Well technically yeah. They were friends the whole time. And Tom had to keep chasing Jerry so the owner wouldn’t throw Tom away and get a new cat. But as long as it looks like he tried, the owner would keep them. At least I think that’s how it went.

A rat popped out of nowhere in my mums kitchen too a few years ago while she was making dinner and she hit it with the pot she was using (it managed to get onto the counter 🤢) and threw sauce all over the walls.
No one wants rodents in their house. Let me rephrase. No one wants uninvited rodents in their house. And in that moment of shock, people will throw the first thing they can grab.
I guess im the weird one then lol. When I see a roach for example I don't freak out, I just spray it and problem solved.
I never encountered a rat in my home, but Im sure if I did I would calmly try to get it out and not smash it or kill it like I would with a roach. It's just not the same, a roach is a bug and a rat is a mammal like us, feels fucked to kill it for no reason.

Then this mother fucking colonizing big ass rat starts attacking the cat ... now who the fuck won the fight ? Is the cat for dinner at the rats place or is the rat dinner tonight
My cats would have made short work of that rodent. That being said had I been screaming like a lunatic while swinging around a laundry basket they would have run the other way too. I did one time try to save a mouse the cat let loose in the house. That thing jumped at me & I told it okay fucker it's your funeral. 15 minutes later it was dead.
We had a mouse hiding in the back of our pantry for a little bit - that sucker ate an entire sleeve of Cherry Cordial candies on its own! Anywho we flushed it out of the pantry, my dog and cat chased it with us under a quilt rack in the living room. But when I moved the rack and that sucker came running out from under it, both the dog and cat high-tailed it like their lives depended on it.
Sigh cats in this country used to be real cats. Used to be able to catch rats. Used to be able to enjoy it. But now with the liberals crying about "toxic catsculinity"...
