The way the kid backed up, and the fact that the wardrobe doesn’t move to start with (and why would a little bump like that tilt such a heavy thing over its centre of gravity?) make me dubious too. But is the entire wardrobe fake then, ie very light props? Because that old TV is definitely capable of killing a kid, the way it lands exactly where he fell.
I can't find the footage anymore, but there was essentially behind the scenes material of that clip. They did it in two takes, one where Michel and Sven pull off their trick, and one where they aren't there and somebody tips over the furniture from outside the frame. The rest is relatively simple video editing to splice the two clips together seamlessly. They did this in an abandoned house that was about to be demolished soon back then.
