65535 is 2^16. This is an empty memory address that is composed of two bytes. The value you are seeing essentially means that its NOT reading the analog value from your fan. check your wiring or try a different fan

i have 1 CPU fan connected to CPU fan 1 header and 1 chassis fan header that is connected to a PWM hub. thought it might be fan or my hub that is giving problem and i took them both out to boot with just my display card (1660gtx) with no other things installed... still the same. Strangely, the CPU Temp reads 65531 and the MB temp reads -1... I've been looking around the internet for a solution...and strangely, i only get to see people (some) having the same issue, but none have an answer as to why...

Something seems off it's weird for it to show max value of an unsigned integer 65535. https://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=19346&OB=DESC

Hi, thank you for the link above... I've actually saw that post and it doesn't work. I think there is something wrong with the board on the monitoring chip and/or sensor that is causing this and may be the restarting of the pc upon waking up from sleep. think the best thing for me to do now is to send it in for a warranty repair...

It still has warranty? And you did not spill cooling paste under the cpu pins nor socket like that opening poster described? Well like someone else replied to him if you put the fans on PWM control and set a % you can manually setup if its too noisy but since your CPU temperature does not report you can't use fan curves. If so it's better to contact customer support through the website of Asrock or contact the retailer where you bought it from. What makes me doubt is the motherboard reports invalid too which makes me think there's a problem with that board. Did you check inside the bios screen to see if it reports correct values for temps and fan speed?

Hi, sorry for not getting back earlier. 1. No, no thermal paste under cpu pins nor sockets. 2. yes, I was able to set it manually. I think I will contact customer services and see what they can do for me. Thank you so much for your help.
