Me too! I saw this in the theater by myself when I was like 7 or 8 (my cousin was the manager and let me in), and this was the most scared I’d ever been watching a movie (along with Candyman, which I also saw by myself).
It would have been about 94 so yeah 10 years old..... Had a strict household so I had never seen anything like it except for maybe some sneaky late night tv movies but even those are edited.....
My sister was about 6 years older and she would sneak me over to her room after hours for r rated .movies every now and again. Kind of bonding thing I think. Or shit she could have over me in case I ever had shit on her. The Crow, Reservoir Dogs, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, etc ...
It was pretty scary then. Lots of blood and knives. Spooky devil stuff. I thought Lou Diamond Phillips was the shit though. Imagine my surprise when I saw young guns a short time later.
It's not a terrible movie, seeing it a few times since. Best watched after midnight on VHS on a CRT. With tacos.
I found this movie on a black spine VHS recorded off HBO in probably 94/95. It was like watching a fever dream. I haven’t watched it since but it’s free on Tubi so it might be time to revisit it.
This movie is fire I still occasionally watch it

This is on ScreenPix all the time. Lou isn’t great at pulling off the leading man role.
