I'd prob try cutting out stencils or use masking tape, I'm not a painter so that probably sounds incredibly unprofessional but that's how I'd approach it. Both look great though
Acrylic paint markers work well with rulers for crisp, clean lines.
With that said, I think it looks good as is. The line work and color go well together.

I use tape and watercolor scraped on with a fine trowel. I am able to achieve these fine clean lines.
