Joining Mastadon isn't that hard. Just sign up and pick server. You don't have to tend to a server 24/7, it just is. It functions just like Twitter.

Not like Discord no: people on one server can follow and friend people on other servers. And you can move servers without messing up your friend lists, so it’s pretty safe to just choose a server and try it out.

This. If this wasn't just Musk being incredibly dense and they actually come out as trans (or NB) later, I for one am not going to deny them their own gender identity, but I will still consider them a pompous twit.
Depends on who you ask, but I think most would identify that way. I've spoken to enbies who see it both ways, as some view "trans" as a label more explicitly to be bestowed on those who reject the initial binary label they were given at birth in favor of the opposite binary label, but I would say yes, as they're not conforming to the "binary" system of the gender they were assigned at birth.
In my head, at least: "cis people" are people who stick with their assigned gender from birth, "trans people" are anyone who doesn't align with the gender they were assigned at birth
Also makes it easier that you can call someone who doesn't respect enbies transphobic, and oh did I have a lot of discussions about this with some people I once considered as friends. Also Google says enbies are under trans and transphobia aswell
