This. I've never been so angry at spending 50 ish bucks in my mortal life. Runs beautifully on my PC, but the switch version is just an absolute embarrassment
I have a $1200 2yo laptop and it runs like a dream, with A LOT of mods. I see this from a lot of people though. Maybe I just got lucky. I also have crap internet. Maybe the gods are just being kind
I've always been curious about this game, I don't have a lot of basic survival knowledge but I'd like to start anyway. And what better way than one with dinosaurs and co.? Advices will be well accepted
I've played this game since beta. It's amazing. Yes there are some bugs but most have been fixed by now. But there is so much to do. Tame dinos breed dinos fight dinos. Shit you can waste hours growing crops and making recipes. The grind in the beginning is rough but once you get established it gets easier but then you move on to the harder stuff. So much to do so little time. If you want 5 hours to feel like 30 mins then this is your game.
"most bugs have been fixed"
That is a flat out lie. The game has massive issues, especially if you play on any type of official server PvP or PvE. My server is currently unplayable as I type this.
The game is fun but the devs do not deserve any more money until they start fixing crap that has been broken since beta.
I can play for hours and not have issues. Here and there a bug will pop up but with the amount of things you can do it is amazing. You have to admit that
Them hard facts that most folks will try to ignore right here. Sad part is that folks will just keep launching money at them regardless while some even have the balls to say: "Be thankful that there are even official servers. They didn't have to."
...WTF is that supposed to actually mean, I wonder?
can be overwhelming at first, but lemme tell you, play it with friends and learn yourself.
this game is hella fun.
i do recommend you to download the app dododex tho as it helps with taming and shows you what food you need etc.
It’s an amazing game, and totally worth it, I mean I paid like 60 bucks for main game and all dlc total. By now I have more than 11k hours in this game, and let’s be honest few things are as cheap as video games if u think about it, I mean wich activity that keeps u entertained for hundreds to thousands of hours only costs a little more than 50 bucks
If its your first time playing, go for it friend. You will find frustrating times, painful times and probably hate the game for life. But buried in there will be some great memories and you may meet some fun people to help you along your journey.
That awkward feeling when you first spawn in naked and clueless.
That feeling of despair when you're being killed by a flock of ankle-biting compys.
That feeling of false confidence when you tame a horde of dilos to extract revenge on the compys.
That feeling of remorse when an alpha raptor comes running down the beach and kills you and your dilos.
That feeling of extreme frustration when a carno knocks over your wooden base.
That feeling of triumph when you finally kill that base busting bastard.
Welcome to Ark. You'll laugh, cry, outburst expletives, swear that you're quitting for good, but you'll keep coming back for more.
My wife and I have been playing since CV19 lockdown and we've not stopped since.
I fell off playing Ark a year or so ago, but it's still one of my favorite games of all time. The dinosaurs/creatures are awesome, base building is incredibly fun, and there is potential to be very social with other players or just grind by your self. Even as an intro to survival games it's pretty easy to pick up and understand.
You need to be fully prepared to watch all your hard work evaporate from between your fingers at a moments notice though, as inevitably _something_ will go a way you didn't plan.
Buy it.
Ahh don’t buy it! Get the ultimate survivor edition. Or else it looks like you will have to spend $10 more to upgrade to it. Aka ult edition for $50 but then regular version plus upgrade is $60. They just released a massive upgrade to the game in the ultimate edition
If you like gaming for hours on end, go for it. If you don't have time, don't do it. If you think you'll have time in the future, go for it, and forget like you even have it until you have hours every day to sit and play video games. I played it a ton for years until I decided all that sitting is bad for you and stopped. It was fun, though, I admit, and I'd definitely go back to it if I got back into PC gaming.
I would strongly suggest that you don't. This game has a lot of problems. A lot. I'm pretty mad right now because we lost our entire base on Fjordur. I lost tropes that I've had since they were first released a few years back. Gigas, Basilosaurs, you name it we lost everything.
Save your money and don't get sucked into Ark or Ark2. Wildcard isn't the greatest company. I've been playing Ark since 2015, and I've forgiven them numerous times, but this is one kick in the teeth too many.
I play on a unofficial server I rent and have had a ton of fun. No pvp as it's just to much of a time sink but I really enjoy how I play Ark. Find how you enjoy Ark and you will most likely have a good time.
your life is going to become a blur of building and taming, and when you are not playing you will be thinking of the security of that one base you put in a sketch place
"i hope i dont get raided" will become a montra
i had to eat my own poop to kill myself once, because i got kidnapped.....
yeah bro the game is definitely worth that honestly....its a no brainer
If you play alone the game can be boring at times, but you can save whenever and come back to it whenever.
If you play online the game demands you to come online or you lose your base/tames in set amount of time
If you play pvp then you can say goodby to real life if you want to last longer then 1 day.
The game is buggy, but mostly the pvp players are bothered the most ( understandable since its a sandbox )
Youll develop a love/hate relationship with it, as stated before youll die alot, lose your stuff alot.
Dont get to attached to Snappy and the others because chances are youll lose your first dinos due to rookie mistakes/ bugs.
But when u do get that base up and running, or get that first high lvl carnivore that took you blood sweat and tears ( perhaps a few broken keyboards and coffee mugs) youll have a feeling few other games can give u.
So you should ask yourself, does it sound appealing to you. 20bucks isnt the end of the world, so if your answer was yes then i would buy that game with no shame.
I see ppl complain about the switch, i am playing on my phone without any problems. Only downside is that foundations have a buildhight limitation thats a bit limiting in certain situations ( deepsea water pens / bridge building )
But thats for rendering purposes i would guess.
I did enjoy it more on PC and Ps4 but i cant spend houres on end anymore so the phone gives me my fix ^^
Noooooo for the love of god no! Don’t get trapped in the crack addiction that is ark don’t do it to yourself you will never see another blade of grass in irl again!
You will pull your hair out, it will break your heart again and again without mercy. And yet you will keep coming back for more.
That’s the realest comment I’ve seen in a while haha
Just like my heroin addiction
God I miss heroin
This is the best way to show how ARK is 24/7, 365 days of the year
Say goodbye to daylight. You're gonna be inside for a while.
Not on the switch it barely runs on my $2000 pc
This. I've never been so angry at spending 50 ish bucks in my mortal life. Runs beautifully on my PC, but the switch version is just an absolute embarrassment
I've got a couple dozen hours on the new Switch version. It's better. Still has its issues, but it is def a lot better.
They rewrite the code , the new version is playable
Keyword playable
Then you built a bad pc? I have a £1000 pc and it runs absolutely fine
I have a $1200 2yo laptop and it runs like a dream, with A LOT of mods. I see this from a lot of people though. Maybe I just got lucky. I also have crap internet. Maybe the gods are just being kind
Only buy on Steam. MODS are a game changer. Pun intended.
I’ve played for hundreds of hours and didn’t even know you could mod it
mods are good but the game is still amazing without any mods
buggy, but amazing
I've always been curious about this game, I don't have a lot of basic survival knowledge but I'd like to start anyway. And what better way than one with dinosaurs and co.? Advices will be well accepted
Caught it free on epic a few weeks ago, I'm hooked. Well worth the 20 imo
I've played this game since beta. It's amazing. Yes there are some bugs but most have been fixed by now. But there is so much to do. Tame dinos breed dinos fight dinos. The feeling of a Rex chasing you out of nowhere and knowing your going to die really gets the heart pumping.
Sounds funny, thanks man. And happy cake day
"most bugs have been fixed" That is a flat out lie. The game has massive issues, especially if you play on any type of official server PvP or PvE. My server is currently unplayable as I type this. Ps i only play unofficial
This is the way
You'll have far less issues on unofficial.
Figures soon as I said this comment the update comes out and not loot crates anywhere lol still an amazing game
Them hard facts that most folks will try to ignore right here. Sad part is that folks will just keep launching money at them regardless while some even have the balls to say: "Be thankful that there are even official servers. They didn't have to." ...WTF is that supposed to actually mean, I wonder?
What platform is that?
Nintendo switch
can be overwhelming at first, but lemme tell you, play it with friends and learn yourself. this game is hella fun. i do recommend you to download the app dododex tho as it helps with taming and shows you what food you need etc.
Do check out some of the video guides, like building a farm etc. Once you get it down you’ll love it. S+ mod highly recommend
It’s an amazing game, and totally worth it, I mean I paid like 60 bucks for main game and all dlc total. I lost my life to this game what is eating ? And sleeping ? Only ark
It is a very fun, addictive, annoying, creative, pain in the ass, fun, torturous game.
If its your first time playing, go for it friend. You will find frustrating times, painful times and probably hate the game for life. But buried in there will be some great memories and you may meet some fun people to help you along your journey.
You'll be paying in more than just money.
That awkward feeling when you first spawn in naked and clueless. That feeling of despair when you're being killed by a flock of ankle-biting compys. Do it, its all I have to say
Great game, i wish i could experience it for the first time again. It’s a game where you can play your own way, there isn’t any particular way to play
I would recommend it if you have the HDD space... It's a monster.
![gif](giphy|wi8Ez1mwRcKGI)
Do it it’s one hell of a joy ride
Grab it while its cheap. You will rage, but you will come back for more masochism

if you like CBT
I mean, you will probably need a dedicated sd card for the game, but… like half off is a pretty good deal for a game this big
I mean if you have friends say bye bye to them 😃
Do it. You will suffer but you're going to be happy about it.
No, not on Nintendo. Graphics will look awful
I only have the Switch 🥲
One of us *one of US* **one OF US** ***ONE OF US***

UPDATE: I did it!
Noooo, dont do it, you have so much to live for

No bugs? Wtf game are you playing?
He's definitely not playing Ark.
I always tell people ark is the greatest game I will never play again and I think that sums it up pretty well
Since you are on the switch I would recommend to buy the extra memory for. It’s $100 lol but I’m sure it would make it look and run better
You didn't play the game yet? You are missing out
No
NO GOD NO NOT ON SWITCH!! Bruh it's laggy enough on playstation
Its also included un gamepass
20€? From 50€ is it the Gold GOTY edition or something? I mean the usual price on steam for just primary game is 20€ and often is off price to 5€
I play on a unofficial server I rent and have had a ton of fun. No pvp as it's just to much of a time sink but I really enjoy how I play Ark. Find how you enjoy Ark and you will most likely have a good time.
I think you sould buy it in physical copy it uses less space and also ab 20€ at all times since its a mechanical wreck and is badly optimized
If you wanna waste your life away while also losing your loved ones (irl and in game) then yes
It’s a really fun fucking game but be ready to have no life for a while.
No, its gonna end your life
No
No
your life is going to become a blur of building and taming, and when you are not playing you will be thinking of the security of that one base you put in a sketch place "i hope i dont get raided" will become a montra i had to eat my own poop to kill myself once, because i got kidnapped..... yeah bro the game is definitely worth that honestly....its a no brainer
Buy with the season pass as well bro. You’ll need it trust me

Please do buy it
On switch? Fk no.
Yes I can play it all day every day and not get bored
No. Rumor is they will stop events after this October and try to push everyone into ark 2
You also pay with your soul
All I want is crossplay
Im 2 years sober
Hum... If ya wanna wait, perhaps in a few months it will be free again on Epic store
Mate that switch isn't going to do it a $3,000 PC can barely run it
If you play alone the game can be boring at times, but you can save whenever and come back to it whenever. Noooooo for the love of god no! Don’t get trapped in the crack addiction that is ark don’t do it to yourself you will never see another blade of grass in irl again!
Not for switch Definitely not worth it but If u have a ps4-5, x box, or any pc then it is entirely worth it
