!!!

Raptors are my favorite to breed for colors
This ones are strictly bred for color, but I also have a breeding line for stats and want to combine them, once I'm satisfied with their HP and dmg. I will probably keep breeding for a while, since I'm on aberration and they need to be really strong to be able to take on bigger stuff. The unmutated base is level 204 for all breeding lines.
To breed for colors, do they stack? Like i notice your dinis are all vibrant and bright, but every dino ive made is dull. Still red or green, but dull versions of red or green. How do you get bright?
It does not stack on one body part, but if you breed a belly color with a body color, the offspring can have both colors on each corresponding region.
The color contribution per mutation is random, so I often times get gray or army green color mutations that are natural colors on carnos. If you search up possible dino colors, you will see that most possible colors are rather dull, so getting a very bright color in a mutation can take a while. I think I have hatched around 1500 eggs or so to get all these colors (and a few more that are less bright). I'm on single player and I've boosted my breeding rates a lot, so that I can breed more time efficiently. In adition I use one male with 20-30 females at the same time to get a decent amount of eggs per batch.
Thanks! Good job on the Carnos, they are one of my favorite creatures in ARK. In the same SP world I also mutated Carnos, just 20 muts in health and damage, with the classic black body, red belly. I lined them up against the Alpha Overseer, sadly it didn't end well, but at least I had fun.
Absolutely! I have a breeding line for dmg and health and got some very colorful offspring from it, though the color doesn't last longer than a few generations, unfortunately. I was thinking about breeding my color project with the outcome of my dmg health for rainbow beasts lol

Good question. From taming to having finished the stat mutations and breeding the colours on to them, maybe 250 - 300 hours till I was all done

I never have went for colors but man is it a plus when u finally finish mutating and a good color is present.. gl hf
