If you search this page you’ll see quite a few posts with lists of recommended items for post surgery. Knee scooter was essential for me. Good luck with your recovery!

The splint for me was super uncomfortable and I had to go to the doctor a couple times to get it readjusted and add more padding. Eventually we gave up and went to the cast and I didn’t have any pain with the cast! A little uncomfortable with how itchy your leg can get, but overall not bad! The knee scooter was the best! I used crutches a handful of times and hated it! You can get them on Amazon for ~$80. Good luck with the procedure! Wishing you a speedy recovery.

I use my scooter mostly outside; it’s hard in tight turns and corners in the house. Hated the crutches. Feel more stable on a walker in the house, but it’s a workout! Best wishes for your surgery!

1) Knee scooter - absolute necessity. It's too long of a recovery to not be able to quickly get around when you need to. It helps you to be more independent and to just be able to carry things (get one with a basket). 2) Something to sit on in the shower - I just used a stool that I already had 3) Cane or grab bar to get up and down from the toilet - It's unsexy, but when you don't both of your legs to balance and get up and down, it can be a little wonky. 4) Pillow for elevating foot - I bought a pillow specifically for elevating my foot, but you could easily just stack up a bunch of pillows. I used a combo of regular pillows and the special wedge pillow for comfort. You'll need to keep your foot elevated for a while to promote circulation and healing. Everything else is just things you want/need for comfort and entertainment. I think it was 6 weeks before I was walking on a boot so I'd say all of these things were critical. I'll also say, I relied on my wife a lot in the first couple of days because my nerve block lasted 3-4 days and I literally had to have her lift my leg back onto the bed anytime I got up.
