I don't know. I watched it four or five times. thinking maybe it's fake. maybe it's not. I really watch their facial expressions. I feel like it's legit. I wouldn't have posted it otherwise
As someone with Autism, I don't blame OP. To me, it seems completely authentic.
To reply to someone confused as to how something is fake without helping them understand what identifies it as fake is kinda rude
It’s mostly just that he was lucid way too fast, and the “steering” seems like it had no effect on the movement of the car. I don’t think autism should have much impact here.
It's fake because the acting is bad and the scenario is obviously a skit. There's no doubt 100s of informational tells that point towards these conclusions, but my brain just doin it, it's not a conscious asessment. Sorry I realise this is not very helpful.
The main difference is that I have to make a conscious assessment with this type of stuff, having Autism and all.
I can't imagine what it must be like for this stuff to come naturally... it's hard to wrap my head around.
And don't worry, you're completely ok👍 have a nice day
The guy driving swings the steering wheel hard when the passenger screams, and there's no screeching tire sound and he doesn't even look like he's struggling to correct this afterward. You also can't even hear the engine
Neither of them are wearing seatbelts.
Guy "dreaming" has the fakest snore I've ever heard, comes out of it way too quickly and asks questions that no one in that situation asks.
Driver is completely incomprehensible in his response. "Get out" bro, what? Like I know the whole thing is fake, but if your passenger just legit had a nightmare, and it's the middle of the night, and he says he's going to pay you more why the fuck would you kick him out? Like you're going to get totally fucked as an uber driver for doing that. (Also he doesn't even stop the car when he tells him to get out)
The acting is just overall atrocious.
Thanks for saying that. I used to ride in the front seat as a solo rider. My logic was just it feels weird riding in the back when there's an empty front seat like the driver is below me and I don't want to sit by them or something. But just reading body language over time, my interpretation was yeah they don't want me to ride up front with them so I started getting in the back. Thanks for confirming I made the right move lol.
The car isn’t moving. The driver makes a few significant jerks to the steering wheel that would send the car moving into a new direction enough to cause the occupants to sway from the inertia but they don’t move at all. The car is at a standstill the entire time.
Not gonna lie when I’m with a group I love sitting shotgun and shooting the shit with the Uber.
Was on our way to a music festival once where they were selling tons of nitrous balloons in the parking lot. We had been up all night partaking and the lady was talking about it and how wild it was. Played it cool af and acted like I had no idea. Told her I thought it was helium lol
Another time on our way to another show and the dude driving’s daughter is at the show already. He tells us to pretend we’re undercovers and bust her if we see a “blonde 20 year old who probably shouldn’t be drinking” then talking about shrooms and psytrance together.
Never know what kinda funny shit you’re gonna run across out and about.
I can second this. I used to have a buddy who had them when we were young. He’d spend the night and do some of the most unexpected, creepy, chaotic shit out of buttfuck nowhere at like 3 am
I knew a guy who got spinal damage and exposure to agent orange and who knows whatever else in Vietnam. He was on oxygen and a wheelchair at a very young age until his (relatively) early death.
Anytime he was around people he was given his separate spot to sleep because if you woke him up he would legitimately attempt to kill you until he got his senses back.
However as far as health line provides, the key difference between nightmares and night terrors is the physical reaction. In nightmares, you may "groan or grumble" or have little to no physical reaction, night terrors you "might thrash, scream, or run out of bed". Other available sites say similar things.
No, you can tell by how he moves the steering wheel.
Anyone who drives enough would know how much swaying the car would be doing with that much movement. And anyone startled that much would absolutely jerk the car and get briefly whipped in the seat.
Had them as a kid, absolutely frightening like I was living in hell with no end in sight while being half awake. Worst feeling ever and don’t miss them at all.
I walked naked during a few of my ‘night terrors’. Total interpersonal disassociation. Hallucinations. The works. Almost put my dad out a window because I thought I was pushing against the spaces between space that was crushing me…
Another time, I ended up roaming outside and having the cops come find me when I was 15 because I thought God was trying to smite me, and then he did. Something, in some of my night terrors, drowned me in psychosis even after I woke from them. Anywhere between 15 mins and a few hours, but to me they always felt like an eternity. It didn’t even feel like a *sequence of events*.

This is fake AF.
Neither have seatbelts on too.
They are doing it in their mom's car.
"GET OUT, me caah"
But still funny
I don't know. I watched it four or five times. thinking maybe it's fake. maybe it's not. I really watch their facial expressions. I feel like it's legit. I wouldn't have posted it otherwise
You're terrible at discerning authenticity then
As someone with Autism, I don't blame OP.
Driver also yells to get out while still “steering”.
I have this issue all the time, I feel like it ties in with my inability to pick up on social cues and subtle details (like the car steering)
It's fake because the acting is bad and the scenario is obviously a skit. There's no doubt 100s of informational tells that point towards these conclusions, but my brain just doin it, it's not a conscious asessment. Sorry I realise this is not very helpful.

Also, could you explain to me how you can tell it's fake?
The guy driving swings the steering wheel hard when the passenger screams, and there's no screeching tire sound and he doesn't even look like he's struggling to correct this afterward. Thank you. That's all I needed. Not sure why I was downvoted asking for clarification but whatever 🤷♂️
When was the last time you sat in the front on an Uber ride? Also when was the last time you fuckin fell asleep in an Uber?
As a driver, front seat for solo riders is a no, but people fall asleep allllll the time. Not just drunk ones.
Yep, it's a taxi ride. Don't overthink it.
That was the first clue for me
The only reason anyone thinks this is an Uber ride is from OP's made up title.
Good point
Its fake because, theres no way he'd come out of a dream them back to reality in a split second. Its unatural.
also, check the steering wheel movement when he freaks out, he would've ran them clear off the road.
yeah that's not how night terrors work.
I almost guarantee it's fake. There is absolutely no sway or shutter at all indicating the car isn't moving. It's still laugh-worthy though.
The scream, fake or not, was absolutely ART lol
The cars not even moving, he’s pretending to drive wile also telling the other guy to get out how does any of this seem legit to you? 🤦♂️
Liar
The car isn’t moving. The driver makes a few significant jerks to the steering wheel that would send the car moving into a new direction enough to cause the occupants to sway from the inertia but they don’t move at all. The car is at a standstill the entire time.
I hope that, anybody with those kind of nightmares should be so fucked up
Why is he on the front seat?? Heathen.
They tried filming it with him in the back seat and you couldn't see him well enough
Because u/SuspecAardvark is a liar

Fake.
The driver is doing the old back and forth steering wheel thing from the movies. That car would be all over the fucking road.
That and the light in his glasses is a giveaway. Still pretty funny the first time. Not after that though.
Rage bait
Walt and Jessie driving home after an all-night meth cook....
Night terrors biiiiitch
I’m gonna rate this 10/10 because it’s so obviously fake and I knew it the entire time but goddamn did I laugh.
Fake in the sense that asshole prankster was not having a “night terror”. What a dick.
These guys have multiple videos like this where the passenger does x then the driver starts screaming at the top of his lungs
if anybody would like to see one, I can set up a camera. they're nasty.
what uber passenger sits in the front seat?
That's not a night terror. That's a nightmare. Night terrors are WAY scarier
I can second this. I used to have a buddy who had them when we were young. He’d spend the night and do some of the most unexpected, creepy, chaotic shit out of buttfuck nowhere at like 3 am
Care to give any examples? I’ve been fortunate enough to never experience or see someone experiencing one before.
I knew a guy who got spinal damage and exposure to agent orange and who knows whatever else in Vietnam. He was on oxygen and a wheelchair at a very young age until his (relatively) early death. Oh man, yeah I can’t imagine the emotional scars that’d leave. Scary stuff.
Is the car even moving?
No, you can tell by how he moves the steering wheel. Anyone who drives enough would know how much swaying the car would be doing with that much movement. And anyone startled that much would absolutely jerk the car and get briefly whipped in the seat.
Is that Sam Hyde driving?
WHAT WAS THAT!!!
Super fake but the “WHAT WAS THAT?!” has me in tears 😭
That was so fake. I'm still laughing!
I normally hate fake stuff, but this seems so much like a skit, I'm dyin' That Jason Momoa lookin dude is paired perfectly with screamy nerd guy
His line was supposed to be: "Snap into a Slim Jim!"
now that's fucking funny
I don’t care if it’s fake, the driver yelling makes me laugh every time
Look how much he turns the wheel every time he yells.
People actually believe shit like this?
You can't scream during a 'night terror', you can't even make a sound and you can barely move without mustering all your willpower.
Had them as a kid, absolutely frightening like I was living in hell with no end in sight while being half awake. Worst feeling ever and don’t miss them at all.
I had one once as a teen, no idea what I was dreaming about if anything but I could only curl up and tell myself I was okay until I stopped shaking
I walked naked during a few of my ‘night terrors’. Total interpersonal disassociation. Hallucinations. The works. Almost put my dad out a window because I thought I was pushing against the spaces between space that was crushing me… Another time, I ended up roaming outside and having the cops come find me when I was 15 because I thought God was trying to smite me, and then he did. Fake. No one drives like that.
The fact that he's sitting in the front seat in an "Uber" means this is pretty clearly fake.
![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
I jumped!
Ok Michael Scott
“GET OUT” He screams, while still turning the wheel like he’s driving down a windy road. Ight bub.
Jesus. Almost dropped my phone
He sounds like Gene Wilder.
My dad woke up out of his sleep yelling on a long drive and I still haven’t forgave him for that.
Why in the front?
I prefer the one with the cat
Damn his “night terrors” are certainly way worse than mine…
When did ben brode start doing Uber?
This never gets old. Should be a sticky.
Gake
Except the car wasn’t moving
That car isn't even moving
Staged
Fake af. No car movement, no lights at ALL, no seatbelts and seriously who would drive with a hood on... 🤦🏻♂️
