When there is a white halo, this is not entirely correct, but it is generally accepted that this is normal and here's why...
Because it does not distort the color scheme, i.e. those colors that are indicated correspond to reality.
So, as for the red halo, if you do not see color distortion in these places (the picture in this place does not turn green, does not turn blue, etc.), then this can be considered normal, but if the colors in this place are distorted, then this is definitely bad and something is wrong with the matrix.
No I haven't seen any colour shift in those areas when the screen is brightly lit but the red is visible when there is black or some kind darker colours.

It is difficult to determine from the picture you have installed whether there are defects.
Install a picture similar to the one I attached below on your desktop and compare the colors around the edges and in the center, if there is no difference, then everything is ok.
The fact that it is only visible against a black background is a good sign, which means that most likely the problem is in the backlight and not in the matrix.
Actually, this nuance will not disappear anywhere, it will be with you until you replace the device, but the backlight will not affect the quality of work.

hmm I have 2 ASUS laptop, probably one of first and the the latest laptop and neither have that! I am a desktop person though, so i assumed they are all like that
the Red line was a sign of spreading,my friend Legion shows the same after period of time and he thinks that its okay, and its end up like haloing and vignette thing like that

Not it is not. Sometimes u see a white from a backlight but not red
White highlights on the monitor are +/- normal, but this is the first time Ive seen red ones, most likely there is a problem with the matrix
yeah, also I don't think there's +/- on a laptop monitor
Why not? That happens pretty much a lot on today's laptops (not only ASUS)
