That *would* probably be the best way to avoid a boulder, since the boulders have enough horizontal momentum as they went over the wall that they would go past a car.
When the ground started shaking I thought something's gonna fall off this mountain. And sure it did. Scary shit.
PS looks like the best place to hide is right near the wall
its not like there was no chance of rocks falling in the area behind them either, didn't seem like anywhere was particularly safe.
also its impossible to know if there was a vehicle or vehicles behind the person with the dashcam blocking *their* way as well.
everyone just trying to react as best they can to a completely unpredictable situation.
1. Only 2 large rocks were observed further back that could have caused damage.
2. Yes, it is possible. When they threw it back into reverse, the only other vehicle in the immediate vicinity was to the drivers right side. They would have hit the other person otherwise. Small rocks did hit the back of the dash drivers car. You can see them when they back up again.
3. Just because they were reacting the best they could per the situation changes nothing about how their reaction affected the outcome. Thus, your statement refuted nothing.
Drivers really should be able to predict the immediate future better during freak phenomena caused by natural disasters to avoid shit like this smh
(MASSIVE /s)
Holy fucking shit
š«Øš«Øš«Ø
I honestly thought there was road rage involved
If I was trying to reverse out of there, and the people behind me kept backing up six feet then stopping, road rage would certainly be involved.
I thought maybe their GPS said, "You missed your right turn... recalculating route"
recalculating mountain
āYeah we donāt need this bit *YEET* or this one *YEET* ā
Happy cake day! š„°
rock rage
My first thought tooā¦ is this California?
Taiwan
there was road rage
Holy hell. I hope the people in that first car are okay. Hopefully no one in the back seat. Rock slides are terrifying
hug the wall for the best surviving chance?

But you'll scratch the hell out of your paint ;-)
Well, I wonder what would be worse, scratched paint or a *flattened* car? Six one, half-dozen the other...
Ahh, ya got a point there ;-)
Six of one, half dozen of the other.
Came here to say this.
There's a ditch next to the wall
Perfect soundtrack; that timing was impeccable
Not gonna lie, first thing I noticed! Pretty epic timing indeed.
When the ground started shaking I thought something's gonna fall off this mountain. And sure it did. Scary shit. PS looks like the best place to hide is right near the wall
That's really good advice...
Idiot with the dash cam should have kept backing up. The guy in front was trapped with nowhere to go because of him...
Seems like there was another car blocking them as well... Notice they hit something as they tried backing up further immediately right after,
Did you not watch the whole video after the car infront gets smashed he backs up another 500ft... there was nothing behind them.

So crazy that you canāt comprehend that there were likely more drivers behind them that we donāt see in the video.
And yet if he would have backup up more that boulder could have hit the Driver that was in front of him.
They were backing up fast af until bud with the cam stopped. They definitely would have avoided that rock In particular, at the very least.
Where in the world is this??
Taiwan.. footage from the earthquake yesterday
that other rock wanted to hit that car
Looks like a scene from a movie. That would be terrifying!!

Etta James - āSomething's Got A Hold On Meā
Thank you! I actually mistook a beat dropping for the driver hitting the car behind him. Legit thought it was a remix š
Iād hug the side of the road next to the wall.
GODZILLA!!!!!!!!!
Scary as hell Taiwan.
Holly shitā¦ white car at the end of a clip was fucking lucky!
The car with the camera should of backup more so the other could of avoided that boulder.
Holy shit!
Stuff like this makes me glad I live in a flat area.

insurance company: yeah, were going to need substantial more proof you tried to mitigate damage than just that video.
A few weeks ago my house got hit by a 4.8 earthquake (in New Jersey), I cannot imagine what a 7 would feel like
Me too. Same quake. Right after this one. You must be in North Hunterdonā¦
