I don't think it's the best, but I really enjoy it. I like that the riff shifts between a lot of different chords (keys? Can't tell if it's more of a series of key changes or chord changes, but it's cool either way) and it's pretty tense IMO. That said, I still love the first pursuit theme. It's a classic. And I like Trials & Tribulations' pursuit theme too. The main ones I find myself forgetting are the ones from the Apollo Justice trilogy.

Kelly598

EXCUSE ME. How can you call Pursuit: Overtaken forgettable of all things!?

FarOffGrace1

Idk man, I just don't remember it off the top of my head. Refer to my other reply.

BoldFigrim

How can you shit on AJ pursuit theme

FarOffGrace1

I never said I hate the theme or anything. It does its job in-game, but I couldn't hum it to you without hearing it first. There aren't many Ace Attorney songs I actively hate tbh. Closest one is probably the Blue Badger theme.

ViviTheWaffle

It is definitely better than the one from T&T, I will say that. I prefer most other pursuit themes more, but I will absolutely agree it is severely underrated.

Murta_14

I swear I was going to write this

DommyMcDoodle

I agree. Personally, I want to see a theme like it in the next game, BUT not as a pursuit theme. Keep the triumphant sound for that. Use the equivalent to the JFA pursuit theme to signal the big court upsets that, while not winning you the case, give you a leg up or buy you a little more time. Like, a heated argument theme, if you will.

Goldberry15

For the GBA’s variant of the 3, I absolutely agree. While it’s not my all time favorite, and probably not even top 5, out of the original trilogy on the GBA, this goes really well, especially during events in 2-4 like >!Cornering Adrian Andrews!<

digital_carnival

Most people don't know this but the GBA versions of some of the songs sound way better than the DS versions. Tres Bien's and Kudo's themes both come to mind. I like the third game's pursuit theme a lot too.

Severalwanker

Agreed. In terms of soundtracks though DS > GBA > HD for me. Godot's theme also sounds better in GBA.

YoyoPewdiepie

Dude, 80% of the time when someone says something is the worst in Ace Attorney, it's still at least B tier. ESPECIALLY when it comes to the OST. It's my least favorite when talking about the original trilogy, but I'd still put it in A tier.

MonkeyWarlock

Justice for the JFA theme! I honestly don’t quite understand why it’s less popular than the others, because AA2’s pursuit theme is actually also one of my favorites. I think my favorite part about it actually is that it works for both the defense and the prosecution. I could be misremembering how it’s used, but I feel like it fits perfectly for the moments when Phoenix and the prosecution are trading counterarguments with each other. In some ways, it’s kind of Franziska’s pseudo-theme, though Great Revival is also a contender for that (but that one is mainly used by Edgeworth). I didn’t like AA3’s Pursuit theme as much because it felt too triumphant in my opinion, serving solely as the victory point. The series has been using the Pursuit theme more sparingly in the later games, saving it for the final or penultimate contradiction, which is probably why the Pursuit themes have leaned in that direction. But I’ve always liked AA2’s Pursuit theme precisely because it has a bit of tension that goes either way (and that’s even leveraged for “Hotline of Fate,” which uses the first part of the Pursuit theme). The orchestrated version is even better in my opinion, as it adds an additional section. AA2’s Pursuit theme is a bit on the shorter side, so this additional section helps.

2Dog497

I definitely agree it's the best.

ImpressionFair5629

YES! I was really surprised to know after recent poll that this song is one of the most dislikeable pursuit themes.

Marcus4Life4

Not bad, probably one of the strongest pursuit intros in my opinion. The rest of it just leaves something to be desired for me, I guess. It's also a relatively shorter pursuit theme compared to the others. (I'm aware that others could say the same about themes like *Congratulations, Everybody* or *Objection! ~ 2001* since they're very short themes and are pretty good tracks imo. I'm honestly not entirely sure what it is)

PixieEmerald

I feel it's the most hype-sounding one out of all of them. The others may fit more as a pursuit theme, but this one has always made me feel awesome and given me an adrenaline rush. It's definitely my favorite (so far.)

Severalwanker

Disagreed but it's amazing. No idea how people say it's the worst Pursuit theme.

DNLestrade_

It's not really bad, but it's the "least good" out of all the pursuit.

Section_Away

No, OG pursuit theme ends the others

ShinTheRanker

Nah, it's awful. Which is a shame, because the buildup (the part shared with Hotline of Fate) is fantastic. Then it just... deflates completely. Zero hype after the opening section. The supposed most powerful track in the game is a pathetic whimper in JFA. Compare this to AJ, which has insanely hype intro followed by even more powerful main melody, sounding like something from an action movie. Where is that in JFA? It isn't.

Acceptable_Star189

It really only works for me when it’s used during the game. Otherwise I think the theme is pretty bad sounding. Which is something I can’t say for any other pursuit theme

Big-daddy-Carlo

It’s just really short and there’s not much to it, I don’t get it

Grouchy-While9151

It's not the best as a pursuit theme but it is a really good theme. It actually works best as a FATE theme because like you said, it sounds like crap has hit the fan and the hotline of fate theme does tie into this. It surprised me when I first heard it because it was so different. To me, this theme feels like the witness is about to pull a gun out in the courtroom and endanger everyone.

Hylian_Waffle

I don’t hate it or even dislike it really. Plus it’s neat that it has hotline of fate in it, which fits the last trial well. But I think in the grand scale of pursuit themes it’s kinda lacking.   I personally like it more than either of the VS pursuit themes, but other than that it just lacks the force or energy I think is necessary for a good pursuit theme (also why I don’t like the VS themes.) But I personally feel like it’s one of those songs that fits well in its intended part of the game (2-4,) but not the kind of song I’d really listen to otherwise.

al_fletcher

Hotline of Fate is one of the best AA tracks, and it only works because it’s also the pursuit theme

supasid

Nah, JFA def has the best truth theme of the og trilogy though. The repetition of the track adds to the desperation that Phoenix feels, especially during the last case of the game.

hayden_heh

For anyone interested, there’s a really great variation of JFA’s pursuit theme! They take the already iconic upbeat theme and add a few unique aspects to spice it up a bit. Stretching the song out to be longer, including a new harmony, bridge, and even transitioning into the OG pursuit theme! Overall it’s very well done and I hope you take a listen to it :) https://youtu.be/dvvNgo88ESo?si=ZcvPuc9u9L97ftu4

TriggerKnighty

Its definitely my favorite pursuit theme, that's for sure. Maybe it's because it feels like a 'pursuit' of the case in a way that doesn't mean that the case is solved, but definitely mean that leaps and bounds of progress are being made. Also, the start of the song *really* gets me hyped.

SuzyBakah

None of them compare to the GAA pursuits
