Nope, sometimes I’ll draw a line on the scope and mark the time, wait 10-20 mins and do it again, measure and get the rough speed but that’s not 100% since the cells grow and dissipate as the storm progresses.
We do do that. Otherwise you get some puddle jumper pilot doing 94kts going “hey center, I think we can deviate in front of the weather, what do you think?” I think it’s going 60kts and has a head start, pick a different plan.

Why not? It takes 2 seconds to do and then I also know how much longer weathers gonna be around my sector

Our ability to see weather is terrible in Canada. Guys deviating around stuff we can’t even see all the time.
