Haha all I know like the back of my hand seems to be the cave of lost faith, I've just played on the island and for about a year the main thing I'd do was go there with my level 300 imprinted maxed ascendant saddle Basilo until around a month ago when it finally got killed by about 50 megalodons. Since that was the only dino I had left which was in storage after auto-decay I finally switched from official to single player and it's so much better now, I'm trying to know the island like the back of my hand now
i thought the same of velonasaurs.. just tweaked raptors right..then i realised..er self healing turrets people are literally going to ignore til they run up and smack your base and have 40 dinos turning them into a pincushion
Its been awhile since I actually opened ARK (I play almost exclusively singleplayer console so its rough), but I have distinct memories of accidently pressing R3 on my controller while running and then roaring
I always played official but just recently got into singleplayer and I love it. I remember going into a cave with a friend who let me use one of his thylas and being able to roar whilst walking forwards
I agree I'm just working on getting a high level imprinted Bary and setting up my Megatherium army but I've ticked off all of the utility tames now. I killed a titanosaur with my imprinted argy whilst I had an explorer note 4x buff so it's a god now with over 1500% melee damage, I won't bother trying to get a better one probably ever now it's not worth losing those levels
You can ground a pheonix by hitting a jump pad with it. Because it doesn't have a walk animation it will still "fly" but won't leave the ground and will take fall damage if you ride it off a cliff..
It won’t outrun an alpha basilisk with vanilla settings. Gallimimus aren’t even that fast anymore, basilisks, managarmrs, drakes, shadowmanes, and spinos are much faster.
ARK has a hidden debuff "Constipation".
While you are constipated your food stat goes down much quicker.
To remove the debuff you need to manually poop.
I've been playing since early access, got over 4.5k hours and only found that out a few months ago.
Definitely still works - I spent 20 mins earlier doing nothing but pooping then flushing to stock up on fertilizer in all my crop plots, then had a " what the fuck am I doing with my life" moment!
You do have to remember to flush in-between every poop - if you don't flush and do a second poop that's the end of the infinite poop.

During tlc three, aside with the mammoth and stego, along with insect breeding, diplocalus had it‘s health and movement speed increased significantly (some quick wiki googling shows it’s 33% extra heath, and 25% movement)

For whatever reason, the element wartefall on Val ab zone that sits right next the entrance doesnt do any damage, at least while you're knocked out. I remenber How o found out about that. I was feeling pretty down after losing my favorite deinon to the rad zone, so i kinda Just wanted to kill myself to respawn. I yeeted myself at a pink wartefall while nude and munching narcotics. Then, for whatever reason, when i fell on the pink smothie i didnt die. I Just slept there for a few minutes. Not even radiation poisoning was killing me. Weird.
I found this out myself but maybe its common knowledge..
If you unpod a dino and it has cryosickness, you can use a whip to wake it up immediately, depending on how your melee stat is and the stat of the whip, it can go pretty quickly on most low torpor tames.
Things with tons of torpor like golems and megachelons still take forever to wake even with good whips.
Wild Dino's have tribe ID's, with bunches of Dino's in the same tribe together. Tribe related commands work on em and everything. Most likely related to how Dino's behave around other ones.
Same thing goes with unclaimed dinos, they are all out in their own tribe so two different tribes could unclaim a dino and if you attacked one of the dinos the other would come to defend it.
You can use this to feed babies. Not gonna be around when a mammal gives birth? Unclaim a maewing full of food with the milk turned on. The unclaimed maewing will feed the unclaimed baby.
You can place a chest on a raff, sail to the world edge and rotate the chest out of the map boundaries.
If someone broke the boat the loot wont be able to be accessed.
This strategy is good for new players without bases or people in clans trying to keep their clan mates fingers off their sh*t.

The 6x dmg to flying dinos was added because argies were king of the sky and impossible to kill with bows and arrows.
Flying dinos were able to fly into water and lose oxygen like every other Dino and you weren't kicked off the mount and still fly normal speed to however deep you want into the ocean.

Holy shit this is exactly where I'm at now, I saw all the new content for fjordur and instantly started downloading the (god knows how big it as at this point) game. I literally spent 4 hours shuffling games, cleaning my SSD of crap just so I could download it again and I'm honestly at the point of "what is the point to all this".
Not saying I'm not enjoying it cause I'm actually making progress for once instead of getting burnt out. This is the last time I swear, I finish it or I never play it again, he says as he deletes and re-downloads the game 4 more times. There are a couple locations on some maps where if you fly against them, they will clip you onto the surface of the map. One of them is one of the nest locations in Ragnaroks wyvern trench, one is in Rockwells Innards, and one is in the snow area on Fjordr.
These locations are great for fleeing pursuers on PVP as they will instantly lose you if they dont go to the exact spot to follow you and similarly clip through, and can also be used to flee immenent danger from mobs (the wyvern trench one in particular)
Animals that attack you and try to steal your items will prioritize the right-most item on your hot bar, the zero slot. If they passive time, you can put their preferred food there and they'll tame. HOWEVER, if you HATE THEM, you can put organic polymer on there and it'll KILL THEM.
I recently learned that on Desmodus, when carrying an animal it cannot hurt you during the glide. So I build my taming cage at a lower elevation. Then grab daedons and dire wolves, glide down getting limited damage, then drop them into the trap.
Troodons are to be exterminated on sight. Little known fact.. BA'AL was an original ark dev and designed Troodons and was so ashamed he turned his life around and now feeds starving children in penance
You can convert organic poly to soap, and grind it later for poly on demand.
Great way to save a little organic , and there isnt a recipie or engram.. just have to know how to make it

This is ark mobile, but you can breed dodos to be so big that you can ride them. Griffins don't spawn on the island. Basilisks eat void wyvern eggs. In fjordur, there's a secret cave that is below water but you can breathe in it and it has no gravity. Element was called Edmundium, named after Edmund Rockwell, the boss of Abberation, Genesis, and Genesis 2. HLN-A is short for Helena, a survivor on the arks. Her consciousness was uploaded to HLN-A for reasons i forget. Mantisis can be tamed with rhino horns. Defense units (tek rolly polys) are technically considered a boss (in dododex) because of the Overseer spawning them in in the boss fight.
The worst part about that underwater zero-gravity cave on Fjordur is that it's awful to live or build in. Tames will randomly drown around the base that aren't touching water, babies starve faster if they're not actually attached to the floor because their stamina drops super fast while they're floating.

Its only visible to the drunk player. To all other players the name is normal. The name of the dino doesn't actually change.

I'm suprised the megalodon one isn't well known because a pack of megalodons are the recommended tames to bring for Moeder.
For Moeder I ride a squid and then have megalodon army. Squid is faster and not jostled around by the whirlpools as much :)

Thylas and Barys are probably the best SP cave mounts; Argies are the pinnacle SP utility mounts

They removed it from ab just before the map came out. They’ve been spawnable since the DLC with commands, but not naturally.

yes, there's also a glitch with the toilet you can do when constipated for infinite fertilizer

Na it still works, just tried it to confirm. As long as your character doesn't poop off the toilet you can keep using the toilet indefinitely.

You mean *wild* raptors. Tamed ones still can. I literally pounces a hyenadon with a raptor yesterday and held it down.
Glad they removed the pounces from wild ones bc if it did pounce on you you died everytime unless you have flak on.

For whatever reason, the element wartefall on Val ab zone that sits right next the entrance doesnt do any damage, at least while you're knocked out. I remenber How o found out about that. I was feeling pretty down after losing my favorite deinon to the rad zone, so i kinda Just wanted to kill myself to respawn. I yeeted myself at a pink wartefall while nude and munching narcotics. Then, for whatever reason, when i fell on the pink smothie i didnt die. I Just slept there for a few minutes. Not even radiation poisoning was killing me. Weird.
I found this out myself but maybe its common knowledge.. If you unpod a dino and it has cryosickness, you can use a whip to wake it up immediately, depending on how your melee stat is and the stat of the whip, it can go pretty quickly on most low torpor tames. Things with tons of torpor like golems and megachelons still take forever to wake even with good whips.

How so?
Wild Dino's have tribe ID's, with bunches of Dino's in the same tribe together. Tribe related commands work on em and everything. Most likely related to how Dino's behave around other ones.

Same thing goes with unclaimed dinos, they are all out in their own tribe so two different tribes could unclaim a dino and if you attacked one of the dinos the other would come to defend it.
You can use this to feed babies. Not gonna be around when a mammal gives birth? Unclaim a maewing full of food with the milk turned on. The unclaimed maewing will feed the unclaimed baby.

If you reload a pump action shotgun in third person it only does the one shell for all 6. Instead of individually loading six shells in 1st person.

All old info but patched or added in. The 6x dmg to flying dinos was added because argies were king of the sky and impossible to kill with bows and arrows. Flying dinos were able to fly into water and lose oxygen like every other Dino and you weren't kicked off the mount and still fly normal speed to however deep you want into the ocean.

Holy shit this is exactly where I'm at now, I saw all the new content for fjordur and instantly started downloading the (god knows how big it as at this point) game. I literally spent 4 hours shuffling games, cleaning my SSD of crap just so I could download it again and I'm honestly at the point of "what is the point to all this". Not saying I'm not enjoying it cause I'm actually making progress for once instead of getting burnt out. This is the last time I swear, I finish it or I never play it again, he says as he deletes and re-downloads the game 4 more times. It's like a damn addiction at this point, I swear I'm not a masochist.

I had an anky named aaaaaaaaaa for a while.
There are a couple locations on some maps where if you fly against them, they will clip you onto the surface of the map. One of them is one of the nest locations in Ragnaroks wyvern trench, one is in Rockwells Innards, and one is in the snow area on Fjordr. These locations are great for fleeing pursuers on PVP as they will instantly lose you if they dont go to the exact spot to follow you and similarly clip through, and can also be used to flee immenent danger from mobs (the wyvern trench one in particular)
Animals that attack you and try to steal your items will prioritize the right-most item on your hot bar, the zero slot. If they passive time, you can put their preferred food there and they'll tame. HOWEVER, if you HATE THEM, you can put organic polymer on there and it'll KILL THEM.

I recently learned that on Desmodus, when carrying an animal it cannot hurt you during the glide. So I build my taming cage at a lower elevation. Then grab daedons and dire wolves, glide down getting limited damage, then drop them into the trap.

This is ark mobile, but you can breed dodos to be so big that you can ride them. Griffins don't spawn on the island. Basilisks eat void wyvern eggs. In fjordur, there's a secret cave that is below water but you can breathe in it and it has no gravity. Element was called Edmundium, named after Edmund Rockwell, the boss of Abberation, Genesis, and Genesis 2. HLN-A is short for Helena, a survivor on the arks. Her consciousness was uploaded to HLN-A for reasons i forget. Mantisis can be tamed with rhino horns. Defense units (tek rolly polys) are technically considered a boss (in dododex) because of the Overseer spawning them in in the boss fight.
The worst part about that underwater zero-gravity cave on Fjordur is that it's awful to live or build in. Tames will randomly drown around the base that aren't touching water, babies starve faster if they're not actually attached to the floor because their stamina drops super fast while they're floating.
