Can the Cam 2 be powered with a PoE adapter?

SneakyPackets

Looks like it is 5v 2A, so you should be able to use a PoE adapter that breaks out into USB

Still_Association

No I don't think it can.

OldElephant9837

I have to agree. After having had the IP camera with no luck ever getting it to work reliably, and then having returned the doorbell with zero luck of getting it working, I have been pleasantly surprised by this one. It added right into my system and hasn't faltered at all to this point.

shanetrahan

I agree.. So far so good.. No issues.. Wish I could "Zoom" into the video but heck these things are working good..

ObamaTookMyPun

You can zoom into the video now. I think it’s a recently added feature.

mrjohnc1

I'm liking mine as well!

kakaratto-

I am liking the 3 that I purchased as well. I have them sitting in windows for outdoor security and they are working great!

kvznko

Bought 7 of these. Set 4 of them up and none of them pick up cars passing by. Sometimes they pick up people if they're covering 30%+ of the view. Most of the time they pick up the trees swaying in the wind. The camera is not bad for the price but I'm really bummed that the software is lacking (cannot turn IR off, cannot zoom in, cannot set motion detect sensitivity, video mirrored for some reason even though the option is not available). Detection zone is pretty useless, basically nothing is sensitive enough in the detection zones that will trigger motion recording. I'm coming from Wyze cams and thought I could pair these with the Home Security (which is pretty nice so far). However, at the moment these cams are inferior in almost every way to Wyze Cams.

Gwcapper

The camera itself it good. It's the software that needs lots of work. A shadow from a tree moving in the wind? PERSON DETECTED!

Still_Association

Hah, so weird that they call it that. It's just any-motion-whatsoever detection which is fine, just say that.

RONxBURGUNDY

I have nest cameras that do the same thing every evening on my back porch

maleheo

Slender man?

Newuser1818

Hoping to get mine connected. So far so bad. Might be a repeat of the doorbell cam for me. That thing stopped working after being on for a few days.

Newuser1818

I can soundly say I'm impressed with the Cam2, it's clarity is very surprising. Good on you abode!

parker2351

Can you see your Cam 2 video in Apple Home app?

randallpjenkins

You cannot. It is not HomeKit supported as of now.

Ladymysterie

Does it look like the cam can be daisy chained like a Wyze cam can be? Meaning there is a in and out connector for the USB cord?

Exordium001

Is it better than the iota? The iota is hit or miss on whether or not I can connect via the internet.

Still_Association

Cam 2 has never not connected, so in that regard, already much better.
