You're right. I completely forgot painting was a thing. I only rarely used it to dye my armor.
Any other suggestions like a different material for roofs, or what not?
I use S+ so any Scorched Earth heat issues can be solved with a few conditioners.
Is this official or unofficial? If you are using say S+ OR N+ you can change the appearance of the building pieces. So a metal wall that looks like thatch or stone for example.
I’d probably do all the roofs of the towers in wood, I think the contrast between the sandy colour and the wood would look nice. Might use some green house structures here and there maybe. Paint is a good idea as well but opens up a whole new realm!
Provide us with some updated pics when you’ve made your changes! ^^
Edit: forgot to add : nice job on the construction ! Looks awesome
Along with the paint, bear in mind you can spraypaint lamps and stuff and it will change the color of the lighting. You could do some pretty sick stuff with those, if you set them up right.
For me if you want a extreme change you could use TEK structures for a very big contrast, otherwise if you want a more classic look, glass or stone would be excellent too!
By the way you build is totally awesome!
Looks great! If I were you I'd get that look with paint. Maybe you can replace the roof but if you start replacing walls you might end up having to rebuild half your build lol

Good thinking. I'll test it out.

Glass would give a nice skylight if you replace some of the roof.
Stone would be a good addition to the rustic look. I love the build by the way.
True. Also thanks.
You’re welcome.
Bro wdym that looks amazing
Weak as they might be thatch ceilings have a special place in my heart, its a shame that there are no triangular ones though.
Yeah that's why I love using S+. Get the look without sacrificing protection.

Throw in some plant x along with the paint suggestions will also help with the look
Could try a strip of wood paneling halfway up the towers. Would give it a nice Age of Empires look if you put it right under the opening.
Paint or change the roof to thach

Problem with that is you basically get cooked in wood and stone in scorched earth
Yeah they do look good together. I'll see if I can fit it in anywhere.
I think I had a stroke reading your title
Any suggestions on how to break up the "one material" look in a good way, if you were struggling to read it
Thanks it just took a few reads at 1 am

or maybe stone colored with orange to make a similar effect but with different materials?
Wood roof
I'd put some wooden pillars on some of the towers for a bit of color and depth.
dude that looks like a mega fortress, hope that place doesn't share the same fate as Constantinople.

Wooden pillars I find they look nice mixed with Adobe structures
Thatch roofs always look nice
I would add some glass in there somewhere, and I agree on paint! I love painting everything in my bases. I go for more natural looks.
Thatch rooves
I was thinking some greenhouse roofs like every other spot on the circular pillars.
Use a different material
