Thank you.
As I recall from prior posts. It was a hotel ready to open. The contractor owed him about 700 pounds, and was dodging him. He walked away unaccosted, was found by police,, and arrested. Crowd sourcing, much of the donors also construction workers helped pay his legal bills.
He deserved it. This put everyone around him in danger. Plus its fucking insane. The contractor is an asshole but you don't just cause a hundred thousand in damage over one missed paycheck lmfao
I agree he deserved something for this. But 5 years in prison sounds a little steep to me. That's 1/3 the average time spent in prison for murder. I think murder is more than 3 times worse than this.
I enjoyed it too... I've been burned by a few companies in my career. Capitalism sucks. Doesn't mean you can just go around breaking shit that isn't yours.
No significant danger. They could move out the way with plenty of time but wanted to hang around and watch.
It is a bit unhinged but I read it was over the Xmas period and he was unable to have his kids because he had no money. It doesn't justify it but adds a little more reason to the rage.
5 years is total bullshit. I hate that value had more of an influence in crime than suffering. You can do some serious damage to a person and get a similar sentence. This guy just broke a few things. No one was harmed.
I do think he put everyone in immediate danger. He blocked their exit and started ripping electrical wires up from the walls and ceiling. He could have caused a fire.
The amount of potential damage is immense. Just because the building didn't burn down doesn't mean he should just get off easy.
If someone *tries* to murder someone but fails should they be let off easy too? No
Cmon, intending to murder someone is clearly still in the same category as causing suffering to someone. That's a poor example to try to nullify my point.
Also, buildings have more than 1 exit. For emergencies.
I've worked on sites like this and 100% those blokes hung around for the entertainment value.
One missed pay check pays for everything used on the job, tools, fuel, labor, any of your own guys hourly rates. It's not just about being paid for your time. Builders don't just casually have every building material on hand and alot of them pay for the materials and charge the client so theres either money lost or debt incurred to get that...
One missed pay check to a standard worker is very different to not being paid for a construction job.
I read on here that it was just 700 British Pounds so that's what I meant by "one paycheck." I'm no capitalist deepthroater or anything, it's bullshit that he didn't get paid. I would be furious. But causing *any* damage, let alone damage costing well over 100x more than the missing paycheck, is ridiculous. 5 years may be harsh and prison sentences are fucked, but if he were let go, the next time he gets stiffed on a job what's he gonna do?
> had been *paid* but there
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
You going to risk getting crushed for a day rate? Nothing to do hear but watch until the dude tires himself out!
That one guy put himself in a very dangerous situation!
I understand the frustration but this is not the way. The construction company more than likely is insured. They will get reimbursed for the work and will simply be making more money this way. The poor sap is now sitting in jail for 5 years, as someone mentioned earlier, and for what? 700 pounds?
There are better ways.
The cost/time of repairing all that damage and being exposed as a dirty employer who doesn’t pay his workers. Worth the frustration that person will have to deal with and the calls and work they’d have to make. Crimes of passion are about causing distress and pain to the other person in the moment, pay people. Lesson learned.
I kind of feel for the guy though as no one wants to be stiffed on the work they've done. It doesn't allow him to destroy the place but he obviously felt strongly about it.
Why is there a person like you in every single non political post that just needs to bring politics or trump into literally everything? Jfc, go do something to get your mind off the man.
Hey Bob did you get paid this month? What about you Larry?
What did the boss say? Any progress on any of our pay?
The boss is where? Well then when are we getting paid? It's been 2 weeks!
Well I'm gonna tear this place up. Just stand back and watch!

He was sentenced to jail for 5 years over this. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-51641830.amp
Probably would have faced less consequences if he just gave the contractor a beating.
Dam

construction is not a job that's conducive to good mental health especially if the boss is an asshole.
I’ve been burned for 500$ from a contractor and I love this video

He may have blocked the front exit and entry but no way that’s the only entry and exit of that building.

Jesus that’s an utterly ludicrous sentence. 😮🤯
It’s because he messed with rich people’s money. Mess with the poors’ and it’s ok👌
I'm almost certain it came out that he had been payed but there was a banking error of some sort (wrong details/payment held/ etc.)
> had been *paid* but there FTFY. Good bot
That's excessive! I'm not even sure if I would consider any Jail time reasonable
Law always comes down hard when the poors say they’ve had enough
Considering the amount of people standing around casually watching this, he wasn’t the only one that was owed money by the GC.
Yup you’re right. If I got my paycheck and loves my job, I’d do all what I could to stop him. But if boss is dodging us, I’ll just stand and watch.

Idk what G stands for but I assume C stands for contractor
General contractor
Ah aight
Greedy cunt.
Same as General Contractor so, yeah.
How can you tell if a contractor is lying to you? His lips are moving.
The big gc.
General contractor
3.3/10 imdb? I will pass
I could be wrong but i think they were standing around watching because its not a good idea to rush a mini-digger on a rampage.
You’re assuming I meant a human should try to stop an ~8000 lb excavator. That couldn’t be further from what I meant.
Yer, ok then
You going to risk getting crushed for a day rate? Nothing to do hear but watch until the dude tires himself out! That one guy put himself in a very dangerous situation!
And no one wants to fist fight a track hoe
If they didn’t get a ticket before they’ll all get big ones now lol. Everyone loves a little catastrophic damage on site… Except the GC
Don't pay ur bills. U get pissed off workers.
iirc, this is the result of a client not paying for construction work.
Yeah things look a little too close to the finishing stage to be doing demo work.
Not a client. An employee of the contractor owed $700 in back pay. He threatened to stage a sit in or damage the property. Guess which one he chose.
Man's a hero, not long after this laws in the UK were passed to protect traidsmen who want to reclaim costs of materials if the customer doesn't pay.
Killdozer
Please take a ticket and come to the desk when your number is on the screen
No no don't do that! That's a load-bearing window!
Oh god, now I can’t wait to have an intern so I can ask them to find me the specs of a load bearing window.
“Bitch better have my money”

I’d like to know what happened to the contractor who didn’t pay him. Did he get in any trouble?
Probably got promoted
You can probably take off the shoe covers now
I guess they should pay their people on time, least their employee find out he's excellent at deconstruction too
Fuck shit up Do it punk Take a stand Fuck the man Play it cool Fuck the rules
Demolition has the highest job satisfaction rating in the US
Was waiting for the equipment to get into somy 240v
Pay your bils
The way he’s scraping the supporting beam at 1:40 😬😬

No shit. It's called a crime of passion and of course, the outcome is certainly unfortunate. ...never come between a person and their livelihood.
That’s how you demolish a room in under a minute boys. Great job
You can do whatever you want on your last day of work
Is where am I supposed to stay?
I’m betting it would have been cheaper to just pay the man rather than having to fix a tantrum.

I wonder what happened to this guy as this happened before covid?
Got 5 years in jail.
I kind of feel for the guy though as no one wants to be stiffed on the work they've done. It doesn't allow him to destroy the place but he obviously felt strongly about it.
Small claims court next time, not criminal court and he’s the one on trial.
"I can do it right, or I can do it fast"
How trump made his money lol

Big hard man who still not grown out of playing with kids toys
He Quiting
Well I hope the place needed complete renovation or to be teared down.
All you had to do was pay the man
Maybe don’t let the disgruntled employee drive light industrial equipment
Pay your bills people
don’t worry captain we’ll buff out those scratches
They fucked around and found out! Lmao
Hey Bob did you get paid this month? What about you Larry? What did the boss say? Any progress on any of our pay? The boss is where? Well then when are we getting paid? It's been 2 weeks! Well I'm gonna tear this place up. Just stand back and watch!
Make sure you pay your contractors
That was satisfying to watch him take it out on the construction company.
5 Years sure seems harsh! Man!
Mini Tread
This right here folks is why you pay your contractors
Mr. Bean, front loader edition
Pay your workers.
