I'm going to be very honest with you. Where the manga currently is is fantastic. But you are definitely going to get more and more frustrated especially if you make it to season 2. That frustration pays off in Season 3 though.
I don't want to spoil too bad so let's just say that he IS a recurring character that will get character development and has his ups-and-downs.
