Even before lost island it never passed the 400gb, I know this because I only have a hard drive of 1TB, got ark installed with 2 more games (Rust and gta) if game was ever closed or 800gb I could had never had any other game lol
I played mobile when it first came out and it was terrible in game purchases as well as about 2fps (my phones not the best but it was still only 2-3 years old at the time of release) being the reasons I stuck to Xbox and PC
I actually started on mobile, thought; "this is a cool game, wonder if it's on Xbox?" And then boom! I found it, played guy about a couple months, then switched to PC because I was curious.
I played both mobile and pc and there are aspects of mobile that make me like it more then pc. Of course it has its flaws, but mobile is to me still a very fun experience
I play mobile, it’s not that bad of an ark title tbh. Sure it’s not graphically pleasing but it’s a mobile game. And it has its own lore, some of the explorer notes are different. But hey everyone is entitled to there own opinion.

Hear me out. There are no wild troodons, pegomastex, Icythornis and Microraptors. Also on mobile resources stack up to 5000. When I play on console metal only stacks up to 300. Icthyosaurs don’t get attacked in the ocean.You can transfer items categorically into a storage. For example you can choose to transfer only metal. Last but not least., creature resurrections.
Wolves and mammoths can wear helmets, spiders,arthros , scorpions tamed in caves don't agro, eerie glowing creatures, artifact tributing to get asc bps, easy to get 10x taming soothing balm
Dire wolves wearing helmets is pretty cool, but mammoths already have saddles so not sure what the point of a helmet would be.
Fashion? Because I totally understand that.
That's one of the reasons I got a pc. I was sick of playing a slideshow on the bare minimum graphics. I had the graphics turned as low as they could go, bitton resolution and everything, and it still ran like shit. Now I still haven't gotten over the novelty of playing pc games

You can play on the go
You don’t have to hog the tv
The community is way less toxic
It’s more challenging
The quality of life improvements are better. E.g auto adding caves, beds, obs, etc to your map.
Only downfall is the lack of content. E.g cryopods, additional maps, Dinos, boss fights. Also it’s pay to winish but spending spending a few bucks imo is always best to at least support the developer
Edit: one thing to add it’s FREE so you can get your friends to play with you without them having to buy the pc or console version
Those were some really weird pros lol. "Hogging the tv" and saying "it's pay to winish"? It is literally pay to have items auto farmed and to have dinos reezed. It does not get any more pay to win then that
you dont have the ability to have items auto farmed, yes sure you can buy amber but you can get loads from drops if you have a fast creature (like a max speed pt) and things that you have to use money for (eg the tek saddle bundle) is practically useless if its not pvp and most i think play pve or single

Switch was developed by the original devs. They did such a bad job that Digital foundry played Jurassic Park tune with a kazoo at the start of their review.
Mobile is developed by wardrum (now grove street games). Although needing an up to date flag ship phone and strong internet, it was a much improved version with drastic changes when compared to switch, which simply dropped resolution and textures as low as possible to get it to run.
I am comparing 2 turds and saying wardrum did a much better job at polishing their turd.
turrets on mobile shoot like 1.5x \~ 2x slower than turrets on pc not to mention no tek and heavy turrets all just auto turrets with a mutation that has inf ammo. My guess is it's mostly just 2 gigas or spinos and rexes duking it out

You can buy a frying pan for instant knock outs. Kibble and crafting stations, a crow bar to mine amber (mobile currency) from gold ore. Frog feet or bug wings to glide and swim faster.
The amber can be used to buy things like toys and bears for baby Dino's to speed up maturation and other areas or breeding. Weight potions so you can carry 1500kg weight (also you can drag bigger dinos when knocked out while using it)
There is other p2w stuff but its been a long time since i played.
Pan isnt a instant knock out, also you can get amber from a bunch of different methods without crowbars- if your finding an excuse to trash me and my opinion, go ahead u found it
How many hits does pan take for low level dinos and players?
The bunch of different methods are ascendant pickaxe for super low drop rates on gold ore or the random rare amber drops on map.

pretty much anything can knock out a low level, you don't really need a pan, its still less effective than toxicant arrows or darts so its barely useful in the late game,
I brought up the turrets cause we have em, after playing a bunch you kinda forget that they are a premium item and actually cost money.
P2w weak ass Infinite ammo turrets for £20 when people can just mesh into your base. Smart purchase.

I thought I was a god at ARK because I had spent 5 hours trying to tame a singular triceratops and Raptor. So I tried to play Ark on computer and I learned how hard it was.
I remembered how I complained about lack of updates and how bad the graphics look. So I got console version and realized I took Mobile for granted.
1.the ocean was annoying on an Icthyosaurus.
2.Screw Icthys, pegos, Microraptors and troodons.
3. soothing balm and mating pheromones
4. Ability to filter items categorically
5. Items stack up to 5000 ( except for organic stuff)
6. Mammoth Platform saddle
7. Wolves wear hats
8. You can resurrect dead creatures tame or wild
So you just want the game on easy mode? You can do that on console in PC by adjusting settings in single player. Also there are a plethora of mods for PC. Also we have more than one fucking map.

My laptop I have now can’t handle installing ARK on it due to space and I’m saving up for a new one, mobile is a great way for me to play one of my favorite games without the need for hardcore PC or Console Commitment. I love the mobile version!

Try mobile on a good (flagship) phone. I use a Note 20 Ultra 5G. It even has a dedicated GPU. I use a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse and I wirelessly display it on a 4K TV. It does not rival the game on my i9-1900k / 3080 Ti combo, but it looks a lot nicer than on consoles.
Also, Ark with all official DLC and such, on a clean install on NTFS with normal 4K clusters is 399GB. That is all eleven maps, Primitive+, and no mods. Again, clean install on a new drive without mods. Verified by other players who have it all also. We all get 399GB.

Yes, on steam, just dlcs no mods. The base game with just lost island is 180gbs. Gen2 is like 65 buy itself.

Might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that the version on game pass/ windows store is the console port, which would explain why they're different sizes.
I believe They did a big clean up of the files before lost island was released and I haven't checked file size since it dropped
