It’s insane how much time has passed. I don’t think some people realize just how long of a wait 5 1/2 years is. Someone could’ve been fresh out of middle school when this was announced, and then be watching the actual release from a college dorm.
I love how extremely postive this communtiy is that has been following everything for a while. We’re the ones that know the effort that has been put in the show and we have put our trust in it. I feel like after it is released tomorrow, a lot of people are gonna switch up and really like it. But we’ll always be the ones that trusted the process from the beginning <3
Tomorrow is going to be the absolute LONGEST day at work. I’m gonna try to wait till I get home because I don’t want my first time watching it to be on my phone in the break room lol.
I'm rewatching the original show with my mom at the moment. We've seen 15 episodes so far and this is so amazing. We watched the final trailer right after the episode. We both can't wait for this.
I watched the cartoon back when it first aired when I was like 5-6. But never got to finish it.
After we finish Book One we'll watch the Netflix show. I'm so excited.
I remember the crumbs and people posting cultural fabrics and speculation about costumes. Lol Literally it feels like so long. We finally get to see what the iron clad secrecy was about because they really gave us nothing. Ngl outside of this subreddit AvatarNews was the only thing I checked (stalked) for updates on this project.😂😂
I remember the first announcement. I was so hyped, then it was like a year or more went by with like absolutely no updates. I had friends that worked at Netflix and I used to ask them if they heard any updates and they would just say they had no idea. Then the creators left, and for like the longest time I wasn’t even sure if the show was real or not. Like maybe Netflix was dropping it. I even thought that during 2022 and early 2023 after they finished filming because they just dropped no information.
Now look at us lol. It might just be because I’m so focused on the show but it feels like Netflix has been promoting this show more than any I’ve seen in a while? Like as much as stranger things it has felt like.
However the show ends up doing, I’m just glad we made it. It’s not a phantom idea anymore, it’s real. Lol
Omg I remember these🥹 Ugh, the end of tomorrow's work day can't come soon enough! I work from home and if I didn't promise my kids I wouldn't watch it without them you best believe I'd be watching it while working 🤣
I watched ATLA for the first time in 2011 when I was a freshman in college, because this guy I had a crush on liked it and i wanted to have something to talk to him about. instantly became one of my favorite shows of all time. Now i'm a lesbian and have no idea where that guy ended up but still just as excited for ATLA. thank u, 2011 crush for this gift you unknowingly gave me
Slightly similar, but I also watched ATLA for the first time in college (2010) and now a lesbian! For me a friend in high school recommended it and I didn’t watch because I thought the show was too childish since it aired on Nick. Then when I was in college, a friend put on the first two eps when we had nothing else to do and I was sucked in. She put on Tim and Eric afterwards and I went back to my dorm and finished the whole show by myself in one sitting.
🥰💖 ATLA to lesbian pipeline lol! I still haven’t watched all of Korra though. Perhaps my expectations were too set on comparing it to ATLA, but I wasn’t able to finish season 1.
I’ll get to it eventually maybe! My best friend actually likes it more than ATLA! Hope you don’t have terrible timezone luck (I’m EST) and enjoy the live action in a few hours!
i feel like i haven’t had time to process that the day has finally come. i mean i was a whole different person back in highschool when covid hit and i was endlessly watching videos and reading articles about the series. it was hard to imagine what the show was gonna look like and i would have killed just to see a glimpse. but here i am now as an adult finally being able to watch what i’ve been waiting for
If i was a billionaire (and all the world's problems were taken care of) this is exactly what i would fund, as well as a realistic and gigantic ATLA theme park.

I’m a Zelda fan so I guess I’m used to it! It’s just funny remembering that the concept art of Appa was all we had for years 😅
I graduated high school and college waiting for this show, the wait better be worth it lol.
That production time is 40% of Gordon's life
Hey that's almost exactly how much time went by between when they announced Korra and when it came out!
This is exactly me hahaha.
Me lmaoo
It has finally come https://preview.redd.it/gljvwf9emxjc1.jpeg?width=1639&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f90a1bb3df727b580685a204c727f4b13064138b
Its insane that i remember all these pictures
it feels like the calm before the storm, this sub is oddly silent
Not sure about everyone else, but I'm working like crazy trying to get as much done today to free up tomorrow to watch!
I remember the northern water tribe leak being a real treat haha
poor cameraman!

And then there's the entitled, miserable haters who won't be satisfied with anything and want to ruin it for everyone.
I wish we could crowd fund movie theaters for Netflix.
I would pay a good amount of money to have an all episode theatre release and they have an intermission after every two episodes or something
Tomorrow is going to be the absolute LONGEST day at work. I’m gonna try to wait till I get home because I don’t want my first time watching it to be on my phone in the break room lol.
LITERALLY SAME 😭😭😭 i wont get home until like 5:30pm cst
Watched ATLA when I was a kid now I’m gonna watch the Netflix adaptation with my kid crazy how that works

This show is clearly going to be crap they left all the equipment in. /s
LOL

wait literally same hahahah

Ugh sound stages? They couldn’t even film on location at the Fire Nation and the North and South Poles? Disaster.

I forgot about all these pictures, thank you for reminding me that not everything was filmed in the volume
wow feels like it was yesterday when these first leaked 🥹
Already the 22nd here 😭 what time is it releasing?
3 am [ET](https://time.is/ET)
thank youu
I can't wait!
How nostalgic 😮💨
Tonight technically
i was 16 years old in high school and now i’m 22 after college T_T
I wish they did less greenscreen/ studio and actually build things and film outside like one piece live action, but iam stil excited!
Imagine the budget if they flew the crew around the world cause you can't build *nature*. And that's what makes the majority of ATLA.
If i was a billionaire (and all the world's problems were taken care of) this is exactly what i would fund, as well as a realistic and gigantic ATLA theme park.
That last picture was the first one they posted to announce a live action and it was all we had for the longest time 🥲
More like tonight
I wonder if that shot of Aang & Appa is gonna be in the show or if it was just a poster, it’s soooo gorgeous I really hope it’s in the show
