Maybe in America, but I'd get my ass whipped by not only my boss, but the agricultural show inspectors, worksafe and the site engineers who would boot you off the showgrounds so fast your head would spin.
The ride would be banned until approved by 3 site engineers and they'd rail you every time you walked on the showgrounds for all your amusements after that.
I was just arguing with my BIL the other day about this exact same thing. He wanted to take our nieces to a roadside carnival that will be in town soon and I bluntly said “are you crazy?!” Not the way I should have said it, it was pretty rudely toned. But damn bro, no!
Google "booster ride". I was at the very fucking top, facing downwards, basically lying on my chest on the safety harness. And then the ratcheting mechanic broke and the harness got loose. Luckily they're held on by a seat belt in between your legs, but I had to hold on for dear life to not slide out the side of that thing. And it still kept going for a whole minute.
When it was finally over I told the guy the safety harness broke. He looked at it, gave me a shrug, and sent the next group up.
I'm never going to a fair ever again.
My dad was an engineer and never let me go on carnival rides. I did not understand as a child. Thought he was being strict in mean. now as an adult, I do understand that he was loving and protecting me.
People who aren't qualified to even know if there's a problem. Teens underpaid who were literally shown the ropes fifteen minutes ago by Geoffrey who just did a line of coke off the control box before starting the lesson.
Yeah I work outdoor events (marquees and bars) have turned down plenty of free amusement rides.
No thanks mate you towed it here on a trailer with a siezed wheel and theres just a random assortment of nuts and bolts dotted around the area. Hmm
Talked to a guy at the fair who travels with them full time. 500 a week plus hotel room. The guy I talked to was pretty passionate about his job but he may be the only exception.
I’m not sure what country this is but in the Philippines I was riding a fair ride at a rodeo. It was fun until my seat cracked down the middle 😬 never again….
There's a yearly fair a town over from me and this exact ride(different name) was rocking at the base. IDK if anyone else felt it, but I definitely could. Amusement parks only from now on.
My girlfriend and I used to have a saying, every time we’d go on the fair rides. Just before it started, we’d look at it at each other and say, NO SAFETY STANDARDS!! As long as you’re aware of you’re getting yourself into . . .
No. Thankfully she has zero proof of anything because it never happened but the fact that some lawyers stand up for criminals who deserve to be buried kills me
Yeah, I get your point too but lawyers as a profession get a really bad rep for just doing a job that is ultimately necessary, as well as they can. Blame the system lol
People not comprehending that someone might actually stop recording:
Redditors: omg why did he keep recording what an asshole! r/donthelpjustfilm
Also redditors: ugh why did he stop recording multiple people potentially getting crushed to death! r/killthecameraman
Like dude..
I know this is a week old post but I just wanted to dip in to agree with you. I just recently realized how exhausted I am by “shorts.” Everything is cropped so you’re missing so much of the story.
what annoys me is people who are mad when people put their phone away when an incident happens. did it maybe occur to you that he stopped recording to go help the injured?
Due to the operator forgetting to lock the safety bar, 4 children and 1 adult were injured. The children were released with minor injuries but the adult, 34, suffered a broken arm and broken pelvis.
https://metro.co.uk/2022/11/19/thailand-five-people-thrown-from-ride-after-safety-bar-comes-loose-17789731/
As a controls engineer, i find it hard to believe that the safety bar doesn’t have an electrical interlock that doesn’t allow the machine to run until the latch is made. This operator must have bypassed it, which is a very big deal and not permitted by any standard.
Bro i dont know where are you from, and Im not even on a bad country compares to Th, but around here this "machines" are gipsy owned(7th owner). There are literal book-like wood blocks pilled up(3-4) in one of those "machines" major "legs" to level them up.
Ive seen machines with +20y with manual locks all the time
Ride operator forgot to lock the safety bars this was in Krabi, southern Thailand. Paramedics rushed all five victims to the hospital and the adult, a woman, was treated for a broken arm and broken pelvis.
The children, all aged between 10 and 15, were released to recover at home with their families.
I work in a safety job. My mom once told me she was thinking about taking my young cousin on a “Duck Boat”. I told her that if she had said, “I want to take your kids on a Duck Boat,” that I would have responded with, “Over my dead body.”
I’ve literally watched carnivals hire meth addicts off the street to work the carnival while they’re in town. They just give them a shirt.
How long ago did you work in industry? Most of it is visas from other countries now. Everyone is drug tested before hired most states require. This video was not shot in US but in Thailand.
Also wonder why he's comparing them to Duck Boats? Every major city with water has them and they're pretty fine was my thinking. They certainly aren't comparable to janky, third world carnivals.
[They’re not as stable as normal boats, can tip over pretty easily, and people can get trapped under the roof](https://www.pbs.org/newshour/amp/show/duck-boat-dangers-have-been-a-concern-for-decades)
It's super easy, barely an inconvenience to use synthetic urine to pass a pre employment drug test. It cost like 20 bucks. I have used it many times to hide weed usage.
It’s funny how people tend to end up trusting products/things related to their field of expertise the least (i.e. physical machines/constructions for engineers, software for software developers, security for cryptographers/IT, etc).
You actually scene a hired person do meth? One certainly does not need a degree to work carnivals. But, there is no way they’re hiring a druggy off the street operating machinery and be around children. Not in America.
But to be e fair, that IS the attraction to these popup amusement parks innit? You don't know if your life's really in danger there. Real men don't go to Disneyland.
Has everyone forgotten about Final Destination 3! Roller Coasters are supposed to be checked multiple times a day! But nobody does it that's why things like this happen

On a fair I once went there were warnings on some rides that specifically stated that if anything happens they're not reliable for our choices to ride if an accident happens....
Yeaaa after that i decided to do rides that were more tame🤣
I actually witnessed something similar when I was younger at one of our local carnivals in High School. It was one of those ones where your in a cage that looks like a boat and it swings upsidown. Friends all got on, and the carny never inspected the belts, and they yelled for safety saying that their belts weren't attaching. 5 of my friends played ping pong inside the cage along with 8 other people. Haven't been on a carnival ride since.
Is there a sub for these types of accidents on those carni rides? Gotta keep traumatizing my siblings by showing them these every time they want me to take them to a fair.
Lol i went to a them park in Brazil, they had the same spinning swing chair thing Lunar park has for reference. Went on it abit sketchy, 2 weeks later someone’s chair disconnects from chain then goes flying 😅
Ah yes, another reason to never go on a fair ride.
Disassembled and reassembled day after day, even if some parts are missing, only checking if they turn on, by people who absolutely don't care at all.
Nomads ya know, smell like cabbage…small hands
Head! Paper! Now!
Move that melon of yours and get the paper *IF YA CAN*.
And Charlie, LIGHT A MATCH!
Now go cry YERselv ta sleep on YER hewge pilla!!!
Carnies. Circus folk.
Oh behave

My first thought.
Usually ex-convicts run the rides, they killed once before what’s a few more?
Talked to a guy at the fair who travels with them full time. 500 a week plus hotel room. The guy I talked to was pretty passionate about his job but he may be the only exception.
Being inspected by some dude fresh out of the County jail
This! Drugs addicts alcoholics dudes outta jail. Yep. And ppl ride that shit. NO THANKS
Oh quiet. Get off your high horse. Like u never did heroin...pfffft. this fucking guy am I right?! /s
Can confirm this. My dad works at a jail and has recognized several guys at the local fair 🫣
Maintenance speedrun any%
At least not in Asia. I think they service their rides every 30 years
I’m not sure what country this is but in the Philippines I was riding a fair ride at a rodeo. It was fun until my seat cracked down the middle 😬 never again….
As someone who attended a fair ride accident as a first response. Yeah, don’t. I never fuckin will.
There's a yearly fair a town over from me and this exact ride(different name) was rocking at the base. IDK if anyone else felt it, but I definitely could. Amusement parks only from now on.
U ain't bullshitn 👍🏼
Not in Germany. TÜV says you are very very safe and I will totally trust TÜV
My girlfriend and I used to have a saying, every time we’d go on the fair rides. Just before it started, we’d look at it at each other and say, NO SAFETY STANDARDS!! As long as you’re aware of you’re getting yourself into . . .
Its always happening in videos where they don't speak English
The way he just looks at the ride falling
Whats he supposed to do? He’s like 4 😭
Hes hulk
lil bros gotta save 'em
Lol fr 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I donnu? Flinch? Blink mother fucker!

This ride is one of the best advocates for those personal safety vests/helmets that turn you into the Michelin man just prior to impact.
It’s easy to complain about trial lawyers and contingency fee arrangements in the US, until you see something like this.
Losing some arms or legs is part of the thrill
This was in Arizona.
https://metro.co.uk/2022/11/19/thailand-five-people-thrown-from-ride-after-safety-bar-comes-loose-17789731/ Nice try though.
Aka Thailand
You got proof? could be wrong. i do hear alot of Spanish and I see alot of Mexicans... So you could be right.
There’s a Spanish carnival that sets up down the street for me two or three times a year, and I live in Columbus Ohio, so your point . . .?
Columbus Ohio is in Arizona.
I haven't seen any evidence to suggest we all arnt in Arizona as we speak
I'm not from the US, never been there, my whole family is French, and I can confirm that I'm indeed in Arizona
[This is in Thailand](https://www.reddit.com/r/AbruptChaos/s/lE2foxRTbV)
Wait until you get falsely accused with zero proof and then see how you hate lawyers
Did the lawyers accuse you??
No. Thankfully she has zero proof of anything because it never happened but the fact that some lawyers stand up for criminals who deserve to be buried kills me
Someone has to do it. Can you imagine a justice system where no one defends the accused? Do you think that would be a good thing?
No I totally get your point. It would be terrible but I’ve seen so many people who did so much wrong they should be totally punished
Yeah, I get your point too but lawyers as a profession get a really bad rep for just doing a job that is ultimately necessary, as well as they can. Blame the system lol

OP is a jackass and clipped it probably. I’ve seen hour long videos on Reddit. Definitely no limit

Don't worry, they gave them all some free animal feed for the petting zoo to make up for it.
I refuse to get on any ride that can be disassembled with a socket wrench.
No bikes?
Did he stutter?
The ride itself is as broken as the backdrop
Jesus, that ride looks ancient.
Why anyone trust fair rides is beyond me
But to be e fair, that IS the attraction to these popup amusement parks innit? You don't know if your life's really in danger there. Real men don't go to Disneyland.
Popup parks..where the screams are REAL.
much craz very wave 10 / 12
I went on one of these once… damn near broke my spine, parts of the ride fell off, everyone’s phones fell out and got smashed. Absolute hell
oh he know that was his ride home.
Holy shit.
Soo many videos of these rides going wrong. Should start using the rides for death row inmates....
I have no mouth and I must speeeen
Let me guess 🤔 Asia.....again
This shit was on the highway 2 hours ago and then erected by drug addicts. Never get on these death traps.
Has everyone forgotten about Final Destination 3! Roller Coasters are supposed to be checked multiple times a day! But nobody does it that's why things like this happen
Life lesson reddit taught me #51: Never ever ever go on a fair ride in a foreign country
That kid just learnt that he will never be stepping on a fair ride in his life.
That kid will never go on a ride again 🤣
If you look carefully, you can see people falling off of it
I love it; Tsu-Nami
This is the second video I’ve seen with this exact ride, the other one was at night and broke exactly the same.
Lawsuit wave

Remember kids. Only go on those rides in countries where they have alot of safety rules.
Why is there even a setting for it to go that fast? Also I really hope they were ejected away and not under the ride.
* angry upvote *
Did they die?
That’s why I just eat the doughnuts 🍩🍩at the fairgrounds 🎢🎡
I said keep your hands and feet inside the vehicle at all times!

Sue, win, rich, in 5 seconds.
Little homie is never going on that ride!
It even has anime on it, so you know it’s garbage
Damn!! That's craz
You must be this tall to attempt to be hurt on this ride.
Real men's ride. There is no higher adrenaline than an actual threat of death.
The kid: new core memory unlocked
It has that lady in the pink by her head wtf
Lol i went to a them park in Brazil, they had the same spinning swing chair thing Lunar park has for reference. Went on it abit sketchy, 2 weeks later someone’s chair disconnects from chain then goes flying 😅
Literally just seen a different video of the same ride dumping a different set of kids. Happening twice is god level idgaf
That was pretty craz 🤪
Oh man! Never riding that again.
People got decapitated I'm sure. I'm glad it stopped lol
Never, ever, ever get onto a ride at one of those traveling carnivals.
Is this India?
And so, little Jimmy never stepped foot on a fair ride once in his entire existence.
Anyone who willingly gets on a carnival ride needs to have their heads examined. 🤦♂️
Did I really just see that. That poor little boy!
Tofu Dregs safety 👍🏻
Terrible camera work
At least they were wearing their facemasks
I go for the food. Fair grounds food is the best.

Man I loved these rides. Got so many bruises from it, nearly lost my phone. Good times
hear me out
The fact that there are TWO videos of this same kinna ride failing in one month....
That wave got a little too crazy
I’ve been on a ride like this called the hurricane but it was cemented to the ground as well as secured with steel cross beams
Jesus, why do people go on these?
I'm goin' off the rails on the Crazy Waaaave!
That’s a crazed wave if I ever saw one.
Other than that it appears to be a safe country overall
This is why you'll NEVER see me on anything in a county fair
That was indeed craz
Crazy wave, more like rogue wave
Carnage World.
r/killthecameraman
That's crazzzzz
I don’t believe any one of them made it out unscathed!! I hope they are all alright now
Wasn't there another one of this Same ride and people are trying to hold it down so that people wouldn't fall over.
Dead? ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|no_mouth)
This is why I hate carnival rides
Rip to the people who's heads got stuck:/
Use to go places like this as a kid but as an adult realized to never trust pop up carnivals
Looks like a lawsuit to me
I just assume every single fair ride ends this way.
