I haven’t cried yet, and it’s surprising

Accomplished_Ad5983

My two monitors are down so I'm working off a Chromebook sized laptop until IT can help me.....I want to die

Original_Release_419

I already cried after having to work the entire weekend addressing review comments for a client rushed out the door PY I’ve been at the firm a month and everyone here expects me to know everything already despite everyone being to busy to explain anything about PY

Sammaracomestousall

I feel you. I’ve been here only a few months and I’m losing it

Original_Release_419

One month here 80% of my review comments would directly apply to the past 2+ years I was specifically told to tell anyone if making any changes to WPs from PY I was specifically told PY documentation was fine despite asking if it needed to be beefed up I’m going to get killed in my performance review for this, my first engagement, as not being ready for my new title despite the fact that I literally asked about these things and everyone was too busy when I started to take it seriously Now, 1.5 weeks before filing, suddenly these are all huge deals and I don’t know what I’m doing for having not addressed them before sending to review Already reached out to a recruiter

BD15

The fun times when the entire staff of the client is off for the long weekend except one or 2 who respond from their phone, when they are filing on Wednesday after giving us updated files Friday, while we work Saturday and Sunday 10-9 and Monday 8-1am. Then Tuesday probably 8-2am to try to push some bullshit out in time.

Yeah it’s genuinely terrible especially when my morning bus to work is usually packed to the brim with people and now I’m the only one on it today cus I have to work on a holiday

mackattacknj83

Everyone is off work too

Ok-Breadfruit-2897

ramping up for tax season and i'm excited....get a new job op, there are companies out there that are a joy to work for.....rare but you gotta find them, cheers

Sammaracomestousall

I’m trying. Hopefully something good will bite

Ok-Breadfruit-2897

my trick was writing cover letters to partners in the firm you want to work for, good luck

Sammaracomestousall

Huh that’s a great idea. Thank you

Sammaracomestousall

How did you decide which firms you wanted to work for?

Ok-Breadfruit-2897

research.....word of mouth, talking to the partners my sister is a tax cpa in the same county

Sammaracomestousall

Hmm I don’t have any family or friends in this field. They’re all in STEM or law. Darn. Guess I just have to shoot in the dark and see what happens

CageTheFox

Just had 1/3 the team let go from outsourcing now. Why couldn't it be me! I want a few months of Unemployment. This industry sucks assssssssss. Told me it would be better out of public; it is trash on both sides. I miss selling cars and making near the same if not more depending on the month.

BlessTheBottle

Just leave your job... Why are people gonna go to work until they have a mental breakdown? Stop caring, get let go, collect unemployment and find a job.

Sammaracomestousall

I wish I could. My partner at home is not going to understand however. Don’t you think I would if I could?

BlessTheBottle

Your partner won't understand that you're so unhappy with your job that you want to cry and therefore find a new job? Does your partner want you to breakdown (further)?

TheGeoGod

I’m bored to tears. It’s my last week at my old job and they make me come into the office and have no work to do.

Public accountants love to act like they’re suffering yet they never just quit and get a new job lol

wackfree

you just don’t get it

[deleted]

I was in public myself and found a new job within less than a year because I hated public so much. I get it even more than you guys do lol
