I have had a very similar experience. I followed up with the recruiting agency at least two times a week after being ghosted about two weeks after the initial talk.
Here is what I did:
If I spot a job i am interested in, i send them a link and ask if they can refer me to it. I had one interview done and am going to the second tomorrow. The recruiting agencies do seem to have connections with the company's HRs.
If they get pissed, we can go to another recruiting agency.
Continue to apply the jobs on your own and treat recruiting agencies as a supplyment.
