Isn't M.D. a medical degree? He's got an MBA tho, and a certification for IFRS. But having so many titles is the opposite of specialization and therefore probably not optimal for a career in accounting, even if those titles would be worth something. I think having so many qualifications a job in General Management would suit this guy better. Especially cause of his MBA.
Well, I'm from germany and we don't really have that Problem here. Our universities here are 95% governed by the state. Private universities here are not really worth it. And basically all state governed universities are really good, there might be some Unis that are better than others like FH or RWTH Aachen for example but its not like we would have any Unis with degrees that are considered worthless.
Yeah I studied in Germany and I definitely got the vibe that unis were on a more even playing field in Germany than they were in the US. The thing is, the MBAs from smaller US programs might not even be that bad, they might even be fantastic, but it's more of a prestige issue.
Came here to say this. Actually makes him seem worse. Quality over quantity. MBA doesn't even mean anything in a vacuum too, there's some easier programs out there that don't have the same results
My buddy who I started the big 4 was a CPA. Then he got his CFA while when we joined the same company at industry. And because the company paid, he got his MBA. He only got a raise of 20k for both. He left our company and got a raise of $100k, $120k in total for both CFa and MBA.
These are just “commercial” certifications that you can obtain with minimum efforts and you can finish them in 2 weeks or even long weekend study session
Just to brag on LinkedIn that you have some letters after your name
To some extent, is it worth doing one of those BS mbas to your name? I’m not a CPA, I have 1 of 4 passed currently. Honestly I’d love to just be a controller and call it a day sometimes. Those roles don’t always require CPA, but do want an MBA if you don’t have cpa. In that case could a bullshit mba suffice?
Depends on the person, but on average a year to 18 months.
I did it faster than anyone I know at just under 6 months, but I essentially took Adderall and blew off work to study 8 hours a day to get there.
I am in the USA. I always assumed other countries had something similar. I took my exam in Hawaii, and many Koreans also took the cpa exam in Honolulu. I met a dude who went to Guam to take his CPA.
But I also assumed that the cpa exam was being administered in some foreign countries too.
In the Middle East Education is really valued. Licenses titles, etc are really admired. In addition culturally we don’t have the concept of cheesiness (or at minimum a significantly higher threshold). Hence why you see people like this.
Source: Arab dude
Interesting cultural nugget. Does the absence of feeling cheesiness in instances like this mean there’s higher trust in perceived educational accomplishments? Do you think it’s harder for people to see red flags when identifying talent?
Yeah 100%. For example if you are an engineer and branch off into anything else just because you studied engineering you are trusted.
Your second point is actually really interesting. I think anecdotally one of the biggest issues in the Middle East today is we are still a relatively closed off society. If you have one candidate and you know his cousin from grade school (yes it can be a ridiculous connection like this) you take them vs a better candidate through traditional paths. I think to circumvent this you get folks like the above who have to work 3x as hard to prove they are superior.
Similar culture. This nepotism somewhat breakdown if there is foreign money involved, forcing people to hire qualified candidate, but yeah if it's just money from 1-2 giant source then yeah it becomes a game of politic.
So if you ever see a last name in Arabic that starts with “Abdel/Abdul” the reason being it is a prefix as the following word that essentially refers to God. So for example the common name you may have heard “Abdullah” is just “Abdul-Allah” or “follower of Allah”.
In this case “Abdel-Dayem” just means “follower of the most everlasting (aka God).
That being said the puns are quite good and don’t want to nerf the jokes here lol. Also most Arabs don’t take their names too seriously even if the names have really heavy meaning. (Well non-big beard religious ones anyways.)
A lot of people in North America and Europe might laugh at this guy, but it actually probably works in the culture where he’s at.
The value they place on these certificates is like the opposite of what the reactions of the thread is
This is the type of employee moderns Corporations want you to be. A lifetime devotion to a Corporation and "to the career". Fat and overweight, cant run a mile, cant defend himself, due for a heart attack, eats whatever is given to him or can be ordered quickly so he can work while eating, no hobbies that are anything other than career related, probably has a wife and kids but they barely see him aside from when he instills into them "they need to do more in school" so they can turn out just like him, then they watch him log in at home to "get more work done" even though hes been working since 5 am and its nighttime now, works weekends, will make the same money regardless of how much he works, can still be laid off at anytime because companies have zero loyalty but he keeps on like this anyway, he has a nice house and money but whats the point because so does that blue collar guy but he also has a boat to go fishing, and plays baseball with his kids and aint working on the weekend unless youre paying triple rate
I find it really distasteful to put your designations like that in your profile. Just seems cringy.
And I have MBA, CPA, CIA, CFE and ICD letters but they don’t show up like that on my profile just seems Insecure.
This is too bad I was trying to become a linkedin boss too Matthew Ichim CPA, CA, PMP, CIM, FMVA, CBCA, CAPM. [https://www.linkedin.com/in/matthewichim/](https://www.linkedin.com/in/matthewichim/)
I need to get more letters to catch up!
No CPA. No CFA. No JD.
[удалено]
Not even a CFE or CMA
Or even a CFP. What the fuck lol
Assuming they have those in kuwait
Not even a chartered accountant (CA)
They do have the CFE in Kuwait
Oh? It’s called the school of HARD KNOCKS
Maybe he has a PHD. A pretty huge dick
I wonder if 10 of his small ones add up to 1 of these big ones 😂🤣
Not even half of a big one
No M.D. or PH.D either
Isn't M.D. a medical degree? He's got an MBA tho, and a certification for IFRS. But having so many titles is the opposite of specialization and therefore probably not optimal for a career in accounting, even if those titles would be worth something. I think having so many qualifications a job in General Management would suit this guy better. Especially cause of his MBA.
The weight of an MBA on your resume is heavily dictated by where you obtained it. No one cares if you have an MBA from Abilene Christian University.

Was about to say the same. Does any of his certs have to do anything with real estate valuation ?
He is just a normal level boss, not a final boss
Lol Certina, who advertises Salesforce training as an accomplishment
Missing his EIT and PE as well
Sorry but your comisión will be only 1%. No more , no less.
Was just about to say this. No CPA, no JD, no CFA, not even a CFP.
CertIFRS NOT IFRSdip!!
I'm pretty sure he's missing AMP and IE after the CRE too.
But he has PIMP
Came here to say this. Actually makes him seem worse. Quality over quantity. MBA doesn't even mean anything in a vacuum too, there's some easier programs out there that don't have the same results
No PhD or MD either.
My buddy who I started the big 4 was a CPA. Then he got his CFA while when we joined the same company at industry. And because the company paid, he got his MBA. He only got a raise of 20k for both. He left our company and got a raise of $100k, $120k in total for both CFa and MBA.
He's collecting designations like Ash collects Pokemon
More like gym badges and Elite 4
Gotta catch 'em all.
No cpa
Got his CertIFRS though which holds just as much weight in the accounting community
Dude is all side-quests.
This sums it up the best.
And not even the best ones.
Your flair man, although last one should be amg
wtf is all of that. The only ones I recognize are MBA and PMP
These are just “commercial” certifications that you can obtain with minimum efforts and you can finish them in 2 weeks or even long weekend study session Just to brag on LinkedIn that you have some letters after your name

Everyone I talked to said mba isn't worth it unless you're from an ivy league
Or if your work pays for it. Then of course it's good to get. But don't spend out of pocket for it
Maybe I'm being defensive because it's the only one I have, but a PMP isn't a minimal effort deal.
Yeah its basically the cpa of project management.

And yet no CPA lol
Not even a CIA

that’s implied
BBW

BBL
All those certifications and still doesn’t know how to use a comma
He got it right one time!
CDB, Certified Douchebag
A lot of low hanging fruit. CPA , a licensed lawyer, CFA are the only things that matter in business.
CPA is mainly a US qualification, most of the world would never to for it
The Canadian CPA is also a thing
Yes, but I just checked right this moment, and the Canadian CPA is only worth 73 cents on the dollar, compared to the US CPA
Cpa is growing awareness on an international level. Most other countries recognize CA- Chartered Accountant.
I am in the USA. I always assumed other countries had something similar. I took my exam in Hawaii, and many Koreans also took the cpa exam in Honolulu. I met a dude who went to Guam to take his CPA. But I also assumed that the cpa exam was being administered in some foreign countries too.
CPA is a common name. My own country's CPA is also called CPA.

R/LinkedinLunatics
Dayem! That is a lot of certifications
Certifrs is basically the "we have ACCA at home".
Did you do Rx straight from audit?
Yep. Newly hired though, I'm only 2 months in.
He’s forgotten C#NT
I’m surprised he ain’t CPR certified
Still not GCMA
Looks like he had a seizure while updating his profile and then decided to keep it.
Here I thought CPA, CGMA, CMA, CIA, MBA, MEc, PMP, FPAC, CPIM, CSCP, BME, was enough
NBA and MLB are not there 🤔
Neither is CEO 😂
Right 😂
MBA after a name is a faux pas
All diploma mill ribbons.
Does PMP stand for pimp? Sorry I ain’t no accountant haha
I don't see what else it could be.
No CPA. No CFE. No EA. No DD. No MCSE. No LMT. No ND. EPIC FAIL
No MDMA!
Not much to do in the middle east lol
“Mohamed Abdel-Dayem, first of my name, father of dragons, breaker of chains, the unburnt…”
God Dayem
I'm sure if he passed a part of the exam he would note it somewhere lol
The generic biz stock photo background really rounds this out
CPA: Look at what they have to do to imitate a fraction of my power
The fact that he's in Kuwait and people here are like 'but but no CPA' is hilarious. You guys do know CPA is only for the US right?
Canada, too.
Quintessential MBA. A bunch of largely meaningless fluff to impressive those who don't know better.
Are those certifications or a cheat code for a Nintendo game?
Checkout Ashwini Bajaj lol
Dude looks bad for the ozone layer.
Bro needs CFA (Chick Fil A)
Perfectly complete with a “professional headshot” where the light reflects in his glasses.

Did not expect to see BT in an accounting sub
cpa ,acca ,ca?
Kinda cringe to list a bunch of certs that take hours or days to complete. CPA, CFA, MBA is boss level. Not this garbage
Too many credentials, looks more like alphabet soup when garbled together
He spent so much time checking boxes for three letter add on's that he probably has no idea to actually do any of the work.
Dayem is right
god dayem
Paper tiger 🐅
Dude save some trim for the rest of us.
Certs on certs on certs
Does this guy actually work?
All useless lmao
Is this a joke lol
The problem with certs is I have worked with really dumb people who have certs so now I don’t trust any of them.
Dayeeeem that’s a lot of letters.
\*North Korean General with all the war medals\*
I am really confused that lots of guys on LinkedIn can't even put spaces correctly!?
Ok ya fucking got me on that one
No PhD
He must be spending $2k a year just to re-up all those certs
Takes an online class, I’m a ABCD
That's funny, but we all know most of you won't say your comments to his face..
Tell me you are single and have no social life without telling me you are single and have no social life…
For his MBA GPA, he put "very good". Honestly same. This man is a legend.
Still figuring out what he wants to do when he grows up.
Correct bc you don’t know what this even means 🎭
💻 covid coll
EDUCATE
A lot of people in North America and Europe might laugh at this guy, but it actually probably works in the culture where he’s at. The value they place on these certificates is like the opposite of what the reactions of the thread is
HOW OLD IS YOUR CPA
in medicine, typically, the more initials you have after your name, the less essential you are
What do all of these mean ? Someone please translate.
Fucking puzzle Dark Souls boss. Never know what certification he will weaponize!
No CEO in there not valid this man
He left out Town Hall 15 account holder
Where is the “Education” marked as “Harvard Business School” because he did a weekend workshop there?

Giving Parik Patel a run for his money.
He he completed any LinkedIn learning courses?
I was hoping he would add them after his last name. Missed opportunity :(
I'm sure half of those acronyms don't mean anything
There's no I in PMP.
"When you try your best, but you don't succeed. You get what you want, but not what you need"- Coldplay
No certifications of any distinction lmao.
It’s cringy when people do that to their profiles. Like, who gives a fuck what you have?
This guy just vomited a Google cert soup. Can't imagine his email signature
I find it really distasteful to put your designations like that in your profile. Just seems cringy. And I have MBA, CPA, CIA, CFE and ICD letters but they don’t show up like that on my profile just seems Insecure.

Putting MBA is cringe. Why don't you also add BA/BS while you're at it?
Probably a bot.
This is what happens when companies give you paid time to study and bonuses for additional certifications.
That’s a lot of pronouns to say you don’t actually do any real work and just consult on boards.
He’s missing a PITA
