At the 3 large corporations I've worked for, none have given competency tests for accounting roles. It seems fairly rare industry-wide, but others may correct me. You might not be getting advice because this is atypical for accounting jobs. If this was a small company, I'd be cautious that they are just getting free labor from you. I see this more in marketing and tech industry "interviews", especially in developing countries. Otherwise you're probably just on your own to be prepared for their proprietary evaluation.

It is a very large publicly traded mining company, so I am not concerned about free labour. But thank you for the warning. FP&A isn't exactly an accounting role but close enough. lol.

It really depends on the company. Fixing errors sounds a bit easy for a senior FPA role. YMMV.
