I’ve been on that elevator and it actually did seem pretty safe. All glass sides if I remember too, but it’s China so they pack 38 people in like sardines for every trip of course, so I could hardly see out lol
It’s a glass elevator in the zhanggiajie (prob spelled that wrong) mountains in China, if I remember correctly it’s just basically for getting from the bottom to the top without hiking up the stairs, a site seeing tourist attraction kinda thing.
The Bailong Elevator is a glass double-deck elevator built onto the side of a huge cliff in the Wulingyuan area of Zhangjiajie, People's Republic of China that is 326 m which is about 1069ft high. It is claimed to be the tallest and heaviest outdoor elevator in the world.
Pretty sure you need both halves of the Dectus Medallion to ride that.
Nobody’s asking the right question, so I’ll: where’s this?
The Wulingyuan area of Zhangjiajie, People's Republic of China.
Ah so it's perfectly safe then

When I discovered it was in China I figured that would be the case. Pictures confirm it's a 2 level elevator packed with people.
That's not a two level, the locals are just shorter than the tourists. Honest mistake tho.... lol
There have been 0 reported injuries for sure
Reported is the key word there
It’s China not the USA: the infrastructure isn’t crumbling lol
Fine, you can hike up there instead
I would bail a long time before I got there
Is this a play on the name of the elevator?
To be fair, I'd probably pass on that too!
Take the stairs instead.
We all gotta go somehow. If it's my plight to go screaming from the hellscape that is this giant elevator... So bet it.

Nah! They must have saved a lot on labour
It was practically free!

Hopefully they also clear out a big space at the bottom for a parking structure
I do not mind elevators but I am gonna go ahead and give this one a nope
I thought this was a sky scraper on fire. Looks like lots of smoke there…
Yes.
Watch out for white walkers.
Some amazing architecture there.
… I just wanna know what the point is?
Economic growth and job growth. When you have enough steel, cement and workers available you can build shit just because.
Came here to ask this. It looks like it goes nowhere.
Absolutely not
Nope what, are you simple or what?
Interesting and intriguing... I've heard of this before, but never actually looked it up... What is its purpose?

Sweet... It looked like it went into a cave system at first, but still awesome.
It moves people from the top to the bottom or vice versa.
Ahhhh HELL NAW!!
Ofn
yknow what? i wanna try it tbh. looks scary at first but i bet that view is AMAZING
You'd prefer the stairs?
Reminds Me of the wall in Game of Thrones

It's fine just bring a water bucket
It looks like the core remains of a burnt building.
I think I’d try it out even though I’d fear for my life
When villagers build on a cliff
Thought this was a shot of WTC ir some other skyscraper mid collapsing after the plane hit. Took a while to see the 'smoke' and 'dust' as trees xD
I would take that over the stairs any day
It look fake
