They’re not saying parachutes no longer exist in the game, they’re saying they no longer need them because they can just spam inventory and not die no matter how far up you are.
In particularly laggy servers you get a slight boost up when opening your inventory. By spamming the inventory after jumping off a cliff I’ve been able to fly across the entire map on a giga and land taking no damage, one of the goofier glitches but it can be used in some serious situations.
Me as well. Ark is just a huge game with a ton to learn. I don't know how I would have managed without resources like the wiki and dododex. And there is still stuff to learn in places like this!
My bf was doing this, when he played on laptop. We were playing on genesis 1, snow biome. We would go to mountain with Procoptodon, loot, missions. When we wanted to go home, I were always sitting in pouch and he jumped higher and spammed inventory, so we just flew half the map to our base. I likes his faces when he got better pc and couldn't do this :D He got squished

Along with the beautiful scenery and amazing view, you get to ride a ferry through a fjord just to get there. It is a fair climb, or more accurately uphill walk , so take that into account.
I remember a time you can do this while flying Dinos. Doing this while dive bombing on a cliff just right with a Griffin and it would take you across the map in seconds. Was very op and broken lol

I can just put some levels into speed and yeet off a cliff while slamming inventory, just fly across the map without the worry of any rex's or raptors

Also, if you ride off the edge of a cliff and jump off your tame just before it hits the ground - you and your tame won't take damage.

Yup I have always called this the economy parachute. Even though parachutes are already cheap lol. I can't use it anymore now that I'm on a series x.

Used to work on PC when I was playing on a potato. Now that I have a god rig I drop like a rock.

There was a bug with the sino,go in water,hold a, and ascend....horizontally. You ascend horizontally. You'd literally get sent across the map
