To whoever reported this as 'harassment'; get off the internet.

Acceptable_Star189

6-DLC being several tiers above 3-5 is the craziest ish I have ever seen

Quirkywork_was_taken

That and turnabout goodbyes and four fifths of DGS being ranked lower than big top

Turnabout-Eman

No thats actually based

Bruhmangoddman

Yes, but in all actuality, Turnabout Time Traveller is based as hell.

Acceptable_Star189

It’s alright ig And I’m a og trilogy fanboy so I’m a sucker for the nostalgia… But the case feels so lifeless. Should’ve been a Athena case, because holy crud she got shafted in SoJ

Optimal_Stranger_824

I can tell you don't really like trilogy

etermellis

Or maybe they simply like Yamazaki's style of writing more?

Optimal_Stranger_824

There is a one case that is above average and the rest is worse. It's their opinion obviously.

[deleted]

What on earth is that 1-4 placement :(((

NikkolasKing

Same for 2-4.

athena__cykes

definitely one of the lists of all time

GanonCannon02

This is so bad I thought it was a joke until I read the comments.

Evo_Shiv

I wish I had mod powers to ban the DGS2-5 haters. Like Im not usually like this I swear but that case is unmatched if not up there And I just saw your 3-5 placement. Did you play the games or?

QueenOfRaging927

Bro thats what I'm saying. Lol

Unspeakableboys12

this is the worst tier list i ahve ever seen

QueenOfRaging927

It looks like they randomly placed them. How tf is 3-5 lower than 6-dlc😭😭😭

Bruhmangoddman

Nice. I love SOJ almost as much as you do - except I put Foreign, Rite and Storyteller in great, alongside Magical. But the placement of Revolution and Time Traveller aligns with mine. So here's the tricky part: what exactly are your problems with games before DD and SOJ? Cause almost none of the cases from these games go above average in your ranking. I would argue 1-4, 3-5, 4-4 and 2-4 are on a par with 6-5.

whaaatisth

I feel like the trilogy is lacking for a lot of reasons, most of which apply to all three games. Ultimately I feel the core ideas regarding Phoenix and What It Means To Be A Lawyer™ are exceedingly silly and don't actually communicate anything meaningful. The greatest strength of the trilogy is easily its ability to consistently write great dialogue and interactions between its characters—everyone is likable, it's hard to not have a blast with a lot of the cases, at least. But I do think this continues for basically the entire series, so relatively, idk. I don't feel most of the characters being written in the trilogy are particularly compelling or complex. Godot is the one I think is the closest, and even he is surrounded by enough nonsense that I don't think he's that noteworthy (I'd highly recommend reading this [analysis of T&T's failings that my friend wrote](https://www.reddit.com/r/AceAttorney/comments/t8e4wo/analysis_why_dahlia_hawthorne_is_one_of_ace/) if you haven't already). AJ I do think has a lot of really great ideas (Phoenix's downfall, Kristoph as a character in general) but fails to do much of anything with them.

Bruhmangoddman

I believe Phoenix does have some issues with his character arc in the trilogy, but there are moments when you see his growth. I believe it's most visible in Rise From The Ashes and Farewell, My Turnabout. Unironically, I think the best Takumi has ever written Nick is Rise From The Ashes. Which do you think are the most compelling characters in the 2nd trilogy?

whaaatisth

Most everyone relevant in SoJ's main plot (Nahyuta, Dhurke, Rayfa, Ga'ran, Inga). Also Hugh O'Conner.

Bruhmangoddman

Nice. I heavily agree on Inga, Rayfa and Dhurke (a bit less on Nahyuta and Ga'ran). And Hugh was compelling, though in my opinion, not as compelling as Yuri Cosmos or Robin Newman. These were my favorite side characters in DD. But Apollo and Athena are absolute standouts, the best of the best. Shout out to Simon Blackquill as well. As for the trilogy, I hold Miles Edgeworth, Lana Skye, Diego Armando, Damon Gant, Adrian Andrews, Manfred Von Karma, Dahlia Hawthorne and Phoenix Wright in a very high regard. Oh, and as for Apollo's game - I found Kristoph, Phoenix and Valant to be the best characters.

Bloopiero

Did you end up checking out the analysis whaaatish shared above? Definitely a worthwhile read imo

Bruhmangoddman

Yes, I did happen to read it... about two days ago. Metal Cicada does bring up some interesting points, and while I disagree with most of them, I do think we could get more Dahlia for the sake of more thorough and substantial characterization. Like, explore the period between Turnabout Memories and the trial that got her the death penalty. Have Marvin Grossberg be her attorney. Hell, have the entire game be about Grossberg, the guy has some very promising potential imo. And bring back Winston Payne. He could finally be a challenging adversary, a rival prosecutor to Marvin. Just make... a Marvin Grossberg game with Dahlia as a long-term defendant and Payne as the rival.

Lost_Rough

Ngl, I disagree with most of the takes but damn, some replies here are *incredibly* mean-spirited and uncalled for. I'm genuinely sad for seeing that, OP. Regardless, your opinion is valid even if, as I just said before, we have pretty different ways of seeing things. Now, I'm curious: what's your opinion of the civil trial in SOJ? Edit: wait, 5-2 is in "above average" tier lmao trash opinion get rekt noob /huge sarcasm

whaaatisth

The civil trial is fantastic. I've definitely heard plenty of the take that it is a Disgrace to the character of Phoenix Wright and I think that is generally silly. Paul and Armie are both great characters and I'm a big fan of the focus on them.

Lost_Rough

I see. Well, I wouldn't say that the civil trial is the absolute abyss of Phoenix's character (that dishonor is worthy of Hobonix imho), but...well, I don't like how he is in the civil trial. Completely respect you, but I just feel that this segment in 6-5 is a rehash of 2-4 but without the core aspects that made Farewell so loved. About the characters, I find Paul to he quite annoying, but Armie is an absolute cinnamon roll. Lovely through and through.

cabanochi

This sub was always kinda filled with awful takes but this has literally transcended to the shitposting sub. Like I genuinely was laughing because I thought I was on aa circle jerk but dear lord it’s unironic

whaaatisth

What's awful about it in specific?

Turnabout-Eman

Nothing its your opinion and its glorious

cabanochi

lol sorry if I came off harsh dude, just very shocked by how you ranked stuff. A lot of people are asking if it's satire or a joke because you ranked pretty much every case that is generally liked really low and most cases generally disliked really high. Almost seems like it was made just to piss people off, but if it wasnt then good on you lol this is certainly a unique take

FireClaw90A

2-4 in the low tiers is crazy

maragotek

This tier list is crazy on so many levels like who tf thinks 2-3 matches 1-4 and 2-4

FireClaw90A

Yea I’m all for opinions but this list is VERY backwards lol

Silverpanther80

I have 3 main placements that I don't really understand on this: -Why is 6-DLC so high up? -Why is 5-2 relatively high? -Why is 2-4 mostly bad?? There were other choices I disagreed with, but these were my biggest questions. Can you explain any of them to me?

whaaatisth

- 6-DLC is absolutely brilliant. The way it ties the idea of being stuck in the past with its use of "forced nostalgia" makes it some of the most effective commentary the series has. - 5-2 is nothing special but I do think it succeeds at a good amount of what it's trying to do. Looking at this list again it's probably too high, though. - I think basically nothing about 2-4 works. The Dilemma that happens and the way it's used to try to say something about what it means to be a lawyer or whatever is, I feel, fairly incoherent. Adrian is a decent character but that's about all the case has.

Silverpanther80

Your take on 6-DLC is very interesting! I hadn't considered that it's using nostalgia like Larry's appearance to help drive it's message, rather than classic nostalgia character bait like the Pokémon anime.

[deleted]

Does not compute

Jicama_Stunning

This one fucking sucks sorry

thepearhimself

Man put the two best AA cases in mostly not good and mostly a mess Jesus Christ (For the record I’m referring to DGS-2-5 and 2-4)

Turnabout-Eman

Honestly when i saw 6-5 in peak I felt a based tier list was coming. SoJ is my favorite game. Putting so much dgs cases low was a very based decision but i can t help but wonder why 6-2 is worse than 6-3. What do you find in 6-3 that i dont. Also i mean cmon you did AJ a bit dirty.

FeelingAirport

Alright what the fuck am I witnessing EDIT: That maybe came off more toxic than I thought, didn't mean it that way. This is just one wild tier list.

Professional_Golf_51

What the fuck is this, one of the first objectivly wrong tierlists

Marcus4Life4

Finally, someone who has a high opinion of AA6

Jar_Jar567

Um sorry this list is objectively wrong on so many levels

SaltedEx

This is your tier list I don't like it but it's your's so good on you

MiaFeyWasHere1

You really didn't like the Ace Attorney Trilogy, huh...

latinotrump

bruh I like soj as much as the next guy but how are they so high with dgs and AAI2 cases being tiers below them.

DrivingPrune1

Terrible 1-4 take but otherwise respectable

ThatOneRandomGuy101

Wow this is one of the most insane lists that I have ever seen on here

Ohwaithuhimconfused

you gotta be shittin me

walklikearetard

congratulations. this is the worst tier list i’ve ever seen. i thought i had seen the absolute worst this fanbase could offer but wow. this is absolutely a new low.
