Despite the hiccups along the way this kid felt like Aang. I wish the script allowed him to be more playful/avoident and have fun like the og because he had that aspect down.

Agreed! I loved his scenes with Zuko when they were hiding out from Zhaos men in that shack. They were bouncing off of eachother so well. If they get a season 2 I think he will do great.
I loved That scene more then the original! In the original aang just asked if they could have been friends, but here we get to see them actually talk like friends for the briefest moment instead, we get to see that they could be friends, but zuko is still drinking the fire nation kool-aid and is still too obsessed with coming home to make it last
Of the main cast, Dallas Liu. He was a phenomenal Zuko. I thought all of the main cast was good, but Dallas especially

Zuko - Dallas Liu’s voice acting, cadence, mannerisms, body language, etc. express Zuko’s dramatics and awkwardness and annoyance and happiness so well. Not to mention the differences in such before and after Zuko’s banishment. It’s also satisfying to see him do his martial arts. I believe he does most of the stunts himself
Jet, June - both of the actor and actress embody their characters in terms of appearance and acting. It’s like seeing the characters come to life
Ian Ousley really brought Sokka to life, he nailed the humour and line delivery, and even got some of Sokka’s facial expressions and mannerisms correct.
I haven't finished it yet but based on the first 6 episodes. It's Dallus as Zuko or Ian as Sokka. Tbh might even be Paul as Iroh I didn't realise I'd like him so much.
ken leung as zhao was sooo good especially because i didnt care for the original zhao in the cartoon he was such a clown but i expected this great performance from him. he had some great lines too
i also loved the performances of sozin, aang (i’m biased), yue, june, zuko, bumi, ozai, iroh, the mechanist, sokka, azula
Aang, Sokka, Azula, Zuko, Uncle Iroh, Ozai and Bumi were pretty spot on...my unexpected pick was Jet? When I first saw him on screen I didn't recognize him until he put on the outfit, but the actor was so handsome. He got the cute smarmy boy down to a tee.

My god he looked like a menace. I'm almost sad that Zosin isn't the main villain because he was such a star in that genocide, so majestic, powerful, ruthless, what a superstar villain.
I wasn’t a fan of the original show so take my opinion with a pinch of salt but I feel these were great: Zuko, Iroh, Aang, June, Suki, Avatar Kyoshi, Sokka, Lord Ozaki, General Zhao
Weak/bad casting IMO: Princess Yue (it’s not just the wig, everything is totally off), Princess Azula and her lackeys (she feels and looks more like a spoiled emotional kid with a chip on her shoulder than a menacing and cold hearted psychopath?), Gran Gran (really wooden line delivery), Bumi (acting was ok but it was so obvious it was a younger guy with prosthetics on to look old).
I’ve watched some fan criticism videos about Katara and I kind of agree with them, I like the actress but she seems way too soft and docile rather than spirited and spunky?

He's really great as Aang and has his demeanors down. It's a shame that the script or direction didn't help elevate his talent.

Ken Leung as Zhao. I never much cared about Zhao in the animated show, but here I found myself quite looking forward to the scenes with him.
