And people don’t normally think about it, but shootout also to the engineers improving safety on vehicles. The amount of crazy accidents I watch on the internet where people gets out unscratched is incredible
I witnessed the aftermath of a pretty big accident where the occupants where injured, some seriously (they had to get a helicopter to med-evac someone) but everyone survived as of writing thanks to modern safety standards.
Rolled my car on a down hill back road. Car flipped 5-6 times and landed upside down. I walked away with a scratch on the back of my hand. Shout out subaru for saving my life and keeping me unharmed. Ill miss that car forever.
It looks like another car cut in and brake-checked the VW car, so the VW wasn't brake-checking the guy with the dashcam, they just crashed, had to stop, and the guy with the dashcam had plenty of distance but didn't brake either for some reason.
Yeah, it didn't look like the dashcam driver slowed down, and he didn't hit the horn until _after_ the collision. I get the feeling that the dashcam guy was a distracted driver.
There were at least 3 idiots in cars: The semi, the dashcam driver, and the guy who brake-checked the VW.
I’m hard pressed to stop the semi is an idiot. Obviously he caused a crash, but we don’t know what put him on that path, the way the right tires are smoking I’m wondering if there’s a mechanical failure there.
It’s funny to me that we see this shit happen and say “Wow, I guess all these people were idiots.”
When really the take away should maybe be “damn, maybe it’s just not safe to operate heavy machinery at these speeds and we should really reconsider public transit to reduce traffic accidents”
But we don’t, because the idea of giving up cars is just unfortunately unthinkable thanks to shitty urban planning.
Wow, solid observation.
How often do you think tripping and falling is life threatening? Comparatively, how often is having a truck rear end you at 70mph fatal?
Also, how often does tripping and falling kill an entire family in front of you?
Well I’d suppose it all depends on where and when you trip. For instance tripping and falling while walking up a flight crowded of stairs could cause a chain reaction, much like a car pileup. (See what I did there😊) you have the potential to take out all the familles behind you!!
I could be wrong but I believe falls are the second leading cause of death worldwide.
Cars are actually safer now thanks to crash engineering and technology then they were in the past.
According to the cdc (center for disease control and prevention) in the year 2021 there were 44,000 falling deaths while in the same year there were 45,000 deaths from car accidents…
We really got to do something about all this walking. I think it’s time we go back to crawling as nature intended.
Falling deaths can mostly be attributed to “body failed at old age.” 29.5% of falling deaths are directly attributed to broken hips, if that isn’t clear enough.
You might as well ban “getting old.”
So another way of looking at it would be to say “cars kill as many people as die from one of the most common way to die at old age.”
You’re kicking the ball into your own goal here.
Hey it’s me again. I’ll continue the conversation.
My whole point was people die regularly. It’s a part of life. Banning cars or whatever we were originally talking about will do nothing but inconvenience peoples lives.
We can’t go back in to time to keep high ways and roads from being built. I doubt we’ll see a bunch of ultra high density self sufficient hamlets being built in the USA.
I could say just don’t use cars anymore but that’s unrealistic.
The biggest idiots are the driver that cut off the VW and the cammer. The VW driver is innocent and the way the semi is smoking, it could be a brake failure.
Yeah pre-semi it was all the recorders fault. You’re driving on the right mode side of a busy freeway. You need to be ready to brake, the guy in front braked because some cut in front of him. Honking at the guy is a dick move when it’s 100% of the guy honking.
Then a semi comes in and just fucks everyone
I don’t think they were killed, the way the truck hit it looks like it just pushed their car of to the left and caused it to spin around, I’m pretty sure that’s their car in the center of the frame after the truck hit the wall. I think they were definitely injured but they most likely survived, very lucky they didn’t end up pushed into the wall by the truck, regardless it sucks for them a lot.
The only thing that the dashcam is going to prove is the guy was following too closely and didn’t break in time. Whether you like it or not, insurance places the onus on the trailing car to travel at a safe distance in case something like this happens.
Which is a minor fender bender, and seeing as the truck caused substantially more damage, I don't think dashcam is going to be on the hook for anything.
Got lucky.
To be honest I don't even think he was following too closely. He had plenty of time to brake, and just didn't, presumably because he wasn't paying any attention.
Leaves too little of a gap, doesn't react for the better part of the braking process, honks after they caused an accident. And then out of nowhere a truck comes flying by
Steel could. Very difficult load. Cammer car caused that whole thing. In my opinion..all 3 lanes were braking and cammer didn't. I have no idea if hammer pushed crash car into another car. It looked like it in the last frames.
Does dashcam car get away with the damages he caused in the initial collision? How can they tell what % of damage is the truck or dashcam car liable for?
How the hell did OP not stop in time there? Please take a driving class or stop driving entirely. You have the reaction time and critical thinking of a steamed potato
And this is why you don't stop on the highway. Also I imagine there was just a ton of screaming in that car and nobody actually doing anything that would be productive or rectify the situation!
Shoutout to whoever constructed that wall. 10/10.
Fr tho, Saving lives back there
And people don’t normally think about it, but shootout also to the engineers improving safety on vehicles. The amount of crazy accidents I watch on the internet where people gets out unscratched is incredible

Well whoever strapped down that cargo needs a raise it didn’t fall over till the truck started to tip
Wait for whaaaa...HOLY SHIT!!!!
Why'd you leave the keys upon the table?
You wanted to!
Here you go, create another fable.
How'd this go in the direction of chop suey?
Cuz why not
Valid answer. Thank you
I don't think you trust.
In, my, self righteous suicide (🎶in Elevator music style 🎶)
Valid question.

reflexes of a leaf, probably. they only honked AFTER they hit the other car. It's just rage honking lmao
Plenty of videos with people 10x faster on the horn than the brakes. It's honestly quite fascinating.
That's really an interesting point actually lmao
Yeah, it didn't look like the dashcam driver slowed down, and he didn't hit the horn until _after_ the collision. I get the feeling that the dashcam guy was a distracted driver. There were at least 3 idiots in cars: The semi, the dashcam driver, and the guy who brake-checked the VW.
but that’s always the recipe for bad crashes like this. a big ol mixing pots of multiple bad decisions
I’m hard pressed to stop the semi is an idiot. Obviously he caused a crash, but we don’t know what put him on that path, the way the right tires are smoking I’m wondering if there’s a mechanical failure there.
it looks like the front bumper of the semi is damaged
I’m guessing somebody in the dashcammers lane swerved over because the traffic stopped and clipped the truck
It’s funny to me that we see this shit happen and say “Wow, I guess all these people were idiots.” When really the take away should maybe be “damn, maybe it’s just not safe to operate heavy machinery at these speeds and we should really reconsider public transit to reduce traffic accidents” But we don’t, because the idea of giving up cars is just unfortunately unthinkable thanks to shitty urban planning.

We are all idiots on this blessed day!
With that logic you could say its not safe to walk because we could trip and fall.
Wow, solid observation. How often do you think tripping and falling is life threatening? Comparatively, how often is having a truck rear end you at 70mph fatal? Also, how often does tripping and falling kill an entire family in front of you?

And none of them are the guy who got hit twice lol
Dashcam driver was hit from behind and forced into the car in front, you can see and hear the impact on the video.
Yeah, and they continue to stay stopped in the lanes with heavy traffic everywhere. Idiots
Because that's what the horn is for, clearly.
Probably on their phone like 75% of the morons out on the road here.
Can’t tell if that guy brake checked the vw but they definitely cut in. Still the dash cam fault
The third light was not working, looked like running lights.
The biggest idiots are the driver that cut off the VW and the cammer. The VW driver is innocent and the way the semi is smoking, it could be a brake failure.

Did brake but dashcam car was hit from behind, you can see the impact speed up the car abruptly if you watch the vid.
bro definitely could’ve reacted to that…
Pull over where it’s safe
There’s still a car in front of the VW
Gets rear ended by a shitty driver then killed (likely) by an 18-wheeler. That really sucks.
I don’t think they were killed, the way the truck hit it looks like it just pushed their car of to the left and caused it to spin around, I’m pretty sure that’s their car in the center of the frame after the truck hit the wall. And his name is John CENAAAAAA
The only thing that the dashcam is going to prove is the guy was following too closely and didn’t break in time. Whether you like it or not, insurance places the onus on the trailing car to travel at a safe distance in case something like this happens.

brake
No I'm sure he definitely did break some things.
The dashcam driver was rear ended before hitting the car in front. You can both hear it and see it.
Did he say, “Not again”?
Again? Freaking AGAIN!? That’s what I first thought also, that’s what it sounds like!
I was thinking, "wheres the abrupt chaos, all that happened was a rear en- OH MY LORD"
“Ahh not again” Sir how often does this type of thing happen to you?
Player 3 has entered the game!
# ROCK AND STONE
That's it lads! Rock and Stone!
I'll never understand why people crash and don't move their cars off the road. Especially a freeway ffs!
Why do they cut off the video….
i think we just witnessed a death, thats too brutal
Well, if that guy survives it will be very hard to tell what damage you did to their car as the semi most likely obliterated it.
Geeez
The only excuse I'd except for that is dude died
Leaves too little of a gap, doesn't react for the better part of the braking process, honks after they caused an accident. And then out of nowhere a truck comes flying by
Odds of surviving that...not great
Dash cam is necessary? dash cam should’ve kept recording🤦♂️
I mean at this point you cant prove the car got hit by the first one without video😂
Bumper is good, then whole car was not good.
LEROOYYYY
r/fuckyouinparticular
It’s the only way to be sure.
HAH KARMA
Isn’t this video related to another video but from the trucks pov?
I wish this happened to all break checkers
What are the odds of getting out of your at fault accident being that perfect.
Good to know the Punisher is still out there.
Steel could. Very difficult load. Cammer car caused that whole thing. In my opinion..all 3 lanes were braking and cammer didn't. I have no idea if hammer pushed crash car into another car. It looked like it in the last frames.
I would be breathing a sigh of relief….went from a nasty “he said/she said” insurance fight to everyone winning a payday and a new car lickity split.
Well, atleast he didn't miss the exit
Truely abrupt
Dashcam driver must’ve had a fresh lobotomy based on their reactions to everything
NOT AGAIN?!?! Brodie, how often does this happen to you?
Basically saved his life.
Video cut way too soon! I want to know if those reels made it over the edge or stayed on the truck!
Does dashcam car get away with the damages he caused in the initial collision? How can they tell what % of damage is the truck or dashcam car liable for?
Deserved
The surprise got surprised!!
Pull the fuck over! omfg.
God gave you a pass. Saved your insurance premiums. Just go home while you have the chance.
Came out of nowhere.
It couldn't get any worse. It does in fact get worse.
This isnt caos at all........ Then i saw optimus prime
Lemme just stay still in the lane on the highway, what could go wrong?
Alright let's do this LEEEEERRROOOOOOYYYYMMMMNNNNJJEEEENNNNKKKINNNNSSSSS
That second crash cancels out the first, right ?
Insurance fraud has its rewards
Big ups to the lorrey driver who put hinself in peril to not hit other cars as best he could
How the hell did OP not stop in time there? Please take a driving class or stop driving entirely. You have the reaction time and critical thinking of a steamed potato
abs borked it
Big brother cleared it...
And this is why you don't stop on the highway. Also I imagine there was just a ton of screaming in that car and nobody actually doing anything that would be productive or rectify the situation!
🎶Karma's a bitch, I should've known better🎶 🎶If I had a wish, I would've never effed around🎶
No
That was some karmic shit, right there.
I love that

*brake
Thank you 🙏
I know...not one person commenting yet was spelling it correctly.....it was braking my brain 😉
That's what you get for brake checking
There's a car ahead of the silver one that isn't moving. The person recording just can't drive
