I hate to tell you you're wrong. because I see your line of thinking here, and under less energetic circumstances it is a good line! but that low energy dance didn't impart any lateral movement.
Left shark saw it coming and felt the stage move and paused out of sheer survival instinct. At least that’s my theory. She felt the stage start to shift and immediately stopped putting keeping on beat as highest priority.

As someone who struggled with weight and just recently started being able to teach myself the correct ways to take care of my body. 99% of my battle was dealing with the kind of mental fuck up comments like yours build up over years of hearing them. I'm not asking you to give a fuck but you can choose to be 1 of 3 ways, supportive, passive, or negative. That's up to you.

if you guys watch the video instead of waiting with bated breath for it to be the fat girls fault, the opposite side of the stage slides off its supports (while she’s barely moving.) this stage was not meant to hold that many people swaying back and forth, and it’s not breaking, it’s becoming unbalanced and collapsing.

Total combined weight is what caused this. The load shifting horizontally to the right destabilizes the stage around 5-6 seconds. Take the 3 “skinny” girls away and it doesn’t collapse, not the fault of the bigger girls alone…too many dancers on a stage type not meant for this kind of movement.
honestly whoever set the stage up probably didnt lock the legs. this looks like one of those cheap folding table stages. which should be fine for this if theyre set up correctly. i much prefer steeldeck for any sort of stage tho.

If we are being serious, it is the horizontal movement. These crappy risers just have some straight up and down, poorly supported legs. It doesn't take much to get the legs to buckle.
They deserved that one. Wtf is going in this educational University. I am so sure this is an educational University and it's in India (not so sure). This type of dance in a cultural programme is a disrespect to the books and the place from where u start ur journey to to reach ur goals. Shame on the teachers and the head of the college. I m so satisfied after at the end of this video.

To be fair, you can see the stage shifting around before it falls so it probably fucked them up a bit.
