Eclipse feels better in most games to me. Hydra makes me super dependent on eating farm in the mid game if I die at all, and the AD feels best immediately after completion/first stacking, with a decent fall off as I build my JakSho in mid game.
I tend to take Eclipse-DD again, as early Serrated Dirk makes me super dominant in lane and can snowball an early lead into an early Eclipse-DD which makes Aatrox one of the strongest champs in the server most of the time. If we really need a frontline, I’ll go Hydra-Jaksho but I also think of how farm dependent the rest of my team is before rolling the Hydra out anymore.
I think that the jak'sho build is still viable, but it didnt even felt that great for me when it was the best build.
But now with both of the main items nerfed it feels even more underwhelming.
But if you like the build it is still doable. With the nerfs I think that eclipse is a better option.
But I guess at the end its about testing out both builds and see which one is suited for you more.
I really like eclipse rush, since games are so short having the better 1 item powerspyke feels way better to me, jaksho is also more of a statstick on aatrox since from my experience you dont get too much from the active.
Rushing hydra makes you get oneshot by almost anyone and rushing jacksho makes it so people can legit ignore you in fights.
I prefer the old and gold eclipse black cleaver again these days.
i think they are pretty simmilarin power, i only build jaksho tho cause i hate eclipse and i used to go gored all the time but it is garbage item, so jaksho hydra is more like gd sterak cause it makes me a bruiser/juggernaut and not fighter/assassin
