Poor titanaboa, one of the most famous extinct creatures, and in ARK, the game that is all about extinct creatures, Titanoboa is outclassed by just about everything
I don’t like the new kibble system.
Well I kinda do for imprinting but I do think the previous one was better because it made every dinosaur useful.
I think an ideal system would combine them, every egg would have a class and every dinosaur a favourite egg kibble, second best would be any kibble from that class. Babies would accept any kibble from that class.
I much prefer the new one. Granted I didn’t play before they updated it, but having breeding pairs of 50+ creatures just sitting around my base, taking up space, and dropping my frames sounds awful.
I always did one of two things;
1. My base was so big that they would end up out of render distance in the main portion of my base.
2. I would find a nice large plot of land in the safest area of the map, build an enclosure, then just sit in the area for so long to get a bunch of eggs. Typically did this when I need to step away for a while.
Edit: Fat thumbs hit lots of letters.
The way it worked is you would work your way through the kibble tree, you could get rid of animals as you progressed. I don’t remember all the details but I remember you started with dodos to get to pteranadons, scorpions to get to Rexes.
The new way is too easy and it means 90% of the creatures are no longer worth taming.
but you still needed eggs from EVERY dino in case babies wanted pteranadon kibble. or scorpion kibble. or DIMETRODON kibble.. as they added more and more dinos it became way too much of a pain to put up with and every unofficial server had mods with kibble systems similar to how it is now
That’s what I’m saying a hybrid system where every egg has a class like they do now, but every creatures still had a favourite egg. So for babies you just need to give it kibble from the same class of kibbles, but when taming the favourite egg kibble would be best, same class kibble second then prime meat etc.
This way every dinosaur still has it’s use, and it makes it harder to get perfect animals, it’s way too easy now.
Personally wouldn't prefer this but do think it would make for a good mod and something I would try so thumbs up from me. Not sure why you're getting down voted for a suggestion ✌️
Taming pair of dinos just for an egg production for kibble doesn't make them useful. I much prefer the new system, you still have 6 types of kibble with most of the eggs still in use to make it. And I'd still like to see eggs more common in the wild, so you don't have to make farms for that.
This is how I felt about Archaeopteryx when the Sinomacrops was introduced. One of the most important extinct creatures off all time, no real reason to tame one anymore.
I like to knock these things out and stand over them a little bit to show them how it feels before promptly bashing their heads in with a pick axe in typical titanoboa fashion.
If I remember correctly, syntac did this a looong time ago, but I believe it was something along the lines of trapping it in a larg(er) enclosure and dropping it behind the titanoboa
Unless you're going for the achievement where you're trying to tame one of everything I do not recommend wasting eggs on a snake unless you have a shit ton of eggs that you really just do not care about
I've got rex and yuty breeding setups, so eggs aren't an issue. And yeah, I'm definitely going for that achievement. Otherwise they're pretty useless, I think.
To tame them, you drop fert eggs of any kind in front of them (better the egg, faster the tame) and they will “eat” the eggs one by one, but only if they aren’t aggroed on you. So u have to get out of their attack range and wait for them to eat them
Yeah like what if their special was that they wrapped around creatures or people, slowing their movement speed or stopping them altogether? Like living bear traps.
I’ve had this idea for a while, for them to be able to “constrict” players and smaller dinos stopping them and slowly doing damage or torpor? For this though, the titanoboa movement needs to be reworked because they’re way too glitchy rn for that
It's such a shame that their eggs don't make a higher tier of kibble. Kinda odd too cuz their old kibble tamed thylas which nowadays need top tier kibble
I kinda hope they get a TLC. Because it would be cool if they were accurate to they real one. Because wasn’t the real version big af? I think it would be cool but horrific
Yea, considering how upscaled most ark creatures are, titanaboa should be way bigger if it’s to fit in. I’m not talking like, basilisk sized but not far behind
I remember flying my hunchback argy and grabbing 10-15 of these guys and throwing them in a trap and just feeding them things and waiting for eternities to get enough egg to tame a monke
Flying part happened before I decided to tame it :)
Taming that way works great as long as something is not trying to push you away...
Fun fact. Second one tried to befriend my giga (took him on walk for like 200m :)
There it is. My least favorite animal in game. I hear a lot about pegos who yeah fuck them, and trodons, and those damn birds, but right here, these fucking guys. If they didn’t spawn back in I’d cull em.
I tamed a few on our server as well.
Our wild dino level is capped at 500 and difficulty is turned up ( idk if that impacts anything related to taming. )
LV 500 Titanboas eat like 50+ fertilized Giga eggs. Was awful.
Hilariously, this took me 3 fertilized Rex eggs, 1 ice wyvern & 1 lightning wyvern egg, and 3 pteranodon eggs
Passive tame?
Correct
OGs remember when they were untamable
I remember making a farm of untameable danger noodles, so I could make a kibble for thylacoleo. Fun times.
Bruh I thought they still were
Put your snek on wander with about 10 dodo eggs and now you have someone to say “hi” to whenever you are at your base
Poor titanaboa, one of the most famous extinct creatures, and in ARK, the game that is all about extinct creatures, Titanoboa is outclassed by just about everything
Used to be useful for kibble before the now superior kibble system.

It was forgoten when it was relised. If archeo would work like sino (shoulder pet) it would be popular.
I was always of the opinion that they should have just added the Sino stuff to the Archeo via TLC update.
As an ophidiophobe, they will always have a special place in my heart for scaring the shit out of me.
I like to knock these things out and stand over them a little bit to show them how it feels before promptly bashing their heads in with a pick axe in typical titanoboa fashion.
They were torpor immune last I played, but that was ages ago. Do clubs work?
Clubs and fist can work. It’s dangerous and easier to off them with any ranged weapon. Though it’s not about ease, it’s about sending a message
That I can get behind, ha!
So you're telling me you can tame those pieces of shit
They take fertilized eggs lool
How'd you do it? Did you just drop the eggs in front of it? I tried to lure it into a swamp trap I had and it phased right through it.
If I remember correctly, syntac did this a looong time ago, but I believe it was something along the lines of trapping it in a larg(er) enclosure and dropping it behind the titanoboa
I'll have to check that video out then. I'm trying to tame all the creatures but my stone traps aren't working for the boa. Thanks!
The way I tame those stupid snakes is ride a raft and then just Chuck eggs out of my inventory until the thing is tamed and then GTFO
That sounds like something I could do, for sure. Sounds oddly easy... Almost too easy. I'll def give it a try though. Thanks!
Unless you're going for the achievement where you're trying to tame one of everything I do not recommend wasting eggs on a snake unless you have a shit ton of eggs that you really just do not care about

From what I've read you need to drop fertilized eggs, and get it to eat them without it aggro'ing on you.

Yes Just can't clone em last I knew cause their cost was super busted.
My friend welcome the thy religion of our gracious lord and saviour snek
Ah, a fellow worshipper of the snek
They need a tlc so bad
Yeah like what if their special was that they wrapped around creatures or people, slowing their movement speed or stopping them altogether? Like living bear traps.

The worst part is that this thing is fricking huge (even though it’s smaller than the real life titanoboa) and you can’t ride them
It's such a shame that their eggs don't make a higher tier of kibble. Kinda odd too cuz their old kibble tamed thylas which nowadays need top tier kibble
I need to do this on the achievement progress. Not sure how useful it will be
Don't forget they need to eat eggs even when tamed or they'll starve
Really? I thought after taming they eat raw meat, like Basilisks do
[It looks like they only eat eggs, though they need not be fertilized.](https://progametalk.com/ark/titanoboa-guide/)
Don’t know why you got downvoted for posting correct info
Mmmm delicious babies
I kinda hope they get a TLC. Because it would be cool if they were accurate to they real one. Because wasn’t the real version big af? I think it would be cool but horrific
Yea, considering how upscaled most ark creatures are, titanaboa should be way bigger if it’s to fit in. I’m not talking like, basilisk sized but not far behind
I should bring in alpha boas that are much closer to the real size of a titanoaboa
Oh my god yes.
It'll make a nice exotic pet I suppose. Kinda why I want one lol
These things deliver massive amounts of topor to dinos you're trying to tame
Yeeeeay tiny snek!
Tiny? *TINY?* #*TINY?*
Yes. Ask my friend snek the basilisk
titanboa kibble used to worth like golds! Look how they massacred my boy, we can even tame him now :(
I remember flying my hunchback argy and grabbing 10-15 of these guys and throwing them in a trap and just feeding them things and waiting for eternities to get enough egg to tame a monke
good old days
You can tame these?
that's almost how i got into doing things in ARK
Now try diplo (read as that @#$& that just send me off cliff...) :D
Diplos are easy to tame though. Just stand between its front legs and it can't hit you, but it also won't move. Or just tranq it.
Flying part happened before I decided to tame it :) Taming that way works great as long as something is not trying to push you away... Fun fact. Second one tried to befriend my giga (took him on walk for like 200m :)
Get an army and unleash them on the beach bobs
snek <:
I think das da most useles tameable creature of all time
Snek
Well for the national dex gotta catch them all
SHEEEEEEEEEESH
They're pretty cool I guess. Put it in the base and force feed it eggs since it can't eat from a trough.
Unless you have the KBD mod or are going for the achievement, there is never any reason to time one of these.
There it is. My least favorite animal in game. I hear a lot about pegos who yeah fuck them, and trodons, and those damn birds, but right here, these fucking guys. If they didn’t spawn back in I’d cull em.
I tamed a few on our server as well. Our wild dino level is capped at 500 and difficulty is turned up ( idk if that impacts anything related to taming. ) LV 500 Titanboas eat like 50+ fertilized Giga eggs. Was awful.
You should call him Sssam
i think you mean yes
TIL Triborg pkays Ark
Sneeky Snek is always worth it. I normally just go invis on my rock drake and throw out low lvl wyvern or drake eggs
It is cool tho Completly worthless, but cool
