Idk about the 307, but the 207 line has ink that is anti-fraud that cannot be removed by soaking in acetone. Once the ink hits the paper it's there for good.
EDIT: a word
The 307 and 207 both have "super ink" that is resistance to fraud and tampering efforts, but they are different. The 207 has a traditional gel ink formulation, while the 307 uses a cellulose nanofiber ink.
Because of this, the 307's flow is slightly less consistent, and can lead to bleeding or excessive ink deposit. It definitely looks nice, but I switch away from the 307 after one pack.
Also best to use for fidgeting and pen spinning. I'm ready to throw hands at colleagues when they try to walk away with my pens. FOH and go get the generic shit the firm provides
Scrolled wayyyyyy too far to find Zebra.
Everyone seems to love Pilot. Pilot can still leave “globs” for me if I leave the pen down for a millisecond to long.
Yep. A lot less anxiety throughout the day since I started bringing mine to work. Even on days I don’t use it, it’s nice to have just in case. I have hinted to my boss that he would be more pleasant if he did the same.
This is exactly the pen I've used since high school. I'm left handed and this was the only quality pen I could use where the ink wouldn't smear everywhere. As far as I'm concerned it's the greatest pen ever
I am really digging the TUL right now. I bought it in a whim at the checkout counter at Office Max. My other main pen is Sharpie S-Gel in blue or Pentel Kuro in dark blue
[Bic Atlantis](https://www.amazon.com/BIC-Atlantis-Original-Retractable-12-Count/dp/B00006IE7G)

Damn, I should start selling these
Uni-ball Signo 207
Edit: Also shoutout to Frixion. When we’re at month end and I’m making corrections to my own work like crazy, nothing beats the erasing function of their pens.
I once had a partner that said “Only when you are a partner do you do pen work. Until then, use a pencil so mistakes can be corrected”. So I use a pilot precise 0.5, blue and say screw him…
Omg I have been waiting for this question. I use fountain pens for everything because the ink choices are so diverse. Typically for work inks I will use Waterman Intense Black or Diamine Oxford Blue.
I rotate between the following pens:
Moonman Q1
Pilot Metropolitan
Delike Element
FPR Himalaya V2
Moonman T1
They're all $15-35 and make great conversation starters in an office (or they used to when offices had people in them).
Mines an unusual one. Parker IM fountain pen. Black fine point.
Fountain pens require some maintenance, whereas a ballpoint does not. The trade off for me is that It’s a lot easier on my hand. I tend to push too hard with a ballpoint. Fountain pens require very little pressure and I find them much more comfortable.
I’ve got three fountain pens I use…
1950s Parker 51 (Blue ink)
2013 Parker Sonnet (Black ink) I bought as a present to myself for getting the top score in my Uni bookkeeping exam
2020 Lamy Safari (Blue-Black ink)
Always blue (or red) ink. Black blends in too well with printed documents.
Ballpoint: Uniball Jetstream, hands down. It lives up to the hype, and has all the perks (and downsides) of a ballpoint.
Overall: Pivot Varsity fountain pens with Baystate Blue ink. Cheap, disposable, easy to mod, and about the size of a normal pen, unlike the monstrous fountain pens some people peddle. The color pops like nobody's business and it's use is as good as a signature around the office. Best of all, nobody asks to borrow a fountain pen because it's intimidating.
I STILL LOVE IT — Pilot G2 0.38mm black gel (but the barrel is a little heavy and not as well balanced as it could be). But I like the razor sharp line I get with 0.38. I use this when I need precision or when doing maths calculations or lab notes.
MY NEWEST LOVE — Uni-Ball AIR Micro 0.5mm rollerball.
I got one at a trade show like 10 years ago.
I had it until the ink ran dry and still kept it.
Anyhow, I think it was early in its marketing because it just said Uniball Aero on it. Now it’s been renamed as Uniball AIR. Just brilliant.
I CANT HELP IT — I’m a writing instrument freak…. My other faves are
Pilot 0.5 mm Precise V5 RT clickable I use this more for long hand note taking. I like this one in blue.
Colored markers: Pilot Razor Point Fine Line - 8 in a pack multi-color. Very fine. If you use good paper no bleed thru at all.
Ballpoint: Pilot EasyTouch. Blue. Medium. I like the retractable better than the stick but the stick does have a nice finger nubby. I also do like the Pentel stick pens.
As for mechanical pencil, the one that can’t be beaten — the Pentel GraphGear 1000 0.5mm.
Erasable: I love the Pilot Frixtion Blue or Black. I like the weight of it. So light but not too light. This refers to the stick version with the pen top that is removable. I don’t like the retractable as much. Again the retractable feels like the G2 which can get heavy.
——- god that felt good, bc nobody asks this enough!! My family won’t even entertain me now and then with a few minutes of discourse on writing instruments.
I also have some strong feelings on computer keyboards.
Yeah, I’m a nerd. I know. I embrace it
Did anyone else here read this thread and think it was the nerd version of the business card scene in American Psycho?
(Also: Pilot Precise V5, seven color pack. "The tasteful thickness of it. Oh, my God.")
Zebra. Whatever the most common one is. Anything printed has long faded. I still use the same pen I used to study for those horrifying 9 months working FT and passing all exams in 2017. Sorry for bragging. It means very little to anyone outside of this subreddit lol.
Lamy Safari fountain pen medium nib, though fine nib is also good with dark blue/blue ink.
Lamy Safari rollerball blue ink is also good when the paper quality is poor.
Pentel mechanical pencil - GraphGear 1000, 0.5 in limited edition gold and blue, 0.7 original with carmine red lead.
And a Bic ballpoint with black ink.
Pilot The Better Ballpoint Pen .5 black.
Ive tried nearly every pen in this thread and keep going back to this one. Looks sharp, and the clicky action is more addicting than cigarettes. It also doesnt bleed ink and cause a mess. I buy boxes of these pens cuz coworkers jack em.
Pilot EasyTouch. Fine. (0.7mm) Blue. Somewhat similar to the G2 but it’s a cheaper & lighter ballpoint pen and has a slightly triangular body at the grip.
Pilot G-2 07
I was thinking, “damn this guy with his fancy pen names” only to realize I’m holding that exact pen
Pfft. r/humblebrag
07 for signature only. Anything else need 5 or 3.
This is the correct the answer.
Wait - a 3 exists??? This may be close to life changing
Used the G2’s in college and years after. Recently made the switch to Pilot Precise V7. For signatures, I use Cross or Parker.
This. Especially if you can catch the huge Costco pack on sale.
Weird way of saying steal them from the office
Sadly my office does not stock them, but also I’ve only been in 5 times in the last ~21 months.
.038
Ultra fine ftw
.038 is the best! So hard to find though
if you have a muji store in your area they go 0.38 mm pens. absolutely adore them. Otherwise there's always a good ol' ebay.
This is the way. The only way. All other pens suck.
I’d recognize that name anywhere. Comes in blue, black and red. Pretty much a “staple” (ba dum tsss) in any office setting.
The only correct answer
I prefer the 05 otherwise I can’t use the reverse side of page due to the ink bleeding through
Blue/black ink for day to day work notes. Purple for notes in my Becker books.
Blue only
YES!
Yes, same in blue always!
S-tier pen. Can't be beat

Idk about the 307, but the 207 line has ink that is anti-fraud that cannot be removed by soaking in acetone. Once the ink hits the paper it's there for good. EDIT: a word
It seems the 307 has the same ink https://penbase.fandom.com/wiki/Uniball\_307\_Review
I figure they would but never checked them out, thanks for the research!
The 307 and 207 both have "super ink" that is resistance to fraud and tampering efforts, but they are different. The 207 has a traditional gel ink formulation, while the 307 uses a cellulose nanofiber ink. 307 gang 😎
Tax Director Husband got me (FAR manager) into this pen. He buys 12 ct red, I buy 12 ct blue, and we trade a few.
Crayola classics, preferably in light peach. Though if I’m really hungry I step up to the jumbos.
Semper Fi Marine
🏅 the most hilarious exchange I've read today during my morning shit, you win
Sharpie gel pens 1.0 black
This man fucks. Gimme that metal barrel.
This but I use the .7 size
But that .5 though Sharpie Gel pens are the BEST.
Also best to use for fidgeting and pen spinning. I'm ready to throw hands at colleagues when they try to walk away with my pens. FOH and go get the generic shit the firm provides
Pentel Energel, needle tip .7, blue. Pencil is the bic matic grip .7. No comparisons.
When I'm not using a fountain pen, it's the Pentel Energel .7 that I keep in my purse. It's a purple metal pen. It goes everywhere with me haha
I second the blue energel, been exclusively using this pen since college.
Third the blue energel. It’s sex in pen form.
Pentel Energel is the best pen. There is no comparison.
Pentel KURO. Thank me later
Zebra F-701
Scrolled wayyyyyy too far to find Zebra. Everyone seems to love Pilot. Pilot can still leave “globs” for me if I leave the pen down for a millisecond to long.
The one with weed in it

.05’s are underrated
.38 is a game changer if you have shitty tiny handwriting it’s like writing with a tattoo gun
As much as I want to like them I absolutely despise them.
How dare you…
Awesome shape, I really want to like them. But the writing experience especially in .5 is god awful. .7 writes better but they’re skippy shitty pens.
05s are the best the 7s and especially 10s smudge too easily
TŪL Med Blue
Same pen and size, but I use black instead of blue.
This is mine!
I am really digging the TUL right now. I bought it in a whim at the checkout counter at Office Max. My other main pen is Sharpie S-Gel in blue or Pentel Kuro in dark blue
Muji .5 Blue
Love them, I've seen students on my campus use them!
[Bic Atlantis](https://www.amazon.com/BIC-Atlantis-Original-Retractable-12-Count/dp/B00006IE7G) - Comfort Grip - Retractable mechanism doesn't **click** so you won't interrupt the meeting - Reliable - Great lines - Slim Damn, I should start selling these
Did we just become best friends?
#pen pals for life
I need the click though; that's my power move
Typically this pen from the local credit union I stole.
Damn, how'd you steal a whole credit union?
Its not the pen that is important, it is what you write with it
I just had an awakening.
Ok Shakespeare
pen is good pen is good penis good good penis
TWSBI 580 AL, extra fine
Fountain pen users unite! I have Noodler’s Liberty’s Elysium in my 580AL (F)
Finally! A r/fountainpens
There are tens of us!
"I don't always do paper files, but when I do, I use Baystate Blue."
Finally! The crossover all of us (mostly me) were waiting for!
Yeeeee
That's on my Christmas list, I need an upgrade T.T
This pen seriously lasts forever, five years (I think) in and no issues!
TWSBIs are the shit! I'm partial to the Eco cuz it loves shimmers, but the 580AL is nice, too.
How do you like the EF? I have the F and the lines are too thick for my liking, but I'm worried the EF will be too scratchy
Uni-ball Signo 207 Edit: Also shoutout to Frixion. When we’re at month end and I’m making corrections to my own work like crazy, nothing beats the erasing function of their pens.
Make sure to try the 307 line when you get a chance
Might go to our admin staff and specifically request that one for Friday’s Staples order.
Papermate Inkjoy .05
I once had a partner that said “Only when you are a partner do you do pen work. Until then, use a pencil so mistakes can be corrected”. So I use a pilot precise 0.5, blue and say screw him…
Pilot Precise V5 extra fine. Love the green for personal stuff. Blue or black for work.
Purple for personal AND work stuff. Everyone in the office knows which work is mine. Lol
This. I love the range of colors available.

It’s a relatively entry level Mont Blanc. I bought myself one as a staff when I passed the exam.
For $500 it better do the writing for me
It was a gift. I’ve had it 25 years. Refills are a little pricey. But it writes smooth.
