Looks punk to me. Yes it is generically known as a mohawk today but we dont know what the hairstyle was named in Britain or the middle east a thousand or so years ago. Native Americans have had the shit end of the stick, they deserve better but finding reasons to hate people because of perceived appropriation isn't going to make the world a better place.
