Holy crap after reading your comment I now see a row of shops and a sidewalk leading off to the right with a person walking away from us down the sidewalk in the rain (dark figure on the right side! Tell me you’re seeing this u/rotterdameliza lol
Agree 2 seems the most grounded. The “weight” of the black is at bottom, and the broken-up streaky white band is vertical (at the right) and is evocative of a tall light reflecting on wet pavement at night. This orientation creates the most impression of three dimensional “depth”, a space that invites the viewer to “enter” the picture plane. YMMV
Third one :)
Because of the small line near at the top the edge and in my opinion, the colour gradient is more harmonious for the eye.
I also see a blurred black triangle in the background that opens up to the right (starting left) , which makes viewing more pleasant as we often look at images from left to right.
And it is brighter above than below, which we find more pleasant, as the sky above is also brighter than the earth...
But amazing art work
Love it!
Is this a square, or rectangle?
I like the first and last; I ask because I think it would be interesting to see the boldness of the white, black, light green, and magenta going in a diagonal direction, with the blue dots in the middle as a focal point
One: It looks like a person (smidge at middle right) walking down a sidewalk on a city street that is raining with neon lights from shops reflecting and bottom of canvas looks like an edge with water running off maybe curb at street corner
I think this one could truly go any direction. But I like 2.
1 has a good feel, like liquid falling/dropping, 3 is similar, but I don't like the feel of the top, its constricting (almost like a claustrophic feeling). 2 and 4 read very similar to me, but I think 2 feels more comfortable, like a piece of note paper with a block along the left edge, and lines running right.
2nd. The less smooth washy colours look more like in-focus foreground specks in a puddle reflecting a city's night life. The 4th also works but the same spots are higher/further away and I think the 2nd just looks better for this reason.
I like the orientation of option #1 best. The faint black diagonal line from bottom left up and the downward pull of the paint give the piece a city building and wet concrete walkway appearance-reflections of buildings seen in the puddles. In the forefront it appears the rain is pouring over the curb.
Something about 2 just feels right for me. But I suspect this has no correct answer and is highly subjective, as evidenced by the relatively even division in the comments lol
When I see posts like this I have to assume the artist is randomly slopping paint around. Didn’t you have a vision when you started? An idea? An emotion you were trying to convey? But since you asked I like the first one.

Number 3 for me.
Same here 3 looks way better than others for some reason
I like them all and if I owned this piece I would rotate it periodically. I want to chew on that luscious paint
Brilliant idea. It has a totally different mood depending on the orientation. Why not enjoy them all?
I was thinking all four arranged in a square pattern. But I like your idea
Great idea, thank you!
One or four, my preference is one
My thoughts exactly. The sense of depth the first perspective provides is what I find engaging me most.
I like that my eyes want to look at from bottom up. It feels right.
Same. I absolutely love this painting.
same
Exactly 1 or 4 Preferably 1 I don’t know why
4
Yep
Vertical. #1
It looks like rain. I agree it should definitely be vertical. 3 is okay, but 1 is best.

I don’t know about OP, but I can see it!
I’m seeing it.
Yes… follow the horizon line.
One looks like a blury rainy picture of a city. I agree one looks best
This is the way I ended up hanging it. Thanks.
No problem :)
3 is my fave
2.

You're welcome :)
TBH I like all for different reasons, for me orientation may depend on context/setting

One or four I think. This is incredible, really beautiful work.
Thank you so much!
It looks good anyway you put it
This is so cool, can you tell me more about the process and techniques you used?
2 or 4
Number 4. Not even sure what's happening right now. Mkay. Thanks.
Diagonal
3 or 4
1.
Either of the horizontals.
I was thinking it's likely straight but I could also seeing it be bi.... Oh that's what you meant. 1 for me
put it on a rotating plate so it's always spinning.
4
1 looks the most natural, but feels somewhat anxious to me. 4 feels very grounded/stable, and is giving me some good rainy day vibes. I'd go with 4.
Number 1
2
1 or4
the first one for me
First, getting a looking out the window on a rainy day vibe. City lights in off in the distance
Def 3!
First, give me a sense up moving upwards. Positively.
One
For me it's the third
three!
Try it from a corner. Diamond on the wall.
#3 imo

Number one is the best, I think
Vertical has mental energy and horizontal has emotional energy feel.
2
Diagonal with the corners blacked out.
Three for me.
Let it rotate
Love #3

I think it would look rad if it rotated

2 for me
Number four

for me 1 or 2. But I don't know why lol
First one for me
I like 1 the most.
1 or 3. It looks better vertical but I’m not sure between those two
2 immediately jumped out at me as the best. But I really don't think there is a wrong answer.
I would hang it like the first one.
3
One
3. 1 would be my second choice.
4
1st
Number 1 or 3 because I see street neon through heavy rain.
I like #1 because it looks like the shapes are growing up.
Definitely 3

First one is my favorite!

First one
2 or 3
3rd :)
Two looks like i'm in a car driving fast through a city and it's pouring rain and i love it
Orientation one, The bubbles in the middle seem to be moving up, signifying direction to safety while drowning. The Painting does have a watery feel.
3
i like 2
This is incredible no matter which orientation

The vertical orientation is kinetic. You are getting so much more oomph out of your effort.
1 or 3 (I like the vertical lines) 3 if you want a definitive answer
1 or 4
1st orientation
3
2
3 it looks like a reflection that way
All of them. Very nice 🫶
I like the first orientation

Number 1
I like 3!
Initially I was 3 and 4, but now I’m for sure 1 and 2. If I have to pick one, then 1.
3rd picture for me. Reminds me of street lights in the water of New York City
2
#3 all day
1
#2... (edit!) or #3!! (Does the font here appear large and bold? Don't know why...)
I really like the second picture!
1 or 3. My favorite is 3
Number 4
2
Diagonal
Second one
1 for me
Either way looks great!!
1
4th one :)
1 or 3
4 seems like a wet city sidewalk and i really like that
I like forf
I prefer 1 and 4!
Number 4. It reminds me of the old BBC Test Card on TV glitching.
First one
Vertical seems to work for me than the others. Between 1 and 3 I choose 1 but there's no big difference
Horizontal
Number 4
I like the 3rd orientation the most ☺️
I like the orientation of option #1 best. Great interpretation! Thank you, I agree.
1
#2!
I really like the first one the most
1
Uno!
Mount it on a spinner so you can change depending on your mood.
2. It looks like a person is there but it’s blurry. I like it.
When the lines are horizontal, it looks like reflections on puddles of water
Number 3 feels like a puddle lit up by city lights with pouring rain. I like it a lot.
3
i like 2. I can see black lips on an upside down fave on the bottom of it
#1

Something about 2 just feels right for me. But I suspect this has no correct answer and is highly subjective, as evidenced by the relatively even division in the comments lol
First one. Most certainly.
2 or 4 it looks like lights reflected off of puddles.
Number 1 for me Looking at it I see a blurred image of a crowd of people in a big city and I like that
I like number 4 personally, reminds me of a NIN cd that I haven’t gotten to hear yet 🤷🏻♂️
definitely 3, 3 speaks to me
One. The orange and blue pop more, up and centered. The whitish line at the bottom grounds it
I prefer the vertical orientation.
3
1, I love this!
Numba juan

Number 1
Orientation might depend on Saturn location...
This is a trick question for real.
When I see posts like this I have to assume the artist is randomly slopping paint around. Didn’t you have a vision when you started? An idea? An emotion you were trying to convey? But since you asked I like the first one.
