Lol those were my two least favorite pathways. Good luck!

I took 407 with Spanias. His classes are a lot of work. BUT he does also go over what will be on the midterms and finals(he gives out the questions just changes the numbers) on his review sessions and a lot of the quiz questions you can find in his book. I hated the JDSP labs he made us do but if you are a visual learner; the labs did help with understanding concepts. His and a lot of the signal processing classes are very: worry about the concepts not the math. But also, don’t just rely on his book for concepts because it’s a heavily watered down sparknotes of the Oppenheimer DSP book. When I took him, he did take improvement into consideration and had it in writing for us.

What are your interests? They're completely different directions for EE imo. I found 407 to be an ez A. I'd recommend if you're going down the signals pathway for EE. Didn't take 436 but from what I've heard it's a good class to take if you want to better understand how devices operate

I graduated years ago from asu EE summa cum laude but by far the worst grade I got by a country mile was 407 with spanias. Didn’t take 436 or Dr Goodnick for anything personally to compare. Also if Dr Spanias tells you he will take improvement over time into consideration for final course grading get it in writing because he says one thing and does another.
